yeah it's quite weird. but it's cute and not real.
Respectfully, the “it’s not real” excuse does not make anything better. I think it’s something we say to gaslight ourselves into watching these shows. If it’s okay cause “it’s not real” then that means these directors and screenwriters can write about the most disgusting criminal relationships and paint it as “cute.” The people who enjoy this content are still weird, and most likely have a weird fetish. Japan already has an awful history of having no morals when it comes to this, their dramas just prove how backwards their society is and weebs on here don’t wanna talk about that.

These are my recommendations for recent Japanese rom-coms that fit your criteria:1) Kikazaru Koi (opposites attract…
Thank you for your response and recommendations! I will give your question some thought and send you a dm of shows I think you’d enjoy 😊

They advertise this drama as romance, which it is, but it borderline on a psychological strange concept. This…
I agree with your thoughts completely. Loved and adored this show. So much detail and unique aspects to it. The only thing I would change is the back and forth, it really did also wear me out. I think the back and forth should have been for two episodes max, the show could have used more time showing how she wraps things up with her family.
Romance Jdramas always gotta be creepy. It’s either a minor and an adult, or a contract marriage, or in this case BOTH. You gotta have worms for brains to actually enjoy their media. They haven’t evolved at all from these plots for the last 20 years… there’s dozens of Chinese and Korean romance shows to pick from but for Japanese romance shows… you’re lucky if you get one mature solid drama a year. Embarrassing.

And before people say it, I know there’s weird Korean and Chinese shows, but let’s not lie to ourselves about the ratio being the same. Whenever I ask people to recommend me good romance jdramas, they send me a list of the most garbage shows.

I just finished watching this whole thing in 3 days. Honestly I’m shocked at how much I loved ever. Single.…
Also can anyone recommend a show as fun as this one? Please do not say stuff like squid gogo. I’ve already watched twinkling watermelon.

Wow I have never met a more unlikeable bunch of characters. They don't get any better during the first 8-10 episodes,…
…??? Did you watch the same show? This cast was spectacular, their chemistry and the unique personalities of each of them. How were any of them unlikeable? Is this a troll comment lmaoo. A supportive group spreading love and uplifting each other is unlikeable to you?

Title Spirit Fingers Spoiler
I wish they would’ve explored more about the other couples😭 there was many potential couples but i feel like…
Me too but I feel like it could have gotten too convoluted so they decided to control themselves, something other kdramas need to do. I feel like this show could easily have a second season, one could only dream cause I loved this cast

I just finished watching this whole thing in 3 days. Honestly I’m shocked at how much I loved ever. Single. Moment of it. It has been a loooooong time since I’ve enjoyed a drama from beginning to end. Yes, this drama doesn’t get boring last ep 6, not even after episode 10. I had so much fun watching this as a grown women no where near high school nor university age. It was genuinely so funny as well.

This show really deserve more love but I get that simple straightforward shows like this do not get it. In a nutshell, this is like a 2012 era kdrama but without outdated feel and stupid tropes. Any trope in here was done perfectly and for comedic relief. So glad I ended 2025 with this! If you’re feeling sad, start this.

only my roommate is gumhio was best show of jung ki young. otherwise his all shows are 😴😴😴👎
Atypical family is the best drama
He’s been in. clear vision and all
Episodes are cohesive and well thought out. It’s just that most people don’t get it so they think there are plot holes in it.

Gumiho is kinda cringe and not memorable

It will be good only if partner doesn't take him as granted, otherwise it just a delusional trap.
Yall just making stuff up now. Literally 99% of kdrama FL are girls with low self esteem who utter the words “but why do you like me when I’m poor and have no talents/not pretty” direct quote from several dramas off the top of my head. The gaslighting that all FLs are on a high horse ain’t gonna work.

Also I can tell this comment is written by a man, “FLs that give nothing in return” straight up incel “what do you bring to the table” energy. I know it’s hard to believe but for many men being attracted to the girl is all they need. That is valuable for them alone, FLs don’t need to jump through hoops to prove they deserve a MLs love they didn’t ask for. And yet, that’s what they are usually doing in kdramas so what are you even talking about. The rest of us don’t have drama amnesia after we watch one show

Ending credit scene really tries to gaslight you into thinking these writers didn’t write the last four episodes and it was all a fever dream cause what in the HELLY was that

Title Ms. Incognito Spoiler
This had so much potential!! The first two episodes were seriously good but then it got messed up. Tbh, I was…
Agreed. The romance in this show was SO bad. Like how did the ML go from “this woman is weird and needs to get out of here” (rightfully so) to “I’ll go to jail for you, who cares about my son” 🙃

I said this before, but her liking the ML made a lot of sense, but him liking her??? Nah. There was not enough shown to convince me he’d want to be with her like that.

Looking at the comments I’m already scared to watch this. Seems like the kind of drama that will make you lose…
It’s the best watch of the year, the second one is even better than this one. I hesitated watching it based off the comments here but I’m so glad I’m beginning to ignore comments and just form my own opinion on it first. It’s def not gonna be everyone’s cup of tea, but the romance really helped balance the dark themes here

i watched 2-3 episode it is kind of dark and it is that stereotypical bullying and household abuse kind of story
There is nothing stereotypical about this show at all. The first couple episodes don’t even touch the surface of what the story ends up being

It's rather diabolical if you think about it.His mum and even the other girl personally aren't dangerous- just…
Yeah I agree with you 😩

he could have been so happy, if he just moved on.
Would be a boring show though and the ML wouldn’t be as interesting and compelling of a character if he just “moved on”

Should I watch the first part first?
Yes! But just know that it starts a bit slow and can seem confusing at first but just push through, it really picks up when they stay in the past (their high school days). Yo could technically watch this one without seeing the first one but it won’t hit as emotionally
