Which brings me to my thoughts on Jen yao. Although he was the main character the story was never about him. I get being upset he turned himself in and was ultimately executed, but this show was never really about the romance nor was the focus supposed to be about his pain. Although these are important parts of the story, and I really adored their relationship, I think they were all just put in place for the audience to feel how traumatizing it is to go through what hsaio tung went through. I think this story reflects a lot of the things that go through a persons mind when something traumatizing happens to them, one of them is imaging their abusers being killed.

This one is better than the first part. I enjoyed the first part too but it started off a little iffy. I enjoyed every single episode in this one. Honestly a masterpiece 10/10 for me which I rarely give but the way the emotion and trauma was delivered to the audience was so good. Cried so many times just from reflecting about hsaio tungs pain as well as her parents, which I believe was the end goal for the writers.

I think it didn’t matter if they had remorse or not. The whole reason he killed them was because they could remind her of what happened.

It’s become a weird thing on here where people for some odd reason feel the need to review a drama after two episodes. I’ve seen people write these long reviews in comments for a show that didn’t even start yet (ms. Incognito). It’s diabolical. I get wanting to discuss a show, and I guess the comment section is free for everyone. But judging a show after two episodes still has no meaning nor substance for me as a viewer. It could even turn ppl off from a drama that may end up being great.

Calling someone a retard for having an opinion is diabolical, but anyway.

Maybe you don’t have much experiences with men. But I can tell you men like the ML exist, but in real life they are complete losers with no ambition, usually a narc, and that’s why they have no experiences. You’re clearly upset that this drama isn’t depicting men the way you want. That’s sad for you. But I hope you can understand it’s just a pretend show. You don’t need to R word people ☺️

I honestly have not watched a kdrama where a guy just gets all walked over and waits for the FL. I know they exist but since I haven’t seen them I don’t have a strong opinion. I think dramas can be unrealistic if that’s the lane they’re choosing, and it can still be a fun watch. Trust me, no man is waiting for any girl for 10 years irl, most men don’t even like women these days, but if kdramas depict that reality that would be really sad and uninteresting

agreed, im never reading MDL reviews before i watch a show, cause i went into this confused about who the heck this person was talking about... whole cast did amazing.

Sure, but on this site garbage like “when the phone rings” has the same rating. Most dramas in this rating are usually not good imo. This drama has the glory level production.
