I understand Shenyi’s character. She is broken and has very little self-confidence. She doesn’t feel needed and doesn’t have the ability to stand on her own yet is ashamed that FL is leading her and thinks she can’t be relied on like Fu for her strength and Lv for her medical knowledge. With all this, she is definitely going to cause trouble. I hope she doesn’t bring that trouble to FL 😭

that one gal that she rescued from her husband (Shengyi) comes off as a toxic friend at times. she is constantly whispering negativity or ill advice. she almost seems like a red flag boyfriend in some scenes when Mudan is getting close to Lv Gengchun.

I think ppl were just so angry at the uncle for being so cunning. Choi Gwi Hwa played villain so well 🔪 I was praying uncle would trip and fall on his smug face! He played fool in front of ppl that it was hard knowing the truth as an audience

Yup. You are correct. I went back to ep 5 as well when she is told about the health checkup and she has a moment of confusion noting the uncle’s name and then pondering isn’t it the brother to succeeded the throne. She even noted it’s very confusing. Thanks for pointing that out!

Am I missing something…she started with noting that she shouldn’t change history, but she ofc did by putting out all these “future” recipes and ingredient usage. Then she made a major change by altering the king’s temperament. She even recognized this and actively told him to not become a tyrant. Yetttt, she won’t reveal the future that she knows that might enlighten him to think differently. Why not tell him outright how he is known in history and how there is a rebellion? Or express openly her suspicion of the uncle? is there an explanation that someone has that can tie up this plot hole?

the way the people in the envoy are speaking…Chinese…are they speaking Chinese…if it they are, it feels so exaggerated and weird. They sound so cartoonish and their acting even comes off as bad. idk. it’s driving me bonkers.

Hey trust me, I love my romance and that’s what I primarily watch. That’s why I prefer no romance in these action/thriller heavy dramas because they don’t do the romance justice and it becomes misplaced instead. That’s great you like romance in ALLLL your dramas, but let the “minority” have their right to speak as well and you keep scrolling to talk to your majority instead of undermining and trying to ridicule the views of the “minority”

exactly, they could have left it out. it didn’t add anything to the story. he didn’t need the girl to give him motive and drive. they already established he was altruistic by giving up the life of leisure and what brought him true happiness is when he became a cop and could help people. they had him turn into a silly puppy whenever they insert those romantic moments and the music was so off putting like the loop where his love interest is invited to the wedding. There were scenes that totally awkwardly shifted tone due to romance inserts like the aftermath of the cafe smoke bomb scene. My hubby likes legit thriller and sci-fi dramas (but he sticks to Hollywood) and I have watched a few jdramas and kdramas with him. I thought I finally had a cdrama I could watch with him but I knew he would make fun of those scenes. That was pretty telling to me about how those romantic scenes would be perceived. The rest of the drama was good, but we can discuss what we didn’t like as well.

Other than the plot hole I felt from the explanation of how they had the same premonitions (*edit* someone clarified for me - the loops naturally happen and everyone else forgets them but those exposed to meds can remember the events on loop days), the really bad background music (like what’s that ending ep music or everytime there was romance) and the romance (I just can’t with random inserted romance in action dramas - as I mentioned in an earlier comment), it wasn’t bad 😀 it had its good moments like the relationship between the cop team, how they laid out all the loops and changes without making it overly confusing, and…BJT 😂 That was the biggest asset. bwhahaha. he did well action scenes. dying scenes. wearing suit. wearing gun holster. 😘just existing 😂

I see what you mean - they tried. I felt like they were the precogs in Minority Report but in MR it was shown that they had to be hooked up to a device to make sure they had premonitions about the same events. Since it wasn’t a supernatural event causing their premonitions (I’m guessing they stayed away from it since it’s still a Chinese production even if it’s Netflix) I feel like that needed to be explained better. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This OTP brought chemistry to the screen without over the top skinship. just the way they glanced at each other or the words they said explained so much and gave so mamy feels. Even the OST (by Liu Yuning!!) has the lyrics that their glances say things words can’t even express! it’s a must watch. I loved it!

did they ever establish what triggered loop days? It would be fine to say they were random if all of them experienced different days but given they all experienced the same loop day, there had to be a trigger for them. 🤔
