I am not rooting for this duke at all. He's way too naïve. Even if he gets his way and marries Ming, her life will be a living hell and he'll be unable to protect her.
Korea's cancel and public shaming culture, where celebrities reputation can be decided by the most ridiculous things (I read somewhere an actor had to apologise for slurping noodles noisily as a joke) makes it too easy for false accusations to thrive. Whichever way this goes I hope the real innocent party gets justice.
The detail about an anti-fan cafe bothers me a little. Isn't that usually hater behaviour? At least from dramas. Reality might be different.
This was worth the time. Enjoyed it immensely even though I'll be taking 0.5 off my rating for the utterly pointless deaths at the end. Also the revenge didn't really hit like I wanted because they were less about the female lead and more about the bigger plan. But I liked how the romance between the leads was handled so it didn't overshadow the main plot. Would love to see these two in a romance drama. Their chemistry is fire.
I like my villains but I'm so tired of the trope of evil female characters doing the most outlandish things because…
I keep skipping the eldest princess scenes. she's just a pawn herself. And with all the spies in the palace no one knows she's having an affair with Shen?
Something must have changed in the writing. They can't tell me her grand plan all long after scheming to play…
Wanting to protect his sister and mother by killing his wife is a choice. But to choose burying her alive? Of everything he could have done? You don't come back from that kind of cruelty.
Something must have changed in the writing. They can't tell me her grand plan all long after scheming to play with her murderer husband at the banquet was to try and talk him into doing the right thing. Really? This man buried you alive and you think he'd confess?
I like my villains but I'm so tired of the trope of evil female characters doing the most outlandish things because they like a man. Do some wickedness for power or for revenge. For a man? Eww.
