It seems Seung-won is reluctant to confess because he knows Heesu has a crush on Chan. But the drama hasn't done a good job of showing Heesu and Chan's history/friendship. A comment below says their friendship feels manufactured and I agree. It just feels tacked on for plot's sake when it's supposed to be a mainstay of the drama. So it kind of waters down the reason for Seung-won's reluctance to confess.
Nice ep. Was good to see Heesu lose his shit and be jealous. I don't know why he called Chan selfish though. It makes sense in the manhwa but drama Chan hasn't done anything to Heesu to deserve that. Or did I miss it?
Is it just me, or Ho Sik and the tsundere girl (forgot if they even mentioned her name 🥀) are very cute? If…
Ji Yu kinda feels like a non character now, and her new persona is simply "Chan Yeong's girlfriend", which is sad. I actually liked her when she was by herself.
So so true, I like her better as Seung-won's friend.
Hospital Playlist is in my top two favourite k-dramas (and its not number 2) so I was looking forward to another drama set in the same universe. Of course I had to tamper my expectations because different PD/writer/cast. Episode 1 didn't quite hook me but episode 2 was much better. Getting to know the characters and they're all such sweethearts. One thing I hope they borrow from HP is the absence of a villain character. It's one of the things that made it such a heartwarming series.
I feel like they already did fuck it up. 6 episodes in and its still about Heesu's unrequited love. I genuinely…
Ah. You think we're on opposite sides. Me on the het couple side, you on the gay couple side. That I'm okay with a het couple taking up space in what should be a 100% gay drama. Lol. That's where you're wrong. I choose to put my upset at not getting my expectation based on the manhwa met and enjoy this drama for what it is.
I'm enjoying the drama and you're obviously not. I understand your frustration and empathise but what you shouldn't do is misread my response make assumptions from my comment.

You know what? I don't find your comment offensive at all because I agree with you to a large extent. I said in a comment yesterday that the time spent on the het couple feels like a lot because their story is progressing speedily without fluff. The MC even with more time don't get that "depth" because Heesu is still stuck on his unrequited feelings. Right now he doesn't even realise Seungwon is a romantic option for him. And that's where me hoping they don't fuck it up comes from because I'm expecting to see the emotional depth and growth you mentioned in the coming eps.
As to the rest of your comment about erasure and representation, I decided to separate my feelings of annoyance around that and focus on the story in front of me else I wouldn't watch it. There are plenty of negative comments already. Do I agree with some? Yes. Do I have to rehash them in every comment I make? No.
I appreciate your articulating your thoughts. Engaging on MDL can be like the hunger games sometimes.

The straight couple has between 4 and 5 minutes every episode. I checked. How much screen time would be fair to you? 1 minute? 2?
The premise of the drama hinges on Heesu's unrequited feelings. He's not going to meet Seungwon one episode and get over Chan the next. We have seen them go from just classmates to friends to Heesu realising he's not thought about Chan all day. This development equals stagnancy to you? The second Heesu realises he's over Chan and likes Seugwon, there's no more story.
What's even more important is to me is why you're still watching if you feel like the drama is fucked up? I'm super curious. Is there anything about the drama you like? If there isn't why not drop it?
Loving this show a lot. Seung-won is so lovable and cares so much for Hee-su without being a pushover. I also love how he is such a calming on Hee-su. He says all the right things. Atp I think my boy is blind because how does he not see it? There are certain aspects of Hee-su's development I'd have wanted to see but I guess the writer decided on using the revelation of Chan's relationship to achieve the same thing.
Ji-yu is such a wise supportive friend. Chan-young in the manhwa wasn't very likeable either so nothing changes much.
In all, the adaptation does well as a stand-alone creation so far. Let's hope they don't fuck it up.

Now where did I say the het couple was integral?
