I just started Death's Game Part 2 and it's gritty and violent and bloody and all his character is swinging a metal bat at someone's head and all I can think is "what a beautiful beautiful man". Every move is graceful. No matter what he's playing, there's this thing that is 100% Jae-wook that he can't turn off. I have loved him in everything, even when he's a side character.
Was not disappointed. Cue "the straight couple is eating all the screen time" meanwhile they had a grand total of 5 minutes and 3 seconds onscreen. Let's be fr. And where's all this hate for Heesu coming from? What exactly has he done? Am I watching a cut version?
I hope she chooses him over them. Those brats were all about what they could get when the kid becomes the heir to the group even after what the chairwoman did to their sister. Bloody idiots.
There is a cultural aspect that needs to be kept in mind. A command as direct as he got directly from the CEO…
Baek-ho has been presented as a straight arrow - logical and by the book, not in any way crooked. It was clearly stated that the CEO "asked him a favour" rather than it being a direct command, which even within the cultural context means he was not someone to order around. And from the way he relates to the top brass, he's not under the same pressure to obey without question like a regular employee. "I did as I was asked" might work for Ki-se because he's as bent as it gets but not for Baek-ho.
His character is so well-developed that this deviation, even from six years ago presents a conundrum. Was he capable of this much cruelty and has become a better person over the past six years? Was he still capable of this much cruelty in the present but has become a better person after meeting the FL and the Potato Lab team? Or was he unaware six years that he was meting out such cruelty to an innocent person.
First option - kinda dud because we didn't get to see him grow as a person for six years. Second option - not great because it's kinda late in the game to show us this terrible side of him and expect us to believe he's changed that much in less that three months. Third option - most likely in my opinion and what I hope is revealed before the drama ends.

Responsibility ultimately lies with him imo. He could have stopped it. It might mean losing the opportunity to marry into the top brass' family. For the others, she was a stranger. She was his lover and teammate. He chose himself over her. Who pulled the trigger is secondary. If we take this complex situation and simplify it, the buck stops at his table.
Park Ki-se is still scum. Don't know where he gets off making demands of Baek-ho. Where was this conscience six years ago? Because he knew what was being done to Mi-kyung.
As for Baek-ho, I think there's a layer to the narrative that's missing - what exactly his superior told him about Mi-kyung, something that made him justify his actions (and even then...). If he knew the true situation and still did what he did, then the writers have ruined this character. There's a level of evil you have to be ruin an innocent person's life that way.

And Park Ki-se could have protected her if he wanted to. He could have confessed to his wife-to-be and clarified the situation but he chose himself and watched as her life turned into a living hell. Like he watched her suffer and did nothing. A woman he'd loved and been in a relationship with for years. A woman he'd been on the same team with and was friends with. His family knew and loved her. There's no shifting the blame anywhere else but on him. He could have stopped it.

Ep 4 was a little slow but I enjoyed it.
I'm never sure if Hem is smiling or smirking. Pond is just a ray of sunshine. Contrary to my early expectations, he's not even a brat or spoiled.
