LMAO. Your bias is jumping out. "Wrong partners" because he's pretty. While his acting has improved a lot after this show, Cha Eun-woo's acting was very basic here and if you're being objective the FL did a better job. But you won't be objective because she's not beautiful enough for you. That's why you don't like her.
They didn't _make_ FL the worst looking. The actress looks like that. Maybe the Korean government once again sponsored…
"Koreans (and other people) love to imitate the main leads in dramas and movies because being the main lead means you are successful."
You must really have a low opinion of Koreans.
Fact is that Korea is an appearance-based society. It's bigger than the government or celebrities. Where you went to school, work, how you look, how you're dressed,, your hair and make-up, your accent, everything comes under scrutiny. This drama simply reflects that reality.
There are so many silly things in the plot that have me rolling my eyes but the second Yak and Dee are in the same frame I forget all the issues. They just look so good together onscreen. They're saving this show for me—them and Cher. And Oye's pretty eyes. And Klao just being the best friend ever.
The cute is running out pretty fast. Glad there's only one episode left so I don't lose what liking of the show I have left. Also, aren't Chain and Pun supposed to be a couple?
edit: there's three episodes left. hopefully that's for Chain and Pun 'cos Peem-Phum have used up whatever weird conflict the writers can dream up. hopefully.
i don't even know why ppl are debating about the plot/no-plot thing bc more likely than not, if it's a thai bl,…
clear. I came to complain about the plot/lack thereof but I completely agree with you. It does not stop my enjoyment of the show so why flog a dead horse?
It's interesting to me that this is an adaptation of a same-sex original work where they went avada kedavra on the gay characters, the romance, and a couple of other plotlines; and still created a compelling drama in its own right. It buttresses the point I always make to treat adaptations as a completely different animal. Else as a fan of an original work, you'll just end up hurt and angry.
What queerbaiting tactics? Aren't you the one ascribing sexuality to a healthy male friendship? Bromance could…
You make a good point and I agree that it is true for a lot of censored c-dramas adaptations where the leads do everything but kiss. That is queerbaiting. (Funny enough it's become accepted even by BL fans. Unless I've missed pushback on such dramas then that's on me.)
For this specific drama, there are no allusions, not even the tiniest bit, to anything romantic between the leads. None of their interactions are ambiguous enough to be misleading. Zilch. Did they do dirty by removing the queer romance plotline? Yes. But that's an entirely different conversation to queerbaiting.
Anyone who watched this drama and found the relationship between the leads to be sexual/romantic is delusional.
I'm so utterly confused by this romance people keep talking about. Don't the two parties have to be engaged for there to be romance? Two teenage girls had crushes on someone who was completely oblivious to their feelings and treated them like friends/classmates. Dude had no interest in either girl even after he found out their feelings in the last ep. So what is this talk about dating/romance? I actually thought the whole thing was funny/cute watching Deuk Pal act the way he did not knowing he was being crushed on.
He is implied to be dating his female classmates in the end, so the age gap theory is out the window
He is not implied to be anything. He was never with either girl alone, except for the last time and that happened because he's clueless. Unless dating has a 2024 meaning I'm unaware of.
The rating is reflective of the happiness people are getting from this show. Because if it was based on the plot, which is nonexistent, it should be much lower. They had a chance to do a rare thing and blew it.

IMO though it's more like "someone else will benefit more from my life than I will and so let them have it."
