Yeah well I'm hoping for something different in dramaland because he's great. Give him his own love interest. I actually get Trash (Reply 1994) vibes from him and I was totally Team Trash in that drama. The only difference is I don't have any strong feelings about the main female lead so I don't care if he ends up with her or not lol.
It took me 5 episodes to even remotely like this drama as a whole instead of compartmentalizing it. I still think…
Also, I need to give a shoutout to Lin Yi. I first saw him in the few episodes of 'Put Your Head on My Shoulder' I could muster and thought he was horrible but he is MUCH better here. It's great to see improvement.
It took me 5 episodes to even remotely like this drama as a whole instead of compartmentalizing it. I still think Yukee suffers any time she tries to be cute but otherwise I find her OK. My favorite character so far is Zhang Qi. I find him super endearing.
Yukee played a similar bubbly and mischievous character in Princess Weiyoung and I found her adorable but here it's not working. She's over the top for no reason.
I was really looking forward to this one too but I totally agree with all your points. I had the same reaction…
I went to a performing arts high school so it's even more obvious for someone who both performed in theater productions and built sets for them. As I watched all I kept seeing was like 'Little Shop of Horrors' minus the musical numbers 😅. I don't know how many more episodes I'm gonna endure tbh.
This is clearly low budget but the first trailer actually looks engaging and the female lead looks capable and rootable. Hopefully it can be a suprise despite the low budget!
I was super excited for this but the script is a bit awkward. And I know they actually built the set for this drama but you can actually tell that it's a set so it kind of takes me out of the drama tbh. And I do agree with a poster that said that Yukee is looking her age in this drama. She does generally look young but in a drama of actors who are a bit younger than her she does stand out.
"Sleeping Garden" analyzes the psychology of typical problems in a profound and simple way, allowing people in need of healing to face themselves and reflect on themselves through social phenomena. This perseverance and respect is worth looking forward to the next plot.
I've seen casual fans loving it so far so speak for yourself. Its hard to please perfectionists. The good thing…
You probably should have mentioned the chemistry, the acting and the dubbing over the editing, directing, and the pacing. The editing of this drama feels unique, the framing of some of the shots from the director is honestly good and this is a fast-paced drama where nothing really overstays it's welcome imo.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and if you're not, or anyone else, feeling this drama for whatever your reasons may be there are luckily a plethora of other dramas at your disposal. No sense in sticking with something that is not meeting your standards. Lord knows I've dropped a ton of dramas for that exact reason.
I'm noticing that Dream Garden seems to be receiving a bit of word of mouth buzz (in China) and that makes me happy. The production team should feel proud. I'm excited to see where this goes.
I love that we dont have the traditional cold male lead, lin shen has a softie heart but a hard mouth, clumsy…
Yes! He's not the typical male lead that I have become so accustomed to seeing in modern c-dramas and I love that. In the same vein, I love that so far our female lead is proactive in everything she does and that she has this urge to want to learn from her mistakes. She tries to see both sides of a situation (re: the second case) and actually feels guilt and apologizes when she's in the wrong. Xiao Xiao doesn't feel like a damsel and Lin Shen doesn't feel like a white knight. These characters don't feel abstract, they feel like people we could run into in real life. I'm not just referring to Lin Shen and Xiao Xiao here but the people in the cases. Their situations feel realistic. I love it.
