I love YueXin’s character. She is so sweet and funny. After her museum tour she is treated to dinner where she suggests buying the entire menu😂 What is sweeter is that her tour guide date would have bought it for her. In a roundabout way she shares her experience with friends trying to force her to date and blaming her when things don’t go as planned. He confesses his fear of next interview because his job is on the line and the last two attempts didn’t go well. She is so innovative creating the museum floor outline so he can practice all the guide information. She not only helps him practice but replacing bad memories with good ones to be calming thoughts for his next interview. These two make you sigh with content and smile.🥰 Xu Xiao and Xiao Cen have been showing up at the studio. Is is clear that she is along so he will show up. He is so focused on the work he is doing that he completely misses XiaoCen sitting idle with nothing to do. She was wanting to toss that cake so badly but she is too polite. And then she was sad that it was also delicious and something else the new artist could do better than her. I am sad for Xiao Cen, but there is no comparison between the artist’s old work and new projects. These new pieces are beautiful and shows her real potential with a competent mentor guiding her. It was fun watching the two sisters watch a drama together. The younger actually watches it and the older wants cliff notes to fill her in on the parts she didn’t want to bother watching. This is when they finally notice XiaoCen is deep in thought and not paying attention to anything. The next day in class she sits with queen gossiper and gets filled in on the love triangle. She is getting all too familiar with that at the studio. In the artist’s defense, she recognizes their attraction to each other and teases him. Unfortunately XiaoCen put a different spin on their conversation. I am glad she refused to go to the studio the next day and went out with YueXin instead. She deserved a good time with a friend. Xu Xiao notices her absence much more than her presence😝 He gets the latest story from his boss and commiseration about not understanding women. Xu Xiao meets XiaoCen and apologizes. He knows something is wrong but can’t or won’t define it. When put on the spot by the balloon seller, he dashes her hopes again that he has no interest. But he sees her look and wants her happy, so he buys her one. His heart wants her happy.🥰 I am waiting, not so patiently, for them to define their relationship. The only benefit of them both being clueless is this keeps her pushy hovering mom out of the way. When her sister told her to speak more quietly, she should have elaborated to mean more gentle. She lowered her voice but kept saying the exact same things taking charge of XiaoCen’s free time without asking her opinion. For the studio job, I don’t think she will mind her mom nixxing it. All these couples are on the cusp of first love and it is sweet to watch. The cast does an excellent job of interacting and the production team does a wonderful job displaying the pottery and drawing you into their craft. It is beautifully done.👏🏻

The sisters have made up and going shopping while XiaCen tutors her cousin. The assignment turns to love poetry and her cousin makes some astute observations about her picking lotuses.😂 While they are fighting over her phone he makes a remark to his aunt that gets a death glare from XiaoCen. He changes it up a bit to reflect his assignment rather than XiaoCen having a bf. In class, she is a bundle of nerves recognizing she LIKES him. He is trying to figure it out and I grin at the encouragement he gets from one of the pranksters. He invites her to a fair where porcelain is also used as art. He can’t help himself and corrects a vendor who is selling her wares as restorations while he considers them cheap glued together tiles with poor technique. 😂Things are getting heated when the artist shows up and calms things down. She takes an interest in Xu Xiao and visits his workplace. This is the first time XiaoCen has experienced jealousy. Xu Xiao would have been very pleased had he been aware. 😂 The artist presented a work and asked his opinion. He wasn’t much kinder in his evaluation but did reflect on whether as an art form it had merit. She invited them to her studio and it looked promising. She is wanting Xu Xiao’s skills rather than XiaoCen’s so if he chooses to work there that will take away a lot of their together time. She is a bit worried as he seems interested in the shop’s potential. It does not help that the artist is a bit older and very pretty.

I enjoyed watching YueXin give a tour to the museum guide. She was especially fun when saying any disagreements and her word held sway.😂 These two are a sweet and like minded couple. Xu Xiao wants to ask XiaoCen on a date and she innocently crushes his plans. When he asks what’s her wish and she says world peace I died laughing.🤣😂 She finally chooses a place she really wants to see and he’s familiar with. They are looking forward to it til her mom has other plans. She has set her sis up with a blind date. Not only did she refuse to read the room, she booked everybody for a lame pottery making date the following day. Once she traps everybody there, she takes off. The guy doesn’t get along with the boy and tries to re enact ghost scene and back hug XiaoCen’s aunt. XiaoCen has kept clay tossing at bay from her cousin til she saw how handsy the guy was being and how uncomfortable her aunt was. She signaled her cousin to break them up. Her mom then shows up and berates them for missed opportunity. I hoped either her sis or daughter would speak up about the poor manners of her ‘perfect’ blind date choice. Tempers rose and her nephew cut loose. He is fed up,with the extra homework and tired of house invasion and said so. He followed up with an I hate you so this takes XiaoCen’s mom aback and she is hurt and stunned. She has forgotten how to be a sister and is acting like an overbearing mom which she has that down pat. 😝She had no consideration cutting off her daughter’s plan and then left her to babysit a very bad date. Xu Xiao was gracious that plans had changed and lied about not buying tickets yet. He goes with one of the pranksters and ya gotta laugh when he mumbled he thought he would talk less than the other one.😂The one bit of gossip is that prankster two has a crush on a girl who really doesn’t like him that way. And now the best friend likes the girl and doesn’t know what to do about it. Xu Xiao just wants the day over. I like when Xu Xiao gives XiaoCen candy after her medicine, and that she is comfortable enough around him to drink it in front of him. They are naturally and sweetly becoming a couple.🥰

The bird saved the day. Its magpie habits included retrieving a porcelain piece from the broken cup. The professor included himself in the live broadcast showing the piece and proclaiming it a fake. Before the guy could argue, he included a certificate of authenticity from the school’s experts to validate that it was a fake. I am wondering if the son knew to just grab the real piece and toss all the rest so it couldn’t be proved fake. Xu Xiao’s dad saw the broadcast and accepted that the combined firing of old and new made very good fakes. He looked closer at the upper portions of his piece and realized his son now had perfect vision with fakes. He took a hammer and broke it and hopefully starting to break his obsession with porcelain as well. It is a laugh out loud moment when Xu Xiao and Xiao Cen are added to the murder mystery game. Xu Xiao in a monotone voice went through every detail and concluded with who was the murderer and game over.😂🤣 The pranksters said he wasn’t being invited next game.😂🤣YueXin was disappointed that as her first time murderer she didn’t get to really play. After the game, XiaoCen stops the loud girl and gives her a gift. She and Xu Xiao had repaired her class project that she wanted to take home. It was an awkward make up session but both left the game on good terms. Xu Xiao has a sit down with mom over tea. For the first time ever, instead of sullenly declaring he was not changing his major, he looked his mom in the eye and said he always saw her. He acknowledged her pain and what caused it. He listed off the maladies she endured because of the stress and embarrassment. He assured her he would never repeat the harm his father had caused nor ever be like him. This won her over to let him stay. He called XiaoCen to work on the weekend because he seemed to have plans. This was changed when their boss arrived and XiaoCen accepted his offer for tea. He regaled them with his college days and killed the together time Xu Xiao had planned. Too bad he refused to read the room when he entered and did not take Xu Xiao’s hint they were busy. But Xu Xiao observed his loneliness and accepted defeat telling XiaoCen that people had their own stories for being there. At the museum YueXin finally notices chatty guy because she can see passed Xu Xiao. He asks if she can accompany him to the college museum. He covers it with only students can get permission for others to go .

The son is as foolish with his mouth as he was in smashing his father’s bowl. He is causing troubles with the school and now stirring up dirt on their professor and XuXiao’s dad. I now see where Xu Xiao gets his arrogance from in declaring fakes. His father and professor had a difference of opinion and eventually parted ways because Mr Xu never believed himself in error in authenticating fake and real artifacts. Xu Xiao has decided to do as his mom wishes but he fit in one last thing. He took a leave of absence from school and used the time to repair his and XiaoCen’s class project.🥰 He warns her he will most likely be transferring schools. The stepdad is almost too kind letting Xu Xiao take the lead. I have to respect him for respecting her son’s opinions and treating him like a young adult instead of a child. With the schooling I agree, but his sullen and recalcitrant actions should have been corrected more. When his mom was so happy I almost wished Xu Xiao would tell her he wasn’t going to college period to save her the money.😝The jerk is threatening court in three days if not paid 300k. I am hoping the bird snuck a piece of pottery and XiaoCen is pretty damn smart to think it a possibility. Here’s hoping better news in next episode.

As expected the loud mouthed friend pushing things is most offended. XiaoCen is deserted by them but her reasoning was to repair the damage she thought happened the day prior. It really had nothing to do with a public confession of sorts. The class made blue and white pottery this time and all the projects looked quite nice. The man that bought a fake interrupted class and demanded Xiao explain why he called it fake when another appraiser said it was authentic. Not only did this father and son interrupt the class but the father in a tantrum destroyed several of the students’ projects. He demanded the teacher evaluate it and it was a very clever fake. There were not enough pieces brought for definitive proof. The man is demanding 300k and I think it turns out that Xu Xiao’s father was the seller. They are making trouble for the school and making live video protests about their situation. Xu Xiao’s parents have agreed to pay the 300k but want him to apologize. The mom ups the ante and wants him to suspend his studies. He does not see himself at fault and refuses tho says he will think about it. I am hoping the students get a redo with the projects. Xu Xiao’s dad sees the trouble he has caused for his son.

Yang WanJin is friends with the Market Master who introduces him to his goddaughter YuCi. So when Jiang spouts all of her info, he said RuCi had already given him those details. LiangLiang was channeling PengYu with the youthsplain that it’s time for the old folks to get out of the way. She gets kicked out of the room to get called by the city morgue to identify her mother. She finally had a real chat with her mom but it couldn’t occur til she was a corpse. She already has Mr Xu in a dark dingy hospital room with 3 months of care paid for. 😝 She heads to the floor where YuCi’s dad is and demands to know where YuCi is and her mom puts up a good fight that even if she knew she wouldn’t tell. LiangLiang threatens YuCi’s mom and tries choking her. She is completely crazed and threatening Chen Mo along with her that revenge is coming. YuCi hears Chen Mo’s message that Ms Bai is dead and LiangLiang wants revenge. Once again she walks alone into Jiang’s office for a work chat. She has decided to see what is behind the door she never opened. But to do that she has to kill all of dept 3’s projects. Ren has a good idea of what happened and wanted confirmation. She knows what Jiang has handed YuCi to do to test loyalty and the question now is will she really kill the heart of Lysen?

The painting project was the first one Xu Xiao didn’t pass. He was upset that XiaoCen’s did and that he was referred to visit the one more knowledgeable in the market. The one that sold XiaoCen the decent fake is Xu Xiao’s dad. What started off as a pleasant conversation deteriorated rapidly when his prize chicken cup was called a fake. He was upset when he left and it didn’t help that XiaoCen’s little cousin was spying and she was caught observing him. Later at work, a father and son were bickering over the authenticity of a piece of porcelain. Xu Xiao bluntly told him it was a fake and the two started arguing with the cup being tossed to shatter on the floor. He sees this as the same argument with his dad. He is staying in the market to find that one rare authentic piece that will reunite their family with wealth. I think his heart shattered inside watching it play out with another father and son. The dorm girls disappointed in trying to push YueXin with Xu Xiao. This put both girls in a bad place and pressured XiaoCen to find a different partner for next project. What was different is when the professor asked who would partner with Xu Xiao, she held up her hand and volunteered. That was a bold decision for her to make and announce before the class since the girls said they would ask who they liked to work with them on this project.

Their next trip was to the ghost market. They were tasked with finding an authentic period porcelain piece. XiaoCen had an interesting chat with a shop owner and purchased a piece that was a very good fake. At least she talked him down from 1k to 300. Xu Xiao told her to throw it away because a fake is a fake. However, when she retrieved it and put it in her desk I was saying good for you. She had the right to appreciate the artistry even if it wasn’t acceptable for the class project. I am wondering if the seller was the professor’s son or prior student. He had a sad face talking about her teacher. No wonder Xu Xian’s mom is so bitter. Her ex left, most likely to go on pottery digs and she was furious she and son were deserted. I really can’t fault her for that. At the same time I cannot fault him for loving his dad anyways and wanting to be like him. He took back his rabbit out of the box and got another tongue lashing from mom wanting to know why he still cared when left behind. Yue Xin and Xiao Cen met at an arcade and had fun with the claw machine. Xiao Cen’s mom was so sure the huge bunny was from a bf. I am glad Xiao Cen had selfies to prove who she was with. At the dorm the subject of boys come up and it’s funny that two like the pranksters. The downer is that XiaoCen’s new friend likes Xu Xiao. She has crushed on him since their military training. Her friends mention that he hangs out a lot with Xiao Cenbut would she be interested if they weren’t a souple? This is Deja vu to Shine on Me where his character there had a similar situation with two roomies crushing on him. I really don’t want that scenario here.😝XiaoCen and Xu Xiao have a fanciful conversation where she makes stories about water droplets and clouds. TBH, I think Xu Xiao could uses some imagination and fanciful thoughts to see the magic in ordinary things. He is far too solemn and serious. I will hate it if they make the girls have a falling out over Xu Xiao. Here’s hoping they let YueXin notice the guy from the porcelain museum who’s definitely interested in her.

I love the two pranksters in her class. They are very like the Weasley twins in HP.😂🤣 Xu Xiao and XiaoCen strolled down a street where people who did not play with mud were not welcome.😂 Here, a young friend of Xu Xiao will make space for the plate to be fired at their family kiln. Their plate turned out nicely and I like how he watches her face as she looks it over. His boss has noticed her painting skills and offers her a part-time job. He emphasized how lonely Xu Xiao is at work. 😂 A group goes to a murder mystery game and invite Zhao Xiao Cen to go. She is very bad at it and struggles through the script. The next time they go they don’t invite her. I appreciate this isn’t done in a mean spirited manner. It was just very clear that she didn’t have fun and felt forced to participate. This gives her a lot more time to work with Xu Xiao. She spends a lot of her time sleeping. He lets her sleep because it is clear she is recuperating. When she overhears a conversation, she thinks she is the culprit and apologizes. The white noise from Xu Xiao sanding pottery helps her rest so she had recorded him at work as a sleep aid. He very sweetly makes her an audio file so she can sleep better. It is also noted that the tour guide noticed the return of the girl interested in the mysterious three way communicator.

Last episode I really didn’t care for the mom much. This episode, I changed my mind. She was a sweet loving mom that admired her daughter’s handiwork from class but reminded her good health was most important. The class was interesting and amusing as the professor had them choose plates and a partner and then break the plate three different times after repairs. I liked the friendly banter between the groups and enjoyed their interaction. I was less impressed with Xu Xiao this time. He gallantly chose Zhao Xiao Cen as a partner but then wanted to hog the assignment. He meticulously put the plate together the first time and was unhappy with their score. For the second repair a piece was removed but they had to bring back a completed plate. Once again he was going to do it solo but Zhao Xiao Cen made it clear she wanted to learn and be helpful. He was surprised and took her to his workplace. There he helped her learn how to mix the glue and tape repairs. She then showed him she could repaint the design. They passed, but Xu Xiao is still unhappy at low marks. The last assignment was again breaking repaired plates but tossing the entire class’ plates in a container. They were challenged to find the pieces of their plate. I liked how the professor demonstrated the difficulty in matching broken pieces correctly from sites. They toured a museum that was beautifully shot. You’re drawn into the ambiance there. The music from the tiled wall and the interaction between Zhao Xiao Cen and Xu Xiao was moving. They are connecting on a whole different level. He surprises her by trying to recreate the plate they were working on in class and asks her to paint the design. She surprises him wanting to name it. He decides to call it Xiaoqing after she turns down his long name choice. A fun moment was when she realized he could see her moments on WeChat and she wants to get rid of goofy selfies.😂

I was very annoyed with aunt and mom talking about Zhao Xiao Cen like she wasn’t there nor inviting her into the conversation. They have come to stay with family while she goes to school and the mom hovers over her due to a past or current illness. The poor girl can’t get a word in edgewise with mom deciding everything. She is painfully shy and does not get out more than her name when the class introduces themselves. There was one other student that brief, Xu Xiao. But he was brief by choice. I like that the girls in class invite her along with them. They are open and friendly and do their best to include her. Xiao Cen finds herself in a pottery section of the market where she runs into Xu Xiao. He is the perfect gentleman helping her take the right bus and accompanying her home. After making sure she got in safely he goes back to the bus to get to his real destination. It was a very sweet encounter.

I really don’t like Mr Zhou. He eyed Qin and Shen like a tabloid paparazzi.😝 His incessant scheming and short temper is costing him and mom visitation with child. I sympathize with him, but he is too busy fighting with his ex. Sugar goes much better than vinegar dealing with her kind. At least a bit of progress has been made. The banter between Shen and Qin is fun. The 2 meter distance test shown from both perspectives.😂🤣 That poor old man with the vultures circling for his pension and estate. I was annoyed with Shen and aid for letting that daughter put a grape in his mouth and for them fighting over him…literally. He should have kicked them all out of the room and made them leave or deal with video chats only. No wonder he just wants to die. None of them would be inspiring for a longer life with them included on as a daily event to endure. I did appreciate how Shen used them specifically to prove his point about his case assessment. And they could not argue with him.😂 I am curious why her money was already gone from account. Who used it if she wasn’t aware of its absence. I am glad she stuck up for herself where Zhou was concerned. Her tell of working her hands when she lies is a reference Shen will keep in mind for future reference. The one tendency of Qin that I truly dislike is her lying first and telling truth as last resort. This is a bad habit she really should break. I also think her having to live hand to mouth makes her more like a street urchin panhandling for meals. I hope she finds more steady means of income. The banter balances the heartwrenching realities of family in crisis. We also see this from a judge’s perspective since her child is traumatized by an unknown event due to her work. The mesh of thoughtful and comedy are nicely done and makes for a good watch.

The misunderstandings continue between Shen and Qin. The case with the little girl was settled as best it could have been considering her family. Except for Gma, they are selfish and greedy people. 😝 I like that Gma came back with treats and apologized for her cheapskate son. I also liked that Qin got Shen to accept the little girl’s cooking. That was a sweet moment. She was surprised her divorce case was handled the way the wife wanted. It was quietly dismissed so she would not lose face and no divorce happened. I am with Shen that for the long term, this may not have been the best choice. But Qin countered that it was their choice to make and the family remained intact. She also finally got paid so meds for Gma. I was expecting Shen to show up with his court case for damaged property at her egg giveaway for legal advice. 😂 She is completely mobbed by egg snatching seniors and Shen has seen with his own eyes how his mirror was damaged on vehicle. I can’t wait for this next encounter.

I really enjoyed the character dynamics in this first episode. At the company, Mr Seong fought for one producer of Napa cabbage to make their product nutrient rich and tasty. His wish is granted and he finds himself transferred to a location that has been deserted for a decade and the locals hold his company responsible for trashing the land and leaving. He is surprised by the appearance of his wife and three sons and they all find themselves living the country life now. The eldest son is actually enthused with the location, but he is in a party of one. The comedy is exaggerated but not to the point it is annoying. It is just fun watching them interact and it leaves you smiling.
