Negotiations were almost considered with the Tang when Muyu realizes Mu leader is in a bind. He stops the Tang and takes Mu leader back to their base. As they consider their next move the are ‘invited’ to a meeting. The first prince has greatly missed his mark with Tang grandmaster. The elder eyed him from head to toe and called him a disappointment. Grandmaster would have taken him out but Tianqi general stepped in and threatened with his army. That was countered by furious deity who said he didn’t fight but killed and were the ready? Grandmaster smirked as led out of the library to see blind second prince waiting. He apologized and made a much better impression. It was fun watching first Prince cower. The actor exaggerates a bit but does present this guy as an annoying, arrogant coward. 😝Ghost doc night crow continues to be annoying as well. She tries to make a deal with the king of medicine to remove poison from poison blossom and leaving her a normal young woman. She accepts it and the doc king is offered the chance to see how puppet making is done so he can try to make a cure before she creates poison puppets. Changhe and Muyu are at a meeting with the one thinking she has replaced Lianyue. Muyu is excused to make banquet arrangements while Changhe sees who used to be poison blossom. The Tang leader is pretty bold with her speech until she realizes something is off. Changhe implies Muyu is at Tang location and episode ends.

I was sad for neighbor girl to get it thrown in her face how YuYu really felt. She sees what a real relationship is when reciprocated so I am wishing her good luck and a younger partner. There was a promise of growth here and for her bittersweet while leaving but I think she is pointed in right direction and she will be happier soon. The young designer surprised YuYu commenting on how his designs were built with two in mind showing a deep love and respect for his wife. This made him ponder his relationship with Dr Gu. She was blindsided at neighbor girl’s farewell because it never once crossed her mind that she would like YuYu as more than an uncle. It made her think as well. Her invite for bbq and her choice of meal was definitely setting groundwork for the perfect real first date. The task for the tongue dish caused YuYu to panic and he left her sitting there. I confess I was so pissed at his cowardice in not even sending staff to tell her that I saw no way out for him. I had already deducted a star and was grumbling about needless angst at the end. However, when he extended a bbq invite to his place, he knew curiosity would get the better of her no matter how pissed she was at his cowardice. He even predicted her reaction to the table in the hall and was prepared to send her in for soy sauce. When she turned over that picture of him and saw her pic that he described as beautiful lighting🥰 he started to win me over. Her grownup chat in the hall that a relationship is a ‘we’ thing and they are partners that solve things together with neither having the luxury of determining the outcome solely. When he doubted if anybody would be with him she responded she would. He was so scared and hopeful when he asked. His apology was sweet, sincere and well explained. When they got to his house design, she found he considered her anchor and muse but still doubted if he could complete it correctly. First getting rid of the wall opening a window and then the door❤️…It was quite the journey but well worth it. These two….this was well done. He stepped up to his doubts and took the leap of faith to find her waiting and willing to join him. The two fish together will complete their happy home. This was beautifully executed from beginning to end. I am pleased with the ending and the care and consideration they showed each other. Kudos to cast and production for such a humerous and thoughtful slice of life drama. 👏🏻

Neighbor is getting stalked by her ex and when it started to get physical YuYu intervened. Nice block followed by right hook and then runaway fast.😂🤣 This causes her to think she has a crush on him. No no neighbor girl. He is your protective uncle. When she tries to give a drunken confession he is chatting with Dao and confusing her. She misunderstands that his words aren’t for her. The one good bit of advice is her friend suggesting a change of scenery and go to training seminar in Beijing for a month. I want her character to have more substance. I want her to value her own efforts rather than trying to find a man to buy her what she thinks she wants. YuYu does the right thing with Lin. He goes to the restaurant where she is signing and forthrightly tells her to not go. As they leave he goes back to his usual pattern but then he clearly recognizes her as a worthy partner and why he has been successful. The office is very lackluster when she returns. They were all quite disheartened thinking she had left. Turns out corporate is now aware of her value and promoted her to director. Even YuYu managed to control his tongue and address her by her title. Wu is not appreciating her lessons to his girlfriend in how to tame them. 😂🤣YuYu is up for Shanghai designer of the year award and wants to take Dr Gu. Right when she thought she had overplayed her hand he knocks on the door and politely and rather formally requests her presence with him at the ceremony. He pushes her into the spotlight as often as possible and she learns that the man who seems narcissistic incarnate was shy and overwhelmed to address the crowd. She literally embraces him and lets him know she is supportive. The new designer assisted after his one sentence acceptance speech. 😂 He is at his sister’s house and turns tv to show him winning. His mom goes over the top about him and doc which results in a heart episode and her landing in the hospital. She is as shameless as YuYu so I am not sure if her hospital chat with him is sincere or a complete guilt trip to force his hand to get a girl. The episode ends with him weighing all the changes and understanding his mom’s loneliness better than she thinks. Dr Gu again steps up and lets him know not to worry. She will be there. Next episode is last one and I don’t want it to be. I hope they end it as well as they started. I have really enjoyed almost every bit of this drama so far. My only dissatisfaction is with neighbor girl. I want them to end her character on a better note.

I loved the book swap challenge between Dr Gu and YuYu. Lin is struggling because she feels unappreciated where she is and she is not sure about leaving all behind for Beijing. Wu and YuYu argue over Wu going solo. YuYu recognizes that his apprentice needs more experience and this is brought to light when YuYu is criticized harshly over Wu’s design. His girlfriend is annoyed with him pouting over games and she finally shows him the comments and tells him Lin is also leaving. They have some serious words but do eventually make up. I love that he asks Dr Gu’s opinion in what to wear for the interview. To be honest, I thought he was going to get grilled over Wu’s design and criticism of it. I loved that he went back to Wu’s interview video and remembered why he hired him in the first place. The respect and support he offered Wu in the interview made me tear up. He phrased it so fatherly and correctly. Wu admiring his penmanship with sign.😂🤣 It was interesting to see English garden take over the office.🤣😂 YuYu is taking it in stride. Dr Gu has become the heart and advisor of the group. She wisely counsels them all as they need it. Lin’s bday party struck a chord with the group and as usual YuYu had to be the dissident note. He has an interesting gift to wish her longevity. It is funny how he corners Dr Yu at the bookstore when she left office early. She gave him very sound advice for dealing with Lin. Whether or not she chooses to go, he should talk to her and let her know how he feels. They should stay together as partners or part as friends with no heart knot between them. He remembers when they first became partners and what that meant to him as he reaches for the phone to call her. This episode presented the heart of the group. It is sweet and sentimental and messy and sorrowful as life brings change in understanding and/or location. I like that this drama does this. It shows us their slice of life circumstances and all emotions are embraced and shown. This is not a comedy but their life circumstances including humor. I really appreciate how the writer and actors evolved this story. It is funny and heartfelt and relatable. I am glad there are still two episodes left because I find myself reluctant to let this group go. I have found every episode to be a solid 8.5 or better for me. I hope more watch this gem because it really is just that good. 😄

YuYu has taken 200k out and a ten day hiatus. His staff is going crazy trying to figure out where he is, what he’s doing and who’s he with? They are clueless until a call from contractor Sun enlightens them because he is not happy with new site location. They all go to find YuYu and photographer designing her house. She is going to have surgery and will most likely end up in a wheelchair so he designed her home with that in mind. It was a thoughtful gesture and I think his staff was kinda gobsmacked about it. Lin has some choices to make as she is offered a far better job in Beijing. She wants to know if Wu’s girlfriend will move with her if she goes. While she liked the sound of more money she said she would still choose to stay where her loved one is. This gives Lin more to think about. There is a cute moment with Dr Gu and YuYu while he shows her the pics he took. I think she liked how he saw her.🥰 Dao causes YuYu some health issues😂🤣 while he is recuperating in hospital, he hands off the design changes to Wu. Wu is ecstatic he gets to flex a bit but finds it harder than he expected. I gotta smile when YuYu prompts him via cctv and reminds him to take breaks and get sleep. When Wu proudly shows his design, YuYu mentions the style and questions his use of AI. Wu is reminded that AI is an excellent tool, but is not supposed to be the designer. Wu should be able to put his design to paper with pen and not rely on the amalgam of other’s design ideas via AI. He proudly hands Wu his bonus and tells him AI fee is deducted from amount.😂🤣 He wants Wu to have confidence in and value his own thoughts and I found this to be a good teaching moment between mentor and apprentice. Wu takes his bonus and coats the bed with it to show his girlfriend.😂He also presents her the engagement ring she has been wanting as a betrothal gift. 😄 The same company tries to poach YuYu and he isn’t going for it. He admits he can’t work without Lin but he doesn’t picture her leaving. It will be interesting to see what happens to this group of friends. This episode was a slice of life where maturation and career changes disrupt life as we currently know it. We have no idea what the fallout will be long term until those choices are made. Do we keep what we know and love as security? Or take flight for completely new people and settings? Is it time to risk regret whether staying or going? This drama does an excellent job of presenting realistic slices of life. This cast makes their characters believable and relatable with well done humor tossed in.

The medicine king did well for himself but still ended up captured by night crow. Mu leader and poison blossom travel in advance to scout things and Rabbit infiltrates Tang clan to find Lianyue. She finds his disciple and pretends to be Lianyue’s wife. That mini blade proved convincing g enough to look in where Lianyue is supposed to be in seclusion. What they discover is a very frozen Lianyue being held captive because he refused to give a vault location. The young disciple almost meets his fate but one of the elders said to keep him alive because he may know how to open the vault. The Mu travelers run into trouble with Tang group that isn’t friendly. Night crow is watching and is very interested in poison blossom’s poison. She is very impressed by the level of refinement she has achieved. Poison blossom is surprised when her usual tricks are not working and two poison puppets manage to trap her and take her to Night Crow. The Mu leader fights hard for her but he is outnumbered. He gets to send a message but is trapped on a cliff by unrelenting Tang assassins. Here is where I wonder how many puppets Night Crane has working for her. The Mu leader is saved by a man riding a huge crane. The one on the crane works with the theory of the enemy of my enemy is my friend. He drops the Mu leader off to a new location and wishes him well making trouble for Tang clan. The king of medicine sent the white snake out to find help and Dic Bak receives it. They are in the move to assist because the see that help is needed in two fronts, the missing doctor and their Mu colleagues. They are all positioning themselves for a big battle and the one big question is will Blood River and Tang clan be friends or enemies when the chips fall as they may while rescuing these three.

Muyu and Changhe hope to settle the new Blood River in Na’An with the clinic, but the two leading families are not having it. They are opposed strongly enough that they framed the one helping them with deed to the clinic for murdering the magistrate’s son. Doc Bai proves how he really died and their friend was released but they recognized only more discord would follow. Muyu tells him to keep the deed. When king of medicine heard Muyu was cooking, he fled rapidly after making sure Doc Bai was free of the puppet poison. He is attacked on the way home by the student responsible for wrongly using the puppet poison on the living. I hope whatever he drank before capture works for him. Night Crow is annoying. She is a good match for scheming first prince and hopefully both will be dealt with. Preferably permanently. I have to hope that one with the medicinal skills of the king of medicine not made a puppet for their cause. Then any hopes of a cure for the poison would be lost. For now Changhe and Muyu see their best chance of a new settlement is making an alliance with the Tang clan. Interesting move after the result with both clans past leaders. Doc Bai has given Muyu a jade snake to cover any poison he might encounter. It will give him a ten day counter poison to give him time to get to her for help. I am surprised that the city went to such lengths to keep out the ones who brought them a useful clinic. Their bullying ways doesn’t give a bright hope for how the city will develop in future. I hope the king of medicine gets rescued before they can make him cause trouble.

They hurry back to clinic and hope that the king of medicine will arrive in time. He is an interesting fellow. He was not enthused being surrounded by Blood River assassins and wanted to run back up the mountain.🤣 He partially cured her but to expel the poison from her body she needed both acupuncture in very hot bath water and then a good powerful boost to push the poison out. Changhe volunteered because he had no lust for her but Muyu ended up doing it. Afterwards they rewarded themselves to a feast far away from Muyu’s cooking. The brave doctor visiting tried a bite of one of his cakes and immediately spat it out and viewed the rest as vile.😂🤣 The entire table started laughing because all had experienced his cooking attempts and have long stopped caring about his feelings. They want edible food. Doc Bai telling him to start with step one dishes. 😂 Changhe leaves under pretense of getting dessert. He gathers intel on the way.I enjoyed watching the Ice sword master toss the first prince around. He is such a scummy character. I don’t know if she likes Prince Longya as much as he likes her, but she would be quite pleased to spar with the scholar swordmaster.

I got my wish..because Muyu and leader both battled sword master they can have a truce. We were shown some of the history with the leader and his senior who felt slighted being passed over for future city leader. He felt betrayed by those around him and put his faith exclusively in his sword which made him aloof from humanity and focused solely on making his sword most powerful. This was an excellent battle. Prince Langya talks the ice sword master into saving the city with her flower strike. It was a beautiful move that had petals deliver the antidote. The scheming Prince gave the senior a puppet poison so after death he became a fighting machine. When things seemed finished the leader left saying he would send men to bury his senior. But that is when zombie version showed. Since uncle was there they still had three to deal damage but the end result was doc Bai getting a dart with the puppet poison in her. She has a temporary stalling med, but she said it was not easily cured.

The leader of WuShuang is getting his affairs in order. He plans on using his life to save the city. I do not completely get his loyalty to his first but not so bright disciple. He even wants the youth to be in his care. He is constantly at war with himself to do the right thing and his mentor sees this as his virtue. The owner of the gambling hall has intentions of rising in rank but so far is being held back. He wants to see WuShuang and the leader fall. I don’t know if he has a mastermind behind him or not but he is a thorn that doesn’t mind trouble. There has been an invitation for every martial artist that wants to see the show. It will make things crowded but hopefully keep things calmer about getting a coveted WuShuang token. Uncle Zhe and Doc Bai have arrived and Changhe has been dealing with swordsman hunting Muyu. They have all collected in one place and Doc Bai pulls out her 5 poison bugs to negate the poison array over the city. It is set to send civilians unconscious and martial artists helpless. In small doses it is not fatal but this seems set to kill and part of a long arranged plan. Our team seems rather calm about everything. Muyu now has swapped the sword for his umbrella. Now waiting to see if she has just made them a small poison free barrier or is working on the whole city. She at least will get some help from Prince Langya that has arrived and noted it. He is currently reading through a scroll on how to counteract it with a candle letting him know how much time is left for him. Rabbit has been allowed free Baixiao intel, but it only says no news of Lianyue’s whereabouts. She is not happy and annoyed at realizing they are letting her do the legwork for them.

YuYu exercising.😂🤣 Nine reps put him out of commission. 😂😝 Dr Gu bargains with dad to go to a blind date mixer in exchange for two months of peace. She ropes the neighbor into going with her. She also makes a wager with YuYu on getting a date at and after mixer. While there YuYu runs into the staff photographer. They are both foodies and camera enthusiasts so the actually can have a nice conversation and share a meal. There is much talk in their chat group when she takes him home. 😂His talk reminded him of his old camera and he decides to finish the roll taking pics of Dr Gu. He goes to her studio for a photoshoot but it’s not going well. What did turn out nicely was a very pretty pic of Dr Gu.😍The photographer compliments the doc and his camera technique. She suggests a photo shoot at his studio. He agrees but banishes everyone from the office. They really wonder what’s up when he took down his very prominent photo and said it didn’t capture the real him. While his photo shoot is in progress his staff has to show up. It ends up with a group photo. 😂🤣This drama is so enjoyable. We get to watch them all intermingle and how they impact each other’s day. They all hate how he speaks but they also rally around him to see what he’s up to and how doing. Even the neighbor said nobody other than YuYu was especially interesting to talk to at the mixer. They like him in spite of himself and they’re a good group of friends to watch. You can just chill out with their vibe and enjoy the show.

I am relieved that the old geezer’s technique caused the change in style for Muyu. This is where he strayed from the path of the sword — victory at all cost. He did not see Muyu capable of holding his hate in check. Unfortunately at the end Muyu used his 18 sword technique which revealed his tie to Blood River. And that the peerless sword itself deflected the fatal blow. That was interesting. I understand why he wants the banner gone as well as the old man. The city leader has no alternative but to accept the challenge. I like him and hope he finds a way to be spared tho losing battle. The youth he mentors needs him in spite of his opinion on the matter. Changhe is amused and annoyed at the buzz around Muyu. He will show up at an opportune time for them to work together. Rabbit is still looking for Lianyue and this duel has caught her interest. The gambling house is visited by the city leader because there is too much interest in the duel. The leader of gambling house thinks he will stab the city leader and gets corrected. The two princes are moving their chess pieces and speculationg on how to proceed and who to use. I am enjoying the prince who played a fake general hold his own this drama. I don’t know that I want either of these two winning, but they will hold sway in how the game is played. I liked Muyu and father talking and Muyu getting his father’s approval but also guidance to let it go when this duel is finished. I wanted Muyu to uphold his father’s principles to beat them and he has managed to do that. I want Muyu to win but the WuShuang leader to keep his honor He points to the right direction and has honor his mentors do not have. The old man recognizes he made evil choices and bound his best disciple with too many obligations. I don’t really hold his words of any value, but his disciple wanted to honor him while rejecting his evil path. Muyu did well letting this happen.

That spear shattering when the leader tried to pick it up was kinda awesome. The message has been sent and the warning has been issued. Changhe also meets his challenger head on. The three families want no part of nameless leadership. Did he speak truth that those with the other side simply want to displace old leadership rather than the ideals of a new Blood River? That question remains to be answered. Whoever is the mastermind now sees Changehe’s response in bodies. Muyu has taken his real name and fights for vengeance for his father. I would have liked to see the battle of the one master who is mentor of the youth, but the old guy who helped bring cause the downfall of Swordless village stepped in. I am not sure if it honors his father forsaking the way of the sword to go full assassin. Muyu’s anger might be in the way here. He has a righteous cause but I am not sure his father would agree with his methods here. It truly takes a lot to piss Muyu off, but this has been his pet peeve since he learned the truth of his village’s massacre. This duel settles that old score and he has agreed to keep the new WuShuang out of it. That is actually fair as they don’t know the true history of how they received the sword techniques. The fact that the one master used his four best disciples to sharpen his skills rather than having them become true masters says how low the level has fallen. They at least see how they were duped and may now head a different course where they become true masters. The battle is raging and both are quite equal. I want to see Muyu kick his royal ass but I also want him to do it with honor as his father would. Waiting to see if he gets beyond his rage in next episode.

Physician Bai is called out to test her knowledge and seems like MuYu and Changehe both have plans for her success. Changhe doles out cash and MuYu gives free consults and half herb prices. They celebrate their success over a meal and here the friends plan to part ways for awhile. Muyu is going to restore Swordless City honor and Changhe establishes his new patriarchy with Blood River. They are content that thy have set up the clinic well enough for them to leave. Muyu is gifted some valuable items before he leaves. Since he is not free to use his umbrella sword and stay anonymous, he is gifted his father’s sword. He teared up at the sight because this is the only thing he would have truly valued from the sword vault. She also gives him a small decorative box with a pet she values. This turned out to be a ghost spider of great value and strength. This spider quickly won him the WuShuang token he needed at the gambling house when they tried to steal his sword from him. Changhe is a,ready dealing with deceit amongst the ranks. He is ambushed and they think he is weakened by a poisoned dart before attacking. He proves that to be a last mistake for them. He knows who is testing him and that his colleagues are poisoned and confined. At the WuShuang pass area Muyu is treated disrespectfully by guards and it quickly changes as the leader shows up. He acknowledges what Muyu said but then engages in battle because WuShuang was insulted. He is in for a surprise as Muyu holds his own without even getting his sword out. Earlier in the episode, a coveted peerless sword is hidden and nobody has accessed it yet. The spirit guarding it has not chosen anyone yet. The master tried and failed but the young disciple was gifted the sword by the spirit. The boy was renamed WuShuang. I do not know if this is a flashback or current event, but I am sure that sword will meet Muyu at some point as he takes on all of WuShuang. This drama continues to be quite good. The cast work well together and the production staff does a good job with the battles and background scenes. I have not watched the other dramas linked to this one peripherally and still enjoy this without any other history. It holds its own quite nicely.

This episode was very pleasant. After YuYu runs through the pond he finds a pug plushie. Dao is patiently watching them waiting for dinner time. It did look like he’s getting pudgier.😂 YuYu wants to help the dog and peripherally his neighbor. He is utterly shameless putting in his shopping list when she offers to double soy sauce.😂😝 He won’t buy a car, but when Dr Gu offered a deal he accepted the challenge. She wanted her dad to get rid of his bike and travel by car. She told him if he could talk her dad into selling his bike, she would help sell the car. So….he was successful. They had a grand send off of the bikes and he helped his neighbor sell five cars at once. Everybody was happy. I was sad for them giving up their bikes, but Treat Williams would still be around if he had given up his. Some things do need retired after a certain age. It can be passed on to next generation to be appreciated. YuYu learned he was white noise.🤣😂 Dr Gu finally got some much needed rest. She no longer had to worry about her dad and she was with pleasant company. She sees him for who he is and while grieved at him daily for his abrasiveness, she is also pleased with him daily for the nice gestures he does that many miss or don’t realize til later. I really enjoy how well this cast works together. They are not just one dimensional. They give a nice slice of life vibe accompanied by well done comedy. Kudos to cast and production staff for such a well done job. 👏🏻
