KJ2025 Chae-Rok is struggling getting ready for competition. His nerves are frayed and he is doubting himself. Everybody is learning how to get along. Very slowly. Granddaughter is trying to figure out what really makes her happy and from conversation with uncle we learn the topic of his documentary. We also get a glimpse of why he left medical career. Chae-Rok comes to apologize for acting like an ass and gets a nice visit at Deok-chul’s home. I think wife was happy to see her cooking so appreciated. Deok-Chul finally helped Chae-Rok get a good competition recording and after avoiding it all day he finds out he has made it through first level of competition. On his way home he runs into nemesis and just know that things are not going to end well.

This episode has everybody going through trials. Deok-chul’s family force him to quit and he complies. It is the first time his wife really noticed him diminished. He was physically there, acting politely old like they wanted him to but his light was gone. Chae-Rok is disappointed the family decision won out. He runs into his nemesis again and challenges him to do better rather than just threatening people. The grand daughter is trying to get through her job evaluation by doing her supervisor’s schoolwork. She is very unhappy with her rating but she wasn’t investing as much of herself into the job as she thought she was. Deok-chul’s eldest son comes home and berates him for wanting to do ballet. The mom overhears and for first time ever takes her son to task for being such a selfish ass. That was a good wife thing to do. She stood up for his work and effort in family and chastised the son for taking it for granted and demeaning them. She finally supports his love of ballet and just reminds him he will have to take care of himself if he gets injured. Chae-Rok is challenged to train with a rival. They will either greatly improve or throttle each other.😂

This episode shows how we affect others even when unaware. Chae-Rok had to make another delivery to troublemaker nemesis. Here we get more of the backstory on why this person feels he has the right to bully Chae-Rok indefinitely. Deok-Chul steps in to point out the fact that the father’s actions does not make the son guilty. This is followed up by an interesting game of billiards I know absolutely nothing about. Chae-Rok hears Deok-Chul stand up for him and he lets that praise and loyalty sink in. Deok-Chul looks after him when Chae-Rok has a cold. The look on his face of a clean apartment and labeled fridge items. He has not been a child for a very long time and is a rare event he feels parental love. The teacher bickering is both fun and annoying. I could not figure out why intern was so bad at her job. She is really an English major with great talent in a completely different area. The eldest son giving his wife permission😝 He is such a self-righteous thoughtless person. He is a chip off of mom. She is far worse cutting up the ballet clothes. She is a dream killer of those her age. She is so busy building protective bubbles around children that she considers it her duty AND Deok-Chul’s to sacrifice any life they might have in those bubble endeavors. I like that the family has something new to talk about but fear wifey is gonna be sure to crush dream😝

Things never get to go well for long😝At least a truce with the Beast Kingdom king and HuaiZhu getting Twighlight Mist flower to absorb black fox. A very sweet scene with Zhang Zheng and Qing Mu Yuan. 🥰 I would really like to see more of these two. RenFeng is very damn annoying. 😝 The only one more annoying than him is evil mom who now gets a very appropriate weapon. It caters to the only strength she has. The emo demon king is back to wreak havoc. He is at least weakened and wiser about how to proceed but definitely going to stir up trouble. I am glad evil mom’s triumph was very short lived. Her own resentment did her in. I worry about what happened to Qing Mu Yuan afterwards. Her sacrifice of bracelet was for the greater good but has she also successfully made herself a new enemy for them to deal with? For as evil as the Twighlight Mist flower sees him, HongYe was the one capable of rescuing the flower pieces and giving them back to HuaiZhu. Everything is a mess but one step forward two steps back seems to be the way progress goes with this group.

The wishing tree was a very sweet scene🥰 QinLan is finally growing up by realizing her sister’s happiness is her own choice. I can’t wait to see her face when she realizes she made the right choice too. The partners in crime are very sweet as a pair. I am sorry they are not meant for each other, but their antics liven up things. Zhang Zheng’s encounter with his mother was very satisfying to watch. I was hoping the blast would finish her but we couldn’t be that lucky. For the first time ever he is going to live his life on his own terms and the real Zhang Zheng is smiling. I was wondering if Qing Mu Yuan was able to rid herself of the poison, but like HuaiZhu she has only been successful in suppressing it. Jin RenFeng is now teamed up with the evil mother to start more grief. 😝 The demon fight reveals some interesting intel. It is not set up to win and the flower is familiar with HuaiZhu’s mother. HongYe is shown as evil because of his merciless killing of enemies. I think this is a harsh assessment considering it was more like ridding the world of a worse evil. Both our leads have a better understanding of each other after this past scene was played out again. They are understanding their strength together and appreciating each other for who they are as individuals. The Twilight Mist flower reveals she has a message left from their mom, so both DongFang sister are going to see what that was.

Deok -Chul is improving and getting support from other ballet students. Chae-Rok is annoyed at being the teacher but I think he enjoys seeing the older man progress. At the restaurant he is helping a new intern who has misfortune follow her during her shifts. This time it was a rude, abusive customer who was taking advantage and loudly harassing her. Chae-Rok stepped in and kicked out the customer. Everyone thought he was going to get into trouble but the manager was going to handle the reporting and told him he did a good job. The intern was all smiles and grateful til Chae-Rok lectured her about having some self respect. I think he took his own words to heart because this time when his tyrant school nemesis again refused to pay he demanded payment or was going to report it. Right when things were getting to a fight level Deok-Chul surprised them both.

The episode starts at a funeral where a group of older gentlemen discuss life as they now know it. Shim Deok Chul leaves early to visit a friend in nursing home. His friend reminisces about the boat he wanted to build named Forward and the whale he wanted to see going Forward out to sea. He lamented that he had spent all his time selling boats but never making his. Deok Chul thought about that and ended up at a studio where a young dancer was practicing ballet. He sees the man watching but Deok Chul leaves before any conversation can happen. As the story progresses we find out Deok Chul had always dreamed of dancing but his father did not approve. So now at the age of 70 he decides it is time to invest in himself for a change and learn to dance. At his birthday celebration he wanted to share this, but his wife spoke up for him. His children were busy with their own conversations and not really caring what their dad wanted. His wife fills her life with their children and while nothing is wrong with that at all, she simply has no real interest in anything her husband might want to do. She is somewhat judgmental about his friend not having family visit. But from what I saw at Deok Chul’s get together, while everybody was present, no enjoyment of each other’s company had any part of the day. The young dancer is having a hard time as well. We know his mother has passed but not how recently. He is living on his own because his father is finishing up a prison sentence. We are not told what for but something occurred that affected the football team and caused a scandal which they are all still recovering from. His dad was being released the same day as a big audition and he changed his mind from trying out to visiting his dad. What he got was a call from his dad telling him he found work in another city and would remain in contact. Chae Rok is yelled at by his teacher for not auditioning and has added a twist. Deok Chul has been visiting every day since he first saw him rehearse trying to get lessons. Chae Rok’s teacher refused but said that he wanted Chae Rok to do it. This story is a slice of life from young and old perspectives. It is a lesson to seize the day and make the most of it regardless of age.

This was a welcome sight for HongYe to dispose of evidence. Qing MuYuan was there at just the right time to counter the poison Zhang Zheng got from mother’s cursed meal.😝 I would like assurance she got herself healed after that transfusion. Hopefully they will tell next episode. Puppy Li and QuinLan continue to make me smile every time they are onscreen. His gentle persuasion did much more to convince her. She has aired her concerns to all of them and slowly they are convincing her she may not have to worry. I also wonder if her fire gets unsuppressed if that can counter black fox effect? RenFeng is heading their way😝 Hopefully they can counter now that Zhang Zheng can be on the same side. His mother has been defeated on two counts now and that will be a nice counter to whatever her future plans might be for her son. JiuHuo is pulling strings from behind, but his greatest enemy is in Beast Kingdom, so there is still a good chance to get him resealed. Is the King’s hatred of him for releasing JiuHuo from seal or some other grievance? I do not know the storyline from anime so want the drama to explain a bit more about that conflict. I am glad HongYe and Huai Zhu had a pleasant evening, but every time they are just about ready to celebrate, some catastrophe intervenes. So waiting to see if they get to make wishes or fight off some nemesis.

I have never seen Ding Yu Xi act before. His dual role this episode as Qing Mu Yuan gets his background story was very well done. He did a magnificent job retelling the story of Zhang Zheng from both sides - the young master and the body guard double. She also learned that the boy she always had a crush on was him. He had the teeth marks to prove it.😂 I only wish she would have closed her eyes a bit earlier for the kiss. I now also understand why he had so few words to say at the Nangong feast and why he practices sword skills so intensely. He has such a burden to carry and his mother is the absolute worst to add to it. I am hoping HongYe finds a way to deal with his mom so that everybody can be rid of her. It was nice seeing the leads battle together and continue gathering intel for Twighlight Mist flower quest. They really do seem better together when one or both have demon influence. I knew QinLan and QuZhou would be great partners in crime and their adventure is just beginning. Here Shen Yue was perfectly mischievous and friendly. These two are much needed comic relief amid all the heavy stories.

QinLan and QuZhou are very damn cute. It is a shame they aren’t a couple. They both have mischievous natures so they would make good partners in crime. He has done everything except directly tell her that HongYe and masked swordsman same person. Even HuaiZhu has highly hinted at the truth of the matter. She is starting to get out of hand with her pranks and they really need to put a lid on it. I did appreciate her confession as to the reason for her preference. As childish as this character is written, this is one time she demonstrates sound judgment in what would be truly most beneficial for her big sister. Tho annoying on occasion, she has a good heart and wants the best for her sis. I am glad to have this insight so I can be more tolerant of her behavior toward HongYe. It is now more on him to let her know the truth. He should come in one day and when by her put on the mask made by HuaiZhu.🤣 He wouldn’t even have to say anything. Qing Mu Yuan is so sweet waiting for Zhang Zheng at wonton place. I enjoyed their background story. His real mother is a piece of work😝 she is blackmailing him on two fronts. He really is between a rock and hard place. Qing Mu Yuan was very sad hearing the hard truths between mother and son. Her position in Beast Kingdom is confirmed when HongYe and HuaiZhu see her at Drunken Dream tower. The race is on for Twilight Mist flower. QinLan effectively delayed the stargazing evening for HongYe and Huai Zhu but fortunately QuZhou got things back on track before Hong Ye completely frozen. Finally a short respite from distractions. 🥰HuaiZhu was very fun deliberately giving compliments to HongYe on listening device. So far, these two shine the most when demon influenced. I am wondering if the Twilight Mist flower has a similar price as Gold Dawn relic.

Everybody is in Beast Kingdom trying to find out information of Erzhu Yu. Seems she was assassinated and now no one knows who took her place to get through the barrier concealing secrets of black fox origins. Nobody has discussed the Twilight Mist flower. QuZhou and HongYe have taken the purified demon cores as disguise after HongYe’s assassination attempt. I am not familiar with the story so I do not know why Zhang Zheng hates HongYe and wants him dead. QinLan is being sidelined by new puppy demon so our two leads can finally get some alone time. HongYe has decided to delay telling her he is the masked one but I’m still not so sure that’s a good move. The drunken tower seems to hold the key to discovery but they will have to accept a demon fight to get in. Both of our leads are more interesting as demons. HuaiZhu reveals she still has dark fox aura and it is unlikely it can be removed and it can appear at any time. However our leads as a demon pair is very interesting. They seem less restrained and more interesting when their dark sides emerge.

Jang Keon-Suk,the Asian Prince, is next guest with funny anecdotes. He is a very good amateur cook so his refrigerator and condiment shelves nicely stocked for chefs. For Showstopper round he wants to see what beautiful dishes can be created from his ingredients. Chef Jong Won and Hyun Suk accept that challenge and choose to make caviar dishes. Many fine techniques were demonstrated for this challenge and everybody is waiting to see who wins. Hyun Suk makes a roe trio — steak, freshly made pasta and salmon and rice were set side by side with sauces and caviar on top. Jong Won’s dish is caviar prince. Avocado slices around tartare is in center with caviar and tartare tarts like flowers around it. You must see to appreciate. This is a true Michelin star dish. Both plates are beautiful. The second round has oldest and youngest chef facing off. The Chinese master is making sichuan dish and Seong-Jun decides to also cook Chinese. This will be true contest of Sichuan heat. I am more curious to see if any of the watching chefs gonna sample🥵😂 Master Bok is making an atomic dish. He is very calm while making such heat. Seong-Jun is having to drink milk as he samples his dish. You can see his face getting red.😂 The heat of the peppers is loading the air and the audience getting effected by it. Keon-Suk is calmly enjoying the insane heat while audience and camera crew coughing from pepper in air.😂 the surrounding chefs got brave enough to try😂🔥 These two guests have been the most interesting. They both challenged the chefs with their unique palettes.

These episodes are always entertaining but this one was especially so. Chef Maniac has joined the culinary war side and Kwon Seong Jun (Matfia Napoli) is trying out same hair style as Choi Hyun Seok.😂 Guest Ha Ji Won was the first to have chefs try her tastebud preferences. They all tried radish kimchi with an almond and like it. 🤣 They always pass samples of their dishes around but this is first time I have seen them pass fridge samples around prior to cooking. Her unique flavor choices intrigued them. She talked up Maniac and chef Kang Rok so these two now going to cook fragrant dish round. She did not have the yuja they hoped for so waiting to see what they will now choose. She wanted to know why Poong was still on show if he hasn’t won any rounds yet😂 so he challenged chef Sam to do one pan round. Poong made his with Sylvia skillet and scissors. Everyone had same reaction for Poong’s dish……look of surprise and then laugh. His was called mischievous dish😂 chef Hyun Seok said some cheese would have made everything mesh. Chef Sam’s dish was sour but it nicely countered the oil. However, his salmon was slightly overcooked. Ji won has been a very interesting guest because none of the chefs were sure they could win her over with her particular flavor profile favorites. For the fragrant round only the winner will get a picture with her. I found this unfair because she had promised a selfie with chef Kan-Rok before fridge even opened and the hosts changed the rules.😝Nam-No ( Maniac) is making radish steaks and webfoot octopus dish and Kang-Rok is making steamed pomfret. His dish was teased for smelling like herbal medicine. There was an unexpected twist of choice at the end.

Zui is more courageous than all the men as she makes her declaration of love very clear to YiTan at the night market. HuaZhu’s fireworks make the perfect setting for their first real kiss🥰 The friends watching from the side also adorable. Attention to Beast kingdom is coming from several angles…. Qing Mu Yuan wants to know why Zhang Zheng is so interested in visiting there. HuaiZhu and QinLan looking for clues about Twilight Mist flower. HongYe wants to find his father and sword. RenFeng and JiuHuo already starting trouble. The DongFang sisters found themselves in jail because leaked intel about Yuchi Alliance members infiltrating. I do not know what the grudge is for HongYe, but if it does compare to RenFeng and JiuHuo, then HongYe is in some serious trouble. QinLan is cute being the stubborn little sis stirring up trouble and blocking HongYe from HuaiZhu😂 They must enjoy her antics or they would let her know he is also masked swordsman. Qu Zhou comes through with disguise talismans to rescue the sisters from jail. Once out it is agreed the women are safer without them because of the hate for HongYe. I am glad Zuni’s wedding is planned but I am disappointed they played the nobleman’s game of through Yang family. To me they should have made plans with Yan. Period😝 It is distasteful that he is paying off the oldest brother’s debt and sending him off. But if both he et al and the elder are all stuck with Poison King….they all do deserve each other so maybe that is enough. But to see that old man making joyful wedding plans after what he did to Mu Xiao Wu was disgusting. He is a loathsome old man and I hope he hears NanGong bone bells for the rest of his days😝

Jin RenFeng is just smart enough to cause serious grief. He and JiuHuo is one big disaster but both tend to tally much collateral damage. RenFeng has kept the charred pieces of the magic lotus and accidentally managed to activate it enough to get JiuHuo’s attention. It is certain these two will team up and we can only hope by that time the others will have counter plans in place. HuaiZhu knows she needs to head to Beast Kingdom to find out the truth about her mother. She also knows that it is dark history that her mother wanted hidden. What is not clear is if her mother regretted or repented her original course when marrying her father. I think this is also part of her search. Once RenFeng saw her Yang fire he was sure she would want to kick aside a lesser role to the WangQuan sword family. Fortunately for them they have kept their secret of the sword being fake. It is not clear if they can even obtain the sword if the father can’t be found. Here is where their family does seem to fall short in leading. They don’t have a plan B which would provide other options. There should have been a plan B with the care and making of the sword in the event something happened to the sword and/or creator. This seems to be the biggest Achilles heel of the WangQuan family. Secrets seem to haunt the DongFang family. As closeknit as they are there are many important things they don’t reveal to each other. It was nice seeing Yan even if briefly. She is at least communicating with her friends and getting out some. Mu Mei received a reminder of red eyes. He has been healed by blue but she knows he doesn’t love her nor can she bring back red so they agree to part ways once things calm down with the people they are protecting. YiTan and friends are hilarious in their efforts to get YiTan to confess. That both of them made almost exact quote of intentions to HongYe was both endearing and funny. We can only hope these two will actually get together and have some happiness before things get dark and difficult. I want the masked knights to have a better fate. The battle lines are already being drawn and the stakes are high. I want to see alliances with the Beast Kingdom in place before dark duo figure out how to get JiuHuo to the past. My last question is why wasn’t HongYe wearing the mask HuaiZhu made for him?
