I agree with you regarding looks. It's South Korea, looking good is part of the job. My main issue is the comment above regarding the fact that it is okay to lose such a huge amount of weight for a man his size. It's just not. Spreading such disinformation regarding how to manage your weight is ridiculous and it leads to complex for people who can't manage to lose the same weight in the same amount of time when in fact they're the normal ones, not the other around.
The comment regarding "intense workout" is also ridiculous. If you exercise, you're going to get more muscles and hence put on weight, given muscles are heavier than fat. Having the right balance between what is enough to eat to lose the fat without losing muscle-mass is not that easy to achieve. Let alone in two months. The article focused on his weight-loss... But he could be weighting 75 to 80kg all the while being pretty lean is he put on muscles... But since it's not the look you're going to have as a drug addict, the only conclusion available is... he starved himself and health be damned.
As for Ji Sung... He's an old timer, he probably prepared his role way ahead... he should have also started to lose weight way before instead of doing something so dangerous. But again.. It's South Korea... Looks will always come before health.
Love OffGun... First Thai BL I ever watched was Theory of Love. Loved it. Then I saw Not Me. Still the Best Thai BL for me.

But it's actually fairly simple: Most people loved this show to pieces, so people with a different opinion feel the need to express themselves which they wouldn't have necessarily done if the show wasn't as popular.
And it's perfectly okay. I think it's important for people who didn't like it as much to express themselves. It prevents people from being disappointed or wasting time if the show is not for them. I recently finished Word of Honor... which is very very much loved and gave it a ratings of 4.5. Truly terrible. Unfortunately I didn't see any negative review before starting it. They exist... But you do need to dig. And these negative reviews had very valid points made... with which I agreed when watching the series. Had I seen these before, I wouldn't have wasted more than 30 hours of my life on that show.
So... I truly think Hye Yoon and Woo Seok deserves all the praise and love they're currently getting. No arguing about this... Unfortunately nobody deserves this:
In substance Woo Seok's agency is taking legal action because people have been visiting him at his residence. Yes... Just like in the drama. He's find himself some real-life stalkers. I'll never get it.
No matter how much you like a pairing or actors or whatever. It's JUST A JOB. Ok. A very very public one, but still just a job. Wook Seok in real life is not Seon Jae. You're not gonna get the perfect lover boy once you visit him at his house and he also might not be as smiley behind the screen either.
These people are projecting their fantasies on this poor dude and they'll also be the first ones to insult him and join an anti-fan café when he doesn't answer their "love" ( a.k.a stalking) in the way they want.

AH yeah... I forgot the domestic violence as well. Also rubbed me the wrong way. I mean the show was cute but then I really hated that they played for laugh something that would never have been accepted if it was a man doing it. Domestic violence is not okay, doesn't matter which gender does it on the other. I would even argue that it's worse here given it's South Korea... a very patriarchal society... Imagine being a man and complaining about that to the police. They would just laugh to your face.

Not a big fan of Strong Girl Bongsoon personally. The gay jokes really rubbed me the wrong way. It spoiled the whole show for me. I doubt that brand of humor would go well now on Korean TV, they would get too much backlash and rightfully so.
Ok wasn't too impressed by the first episode, but just finished episode 4 and it's really starting to look good. We'll see how the brothers to lovers dynamic plays out. I'm really not a huge fan of that trope but anything can work if done well. After all I ended up rooting for the main characters of Angel Sanctuary, and you can't do more taboo than that. I've got an older brother and a younger brother myself so that type of story just... erg... But it was really well done, so if it's organic and well written, this might be a winner in my book.
Also. Taiwanese BL. Definitely the best. They don't produce as many BLs as Thaïland, and it's not always with high production value... such as here, but they truly ring different. Japanese BL are a hit or miss... but when they're a they're a hit they're a HIT. South Korean BLs... so far pretty meh albeit for a few exceptions... Thaï BL. Lots of garbage, too much fanservice. Some very very very hidden gems.
So, though I don't watch Taiwanese BLs that often... Honestly, for me, in Asia, they're the best. I needed a change of scenery after Lovely Runner but I just couldn't watch another straight romance because comparison would be inevitable... ( I watched the first episode of Queen of Tears and couldn't get into it, so this is definitely not the right moment to watch any straight romance for me). So back to some BLs until I get over my Lovely Runner withdrawal syndrome... and I feel this one, might be a good choice.

I watched the last episode with a very silly smile on my face the whole time and God do I need this, given what's currently happening in the world. For a couple of hours, I lived through the best fantasy romance of the year. Seon Jae you don't exist in real life, but it's okay. I can always see you when I want to forget my daily worries.
Thanks to the writer, casts and crew who made this little gem for us AND thanks for being such an underdog! It was such a wonderful show... with the added bonus of absolutely NO ridiculous PPL.

I think it's more a matter of how attached you are to the characters and personally think the writing failed in that area. You can have the best plot in the universe, if you don't know how to make your viewers care for the main characters, it's never going to work.
