Title Lovely Runner Spoiler
So Episode 15... Seon Jae carried her hero-style in front of everybody without even bothering to try to hide her face...
I understand Seon Jae... You're "afraid of rumors" yet you used Im Sol's fever to make sure EVERYBODY could see you were with her ^^ Seems to me you're seeking relationship rumors with a certain person.
After all she said she's not going out with that policeman, so who cares right?

You might be forced to get into a "contract marriage" until all the rumors that are bound to rise from this die down. Man... This is SUCH AN OLD TRICK, I've seen that contract marriage thing in I don't how many K dramas, you're definitely the melodrama king.

Promo of their interview https://youtu.be/qhSdAshIpbw?si=cv03Y08u3OCJ5k7p
Geez I wasn't planning on watching this but the interviewer has me in giggles. She's such a fangirl. Also they're both too cute for words, so I totally get it. I would fangirl as well.
I don't want to ship them because it's just acting and it's just a job... But I can' t help it.

Wow I'm the exact same way -- loved kdramas but I was rarely interested in kdramas between 2020 - 2023 timeframe…
Your "Currently Watching List" says otherwise ;)

But yeah 4 shows because I'm learning 4 languages ( Korean, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese [simplified and traditional] and Thai ) so I'm making sure that I listen to these 4 languages at least once a week... Though I've been neglecting a bit Thai and Japanese recently... I'm in a very strong K Drama period now and I've seen too many very mediocre Thai series so I'm sticking to just reading in Thai until I finish all the shows I'm currently watching.

Yeah It's err... 4 shows and 4 books. I also have a ridiculously high TBR of English books but I've been focusing on these 4 asian languages for a couple of years now and just can't find the time to read my English TBR. And don't even get me started on my Manga TBR... which is in French ( my mother tongue). I wish I could sleep 3 hours a day.

But yeah I get what you're saying but this actually only works when the series is good. When the series is average or just plain mediocre, I personally really feel the length and the number of episodes really doesn't help. I'm currently on the verge of finishing "Word of Honor" and my God this show is... terrible. I really don't understand the ratings on MDL. Anyway, this show is 36 episodes... But I really struggled.
Also I've noticed in wuxias, they take their sweet time to tell a story but they always rush the end... I'm still very pissed at the end of Till the End of the Moon ( And yeah I know about the whole 40 episodes debacle that caused this end and I'm pissed at the director, he should have made two seasons instead of removing the equivalent of 18 episodes and giving us this piss-poor ending) and Love Between Fairy and Devil. Both series were great, so It didn't change my ratings but they took their time to tell the story as it unfolded, why cheat us of a proper happy send-off for our characters?

I agree that this limitation is really really really annoying. I don't feel like it's a bad thing for the romance genre... But anything that gets a more complicated plot suffers from it. It's really annoying.

Anyway Word of Honor really tired me out, so I think I'm going to watch one or 2 Taiwanese BLs before coming back to watch a full C-drama. If you have a good recommendation, I'm open to any ideas. I've got Viki, and I also have Iqiyi which I use with a VPN , registered my account while supposedly being in Taiwan ^^ For anything only available on Netflix and Disney +... Let's just say that I know where to get them... But I'd rather not since it takes a lot of time.

I was thinking maybe Hikaru no Go, since I'm a huge fan of the manga. Anyway if you have good recommendations it's welcome. You can check my Watchlist. It's pretty well kept for everything except for Korean shows I've seen in the early 2000s. I don't keep a dropped list... But from memory the only C drama I've dropped so far is Meteor Garden 2018.

Also happily stuck forever in dramaland and asian storyland in general :D
Terrible sickness. Can't get rid of it... Don't want to :D

Not married til 38? Unless he just fails at proposing for 3 years Sun Jae doesn’t have that much chill 😂
Thank You ^^ I totally get it. I've seen my parent's marriage, and I don't particularly believe in marriage either... (that's not even talking about the people I mentioned above... But my parents are this old generation that just don't divorce no matter what) I'm also unfortunately very cynical about relationships as a whole. Real Life sucks, I prefer to live in dramaland. And in dramaland, most marriage end up in "happily ever after" :D

It's a theory... And I don't remember on which episode he speculated it. So It might have changed in following episodes ( but that bus IS important on several aspects, not just the number).

By the way, you know time flies right?
I was certain I'd be married by the age of 30 when I was 18... and here I am turning 38 next month.
Don't worry age is not terrible, life actually gets way better. Also... Sad to say this, but most people I know who married in their 20s and early 30s are all divorced or about to now except for one couple so...

Age is not really the important thing here. The important thing is them getting together. Also, Seon Jae is a very famous actor, at 34 he's still in his prime. It would be far more simple for his partner to get married to him when he gets into his 40s than in his 30s... People are just less interested in your love life once you are older. Just sayin'

It says this youtube channel doesn't have any videos
I just changed the link by adding a "/" at the end.
It's because it wasn't taking into account the point.
It should work now ^^

Lol. Can't switch to 90% C dramas ^^ They're just too long :D Also, I hate watching too many things at the time. I try to stick to watching simultaneously a maximum of 4 shows anime included.
This being said among all the K dramas you mentioned, only "Our Beloved Summer" wasn't "it" for me (Loved the esthetic but the female lead irked me on all fronts) , the three others are all time favs particularly True Beauty and Alchemy of Souls ( that type of drama is so rare in k drama land compared to China >_< but SK is a smaller country, can't produce as much as China) though.

Actually it's more about the time they truly meet and get into a relationship. I mean his analysis was crazy but at the same time, he said that based on what's written on the bus it's clearly indicated that Sol's brother and her best friend would already be married by the time she is 34. I'll have to rewatch that video because unfortunately I'm working... But that number might change again who knows?
What's for sure though, is that I think he's right when he says that spoilers are all across every episodes ^^ It's just not possible to see them on the first watch... I'll definitely look all of them up when I rewatch this series next week without subs this time ( it will give a good excuse to watch it again :D)

Currently watching it.
You just didn't pay attention because he looks exactly the same.
Someone give him a lead role, he's too good looking to play second fiddle.

Can't believe I'm doing this but just dropping here to say... If some of you understand Korean, this channel has been recommended to me by Youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/@MEGA-Movie./

This youtuber's analysis are C.R.A.Z.Y

I'm both amazed at the amounts of details this series has that are just not noticeable unless you're some sort of extra-terrestrial alien ( one commenter mentioned that one of the details he noticed wouldn't not be noticeable unless you didn't blink - and I have to agree). One theory he came out with was notably that Sol and Seon Jae would get married at 38 based on the bus number. He also did all sorts of crazy calculations with the watch and whatever. Can't go into details, there's just too many but check it out if you're interested and learning Korean. It's a good exercise ^^

Anyway I think this person has the most accurate and well-thought-out theories regarding LR.

Got to say. K-Dramas have good and bad years, but seems to me that 2024 has started really really reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally strong and I'm not only thinking about Lovely Runner ( although it's probably going to stay my favorite this year - but there's 7 months left so I'm being cautious).

Been into K drama since 2005 with good and bad years and been in a little slump that lasted 4 years between 2020 and 2023... Didn't stop watching K dramas but not a lot of them caught my eyes.... But this year has been extremely good so far. It's bringing me back to them ^^ And there's a bunch of 2024 K-dramas on my mental To-Be-Watched that I haven't yet found the time to watch ( notably Queen of Tears, Twinkling Watermelons, Wonderful World, Parasyte - The Grey)

Love Asian dramas overall... but K-Dramas are still number 1 in my heart.

Anyway I'm a bit sad that it ends next week... But I'm also glad I'll get my normal life back. I'm going to stay away from live watching K dramas for a couple of months.

Thank you for warning me... That one was on my mental To be Watch list, but now I'm not going to bother.
I don't particularly enjoy torturing myself for 40 episodes. If at least it was mostly a happy series that would be okay, but I hate tragedies with a vengeance。

Note translated on Viki but have to mention it since it's important in the plot....
When Seon Jae is reading the script of the movie in the car ( just after his manager told him Sol is not longer involved in the production of the movie), he's actually reading the lyrics of the song "Rain Shower" that Sol has written (well that he has written in the lost timeline but obviously he doesn't know)

So in this time line... He doesn't write the song... BUT Im Sol wrote the lyrics. In the preview, it's hinted that Seon Jae is going to compose the melody and sing the song. Does he compose the melody based on his memories or out of thin air is another story.

Currently watching ep 14...

The irony of Sol saying to Seon Jae she believes in faith and never does anything that goes against it when she's been doing it for 14 episodes.

Even in melodramatic scene I can't help but laugh.

So glad, Seon Jae is as stubborn at 34 than when he was 19. Fudge fate and all that crap.

I feel the pain for the entire episode 😭😭😭How am I going to live til next monday? 😭And after that????…
After that I'm happy to get my life back. This series that literally disturbed my work for the past 7 weeks and I'm TIRED.

I'm going to rewatch it entirely without subs... And though I doubt I'll get another series that obsess me that much during the rest of the year... I'm still gonna stay away from watching series live for a couple of months. Don't want to take any risks.

Anyone who guess about the necklace looks ugly ame can be use for a man .. you are the winner 🎉We still don’t…
I don't mind the necklace!
Don't find it pretty, don't find it ugly either. Just... meh?
But again I personally don't care for jewelry, so I guess I have no taste.

GOOD.

If I meet my Seon Jae, at least I'll be satisfied and happy if I get the same type of gift.

Can someone tell me in the orginal orginal time line that in epi 1 was sunjae killed or did he commit suicide…
It's been revealed already that he was killed but since he was depressed, they thought it was suicide.

Please put a spoiler tag on your question.

Ah yeah, just watched the 35s preview on youtube...
And Sol has resigned?
Are you fudging kidding me? I thought she had given up on fighting against her fate but I was sorely mistaken. She's as stubborn as a mule. Well I get it, he's the love of your life, and you don't want to lose him.

I get it.

But after hurting Seon Jae for I don't know how many episodes, you're now doing it to yourself!!! I.AM.NOT.OK WITH THIS!!!
