Yeah... I initially rated it 9.5... But I couldn't get past the lack of Karma either so it ended up with a 9... I think it objectively deserves less... but I love this toxic couple too much to give a lower rating also... It was just frustratingly fun instead of just frustrating. But yeah Tong can go to hell for all I care.

This was a very flawed show... Some characters got off veryyyyyyyyy easily given all the sh*** they pulled Joe through ( I'm looking at you Tong 😒😒😒).
But at the end of the day, I was thoroughly entertained for 12 weeks. As frustrating as some things were... I really loved Joe as a character and even if Ming didn't do enough groveling in my book ( especially compared to the novel), he still grew on me. Some changes made in the last episode compared to the novel were unrealistic and too easy...
But like Lovely Runner this year... I don't care for the flaws and the plotholes. Because I love this pair too much. I totally get it if people rate if lower... But for me, it was entertaining and Poom and Up really sold this couple like crazy. They had amazing chemistry on and off screen. It was entertaining while it lasted. So it's a solid 9.5 for me.
And I'll be following Poom's projects from now on, be it BL or not. He's such an eye-candy also I love his acting. I don't know if it's the writing of his characters or just his inner personally but he makes me smile when he's on screen so I'll be cheering him on.
Probably going to stay in my top 3 BLs for this year... Strong competition coming in the next few weeks, so we'll see if it stays there given there's a couple of other BLs I'm interested in that came out this year that I've yet to see.

I didn't notice what you mentioned because when I watched this episode, the lines weren't translated on iQIYI so I had to watch that "multilingual scene" with Korean subs and it wasn't switched ( I don't know what's happening with this series and Love Sea, but I've been watching both these series switching between English and Korean subs because for some reasons , not all lines are translated or appear on my screen. Sometimes it's not even translated in both languages but fortunately so far only for simple sentences so even if I don't have subs, I can understand the untranslated thai parts).
Also I didn't bother to mention it because It's not like foreign languages aren't butchered in most dramas but the French was terrible. The supposed french dude was using "vous" which is "you" in English but formal ( equivalent of "usted" in Spanish) and Salin answered with "tu" which is also you but informal ( equivalent of "tu" in spanish) which is rude.
Salin didn't know the basics. He googled the first sentence you learn in French and then just spit it out. When Sun acted impressed, I was just baffled. Seriously Sun? Anyway... 2 new BLs that came out this week in which I'm more interested... "Century of Love" and "Meet You at the Blossom"... "4 minutes" is also coming out on the 26th... Lots of apparently much more interesting BLs coming up and since I'm also into non-BL shows... with work and other stuffs... I'm thinking hmm... I should probably drop this. Also for some unknown reason... I've just gotten the urge to rewatch "Kinnporsche" so there's that.
So... I'm not really sure I'll manage to keep on watching this if they don't pick up their game this week...

But I couldn't care less for any of these characters except for the niece, Min Hye and Pasin. Spent too much time with the vilains... Spoiled the whole series for me. I'll be watching the second season if it ever comes out to see the final show down by pure curiosity but nope... didn't like it.

My theory is, there's probably not enough fantasy related plot to fill 12 episodes so they decided to fill each episode with a whole lot of nothing. If you have nothing to tell, just make a shorter series with less episodes and of 45 minutes length instead 1 hour.
iQIYI should have given the money for at least 4 episodes of this mess to "My Stand In". That one is having a rushed end to a messy but very entertaining show, while this one is draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggging a veryyyyyy borrriiiiiiiiiiiiing plot. Also they're using the same sets so they could have switched places no problem.
At this point, it's become a personal challenge. Will I manage to watch this cringey fest up to the end? There lies the question.

He might not be stupid in the novel... but he is definitely here though... just look at how quickly he forgave Ming when it took lots of chapters in the original novel. And I get your point. I sort of read not read the novel so I'm very much aware of how it happens in it.
I think they made these changes because it was just impossible for them to stick to the original plot with so little episodes left. It would be great if Thailand made longer BLs. The longest BL I've seen was Kinnporsche with 14 episodes and even then the end was an open-ending ( and sadly there will never be a second season given all the drama that unfolded after its successful airing).

Do I drop this? Well no. I found a very good use for it. I'm working at home and sometimes I need to "empty my brain" for 10/15 minutes before going back to work... What to do then?
Watch this. Completely brainless. No interest whatsoever. Easy on the eye but so bad you don't feel like you want to add "just another minute" to your break. Might probably going to take a whole day or two to finish one episode... but at least I'm being efficient and not being overly obsessed with a show to the point of stalking its thread or reading the novel.

You'll grow out of that phase at some point. A good story is a good story regardless of it being BL or not. I enjoy BLs but I don't watch ONLY BLs (and thank God because most BLs are pretty mediocre), but It's true I've noticed on MDL that lots of people who watch BLs have watchlist that constists almost only of BLs which I found pretty puzzling. I hope one day we get to the point where BL is no longer a genre it itself, a time when we'll watch a story just for the story which just happens to have gay characters.
This is not now though. Anyway if you only stick to BLs, you're missing out on lots of very good shows... but your loss. Glad you're enjoying this one though.
