I gave this 10/10 and that is something to say given that in my 200+ dramas seen I have only around a dozen of them that I rated that high. This was fun to watch, and I loved how they poked fun at themselves as well as the genere... Mr. Queen was a good spin off, but this was just different and inventive, not to mention done on such a budget that it bordered on theatrical minimalistic staging... I recognized many ideas from this series in subsequent dramas and it was an aha moment for me.

hey, I think this is a nostalgic trip down a memory lane for anyone who grew up in small town in the 1990 - not only in China, but all over the world. I know there are mostly young/er people here, but if there is anyone over 55 here who can relate to this story, please tell me that this piece traverses borders like there is no tomorrow. Reminds me of Breaking Away from 1979 and so many other movies from Europe about the same thing. I just love it. Still watching it but give it at least 8 for now.

I am actually impressed with Mr. Liang Yong Qi who played Shen Yu Rong. His role gave him an opportunity to play all different emotions and a wide range of intensity of feelings in all episodes. I do hope that directors and producers will notice how incredibly good he is in this role. Talking about versatile... he was my favorite actor here next to Ms. Li Meng who played sociopath princess. WOW! the two of them are the main reason why I stuck up through the wooden interactions with other actors. The characters they played where really easy to hate, but they both gave them the depth of epic proportions.

he was absolutely fabulous in ONE AND ONLY as possessive ambitious young prince and emperor and I believe he played that at 18 years old. Too bad he is asked to play poker-faced one-dimensional roles. Give him a role of a person with ADHD or bipolar disorder to truly let him act and not just look pretty on the screen. He has potential like Xu Zhen Xi. Wish him well!

whoever saw all of this (I just watched the shortened version of the first love), can you please tell me what was the best part of this series for you? The plot? Character development? Romance? I am not a fan of tearjerkers and mindless conflict between the leads due to misunderstanding and lack of communication, immaturity, so the thought of her going through 4 guys in her short life is really a turn off. WHAT I DO LOVE ABOUT THIS PRODUCTION is the fact that ALL MAIN CHARACTERS ARE PLAYED BY ACTORS OVER 30!!!!!! YES!!!! Finally, there is some experience and depth of emotions that come with living more than a decade since graduating high school. I find that while the younger Chinese actors have talent, they really have to put effort into trying to portray something they never experienced in real life.

yea, that's pretty lame. While she has a charm, her character is not well developed so far. Also, is there a reason why we have to watch South Prince acting stupidly with his court and pig over and over again? What does it add to the plot, character revealing or even comedy for Pete's sake???

yea, I am not feeling it either. Somehow the plot is not pulling me in and I really don't care about the characters. I know that they are trying to make it a comedy romance, but I hardly burst into laughter at this... More interested in how the female character deals with being a different person every month. Being a woman on her period is murder, but when it coincides with having a male body... or child's body... or elderly body... this part is not utilized at all. I don't feel the romance btwn the leads

thanks. Didn't she say in the first two episodes that she was 20 when she got married? and he was 10-11 years old when his family got slaughtered that is the same time she got married. So my math is putting them at 25 and 35, But no matter. Just curious.

I am on ep 4 and trying to figure out the characters age. FL seems like 30-35 (depending on the comments in the story so far and the MDL description of grieving 15 years) and the ML is much younger than her. 20? If you watched the entire thing can you please share. The FL actress is 41 and the actor ML is 29 , hence the mismatch age-wise that fits the story. I think, but I could be wrong.

when I started watching EB and discovered Yang Xu Wen was playing the hero, I immediately started Love in Time to see if and how he progressed since. And it was there on the close ups of his staring at the girl scenes that I caught the detail of his eyes. Then bingo! I went back to the ep 1 of the EB and knew how the devil with red eyes was. HA!
