description for non-Mandarin speakers/readers?

OMG! I watched it last year when recovering from a surgery and nothing (NOTHING!) else was available... I didn't even add it to my completed minis for the very 10 reasons you listed. THANK YOU! On the other hand (as Peach Blossom Goddess remarked) it was totally watchable for all the 10 wrong reasons +1: no brain needed for this. Ha ha ha

Anybody knows what is the title that they show it as in South Korea? Nothing shows as Braveness of the Ming... Please write in Korean, Thanks!

perhaps because it is not an outright costume romance? I like the dance of attraction btwn Pei and FL, and the glimpse of *something* between her and ML while there are no definite love stories. A lot of folks want to be spoon fed silly "want you/dislike you" tag of war while this is an intense story with many plots, complex characters and relationships. I like things that make me think, so I applaud this script. Not to mention having Mr. Xu and Mr. Ren together!!! I am at 8.5 hoping it will go up still

Ren Jia Lun is playing really well, and his character is written in the way that makes my skin crawl.... I love a good villain, and he is it! But I am not happy with the perspective of the FL falling for him. I mean, the guy stabs and poisons you, uses you, threatens you and then tortures you... Even if he can justify his actions as a revenge, he is not a love interest material bordering on being a sociopath-he only loved his sister...

what is it about? anybody knows?

I am not in uproar as
1 I never take what's on the screen as a historical reality. Even books are written by someone with an opinion..,
2 if i don't like something on the screen I fast forward. no big deal
3 if something on the screen seems out of the blue or puzzling, I scratch my head and start researching to find out the answers
4 if something is entertaining, I watch. if not - I drop
5 wishing everybody fun day and pleasure watching whatever you enjoy or even posting goofy things that nobody cares about.

But I doubt the walk on the beach in ep 19 was in a studio. The rock formation is similar to the shots of the seashore in 17! There's got to be the on location filming for that even if without the actors!

anybody knows the plot/premise?

I dropped it at some points for the harrowing torture and rapes scenes, but strangely enough went back to it- just to see how it ended. Normally, anything with humiliation and violence against women gets no more than 6.5 from me but I am giving it 7 for the power of the script: this was the scariest character of a psycho with real power that I have seen in c-drama. Completely delusional, ruthless and obsessed beyond imagination, but developed well and carried to the end with consistency. Excruciating to watch as I did not like the violence scenes both against women and men, but it made a point. Still scratching my head - what to think about it...? The leads were really good (and also supporting actors), but I wonder if this social problem would not have been better suited with the modern drama setting, just to warn people off individuals who mask their obsessive cruelty as love. Good OST. I might increase the rating as I think about it... This was not an enjoyable watch, but also a mesmerizing one because of unbelievably good production for such a short series.

IDK... A villain in my book schemes on a large scale, uses everybody and has no respect for anything. I don't disagree with you. He is a criminal and a psychopath obsessed with one person. Yes he hurts her over and over, but it's a movie/drama, so he was written that way on purpose. I had seen better obsessed and ruthless men and women in dramas. He wasn't written well. That is my opinion, and I am just expressing it here for the sake of discussion, not necessary to raise someone's blood pressure or emotions. My apologies if I offended anyone LOL. I like that actor (Have you seen My Uncanny Destiny? he is hilarious!) and I love the actress (are you watching Dawn is Breaking?) so I can see the effort, but my critique is to the screen writer for creating this.... this... don't even know if I want to name it.

keeping my fingers crossed. This is my first costume comedy with Zhao Yi Qin. Still not listed as upcoming on iQIYI in the USA but I am hopeful as they release out of the blue without much fanfare sometimes like with Unrivaled Countenance.

Liang Xue Feng is starring in at least 3 dramas this summer and I was pleasantly surprised when this title popped on IQIYI a couple of weeks ago even though I could not locate it on MDL. I watched it in one swoop as all episodes were available right away for VIP. Of all 3 dramas with LXF I liked him in this one the best as his character was more realistic than in Flower on the Continent and definitely not a powerless one like in The Lady Commander (this title is stupid, but having another Flower could have been confusing - Ownerless Flower or Flower of No Man were other translations). Interesting plot. The description of the plot very accurate. The ending: blah, but happy. I still gave it 8 points because of how complex and well executed the story was for a 10 min drama (not counting opening and credits). Actors played well & FL was very, very good portraying two different characters. There was enough comedy and romance to make it a perfect summer mini.

inmo for a villain he is pretty boring because-again- he is not a villain just an obsessed man. I am on ep 18 and already shaking my head: so much wasted potential. The writers could have made this more of a roller coaster by giving the FL a bit of a boost to do more even cleverness dance of opposites

does this story have anything to do with the 2021 series?
