Okay can someone explain to me about this lotus apparatus terrace whatever its called. I remember seeing the people, I'd expect them to be Cui people, that killed the Yan family take the Apsarus statue (It has different names or are these different things?) from a box.
It was supposed to be a tribute for the state of Yan (is this the Yan family's region? like a dukedom?) It is with the Yue family now, so I believe they are in cahoots with the Cui family, that's why they were getting 10 taels of pearls every year.
Is there something I'm missing? Anything else we know of this statue? I'm still trying to understand the tribute stuff, I'm taking it as straightforward as possible: like a tax to the emperor from each powerful family (or state seeming as there is a Yan state, Kang state...Cui state maybe?).
Zijing knew about the “lost shipment” of pearls. In fact, my bet is it wasn’t even in transit. The sample…
is he even a real merchant? I wrote this before I even saw the conversation with duan wu lol i was too excited. if he selling hepu pearls, he just lied?
Omg bro, what happened to the subs on KissKH episode 10... is it because I'm watching too early..... One line said that sl*t pearl salve is so heartless and spicy LMAO that killed me
BROTHERRRR my brain is exploding with this business savviness of this guyyy Zijing. HE WAS 10 STEPS AHEAD!!! I had to pause and explain myself to truly admire this guy's whole plot he set up.
Let me try and say it here in case nobody else got it. SPOILERS AHEAD! He really let Accountant Wei get set up by Cui Shiji and bring rocks to the meeting with the merchant from the southwest sea. He showed Duanwu the jewelry to have it in her mind another option to introduce to the merchant so she doesn't lose the deal after having no deposit. He pretends to kill the accountant and be seen by someone (idk if that guy was set up). He figures that Shiji's desperation for the pearls will cause her to create a losing deal with the merchant, and BECAUSE HE KNOWS THE MERCHANT, probably tells him to take her deal. Create a contract that will protect him from losses that occur during transferring of pearls. (Idk if he's a real merchant, but he definitely ain't selling what he says he is, Duanwu caught on to that, so were pearls really being shipped over? hmmmm). THEN he gets arrested because he knew his stuff would be auctioned off, including the pearls, which the Cui family is desperate for. Anticipates them selling everything they own to buy his items, them hoping there are pearls in there they can use for the tribute. Makes them spend every last penny they have on his items, ONLY FOR THERE TO BE NO PEARLS JUST TRASH!!!
Crazy.... do you see we're in episode 10, he already in episode 11! Someone tell me if I missed something else to appreciate, I just wanted to put into words what he did to admire it.
Can someone tell me how the romance is? I know its a wonderful plot, great mix of many genres, but if I wanna get into 70 episodes, I'd pray there is a semi-decent romance. I promise I am capable of watching shows without romance lol especially a show as respected as this. But 70 episodes damn! How is the romance? Is it the forefront or is it kept in the back seat for most of the show? I believe they start as enemies right? I heard he is a red flag apparently... Are they dense about their feelings for each other? Do they have many romantic moments, like cliches as stuff? Thank you in advance!
caught up w/ the eps. im enjoying this so much. the development of the story, the characters??? its just so freaking…
Omg yeah I'm loving Xi Ke Yin! She's a very interesting character, I don't think I've seen characters like her in a drama ever before. Her expressions, her voice too! I think she's a rapper, which explains her deep voice, her vibe feels so natural.
Yan Zijing is honestly so done with Duanwu and Zhang Jinran's interactions, he's so fed up he has to mock her…
You can definitely see it in his eyes! When she returned to the boat and he followed behind her, he looked distraught seeing him with her. And him yelling at her to shut up about the extra rooms LOL
Ppl are looking at it all wrong, you could say it’s friendship and how they just weirdly got along so quickly…
What I mean by bromance and sismance is literally just friendship among women and men. People use it that in the other way so I didn't mean to confuse you. I personally don't like it when characters weirdly get along, or just randomly want to follow the main characters along in their journey. I had enough of it in the long ballad LOL. I do like the comedy so far, and its balance with the serious stuff.
I really appreciate the character development of Duanwu already. Some shows would laugh off her lying to someone for profit instead of teach her, but this show did both. We can laugh about the situation, but also see Duanwu experience the guilt for her dirty tricks.
She's experiencing a lot so far that I believe will all be valuable to her character growth. She got scammed out of money, but she got it back, she caught people in their scams (Cao guy, and that person selling the coral hair pin). I love how she is not perfect, and we will see her fail a few times before she can run a business successfully and ethically.
For me it's like a slice of life historical drama Iam not sure if Iam making sense..but the story following some…
It reminds me a historical version of Master of my own. She has wins and losses, she's not perfect, learns along the way, side characters that contribute to her journey. It feels very slice of life, and I too am enjoying the pacing!
The audacity of Cui Shi Jiu... it's not Zi Jing fault that the ones steward Cui sold were designated to be tribute pearls. Steward Cui shouldn't have sold the left overs, but he did! Asking this guy to return the pearls when he already bought them (albeit with fake gold lol). Then, correct me if I misunderstood this situation, but in episode 6, did she want him to give the pearls as tribute pearls to this Prince Tan on his own? She thought she was slick LOL.
OMG just episode one and I can see cleary Lusi's acting game leveling up. The scene where she was being hassled about going after the 15mm pearl. The way she delivered her lines, her fighting expression felt real.
Also, I enjoyed every minute of episode 1. Some people surprisingly say it was boring, which is crazy. I do know why they would say that, it is a lot of background for the future, her struggles, they don't really care about lol. They want to get to the plot.
