I'm just starting the show now and I am at episode 3. I've seen clips on tik tok so I know how it kinda goes but I'm slightly annoyed. Jeong-seok is too chill about the fact she hooked up with someone who had a girlfriend. I didn't understand it fully but did she know he had a girlfriend? And now she goes to her office acting all buddy-buddy. If I was Sunghee, I'd be pissed! Not saying she's good at all, she has no self-respect, she decided to get back with him even after he got married and 20 years later SHE STILL WANTS HIM!! Pathetic. But aside from that, Jeong-seok is not that great either. She is not to blame (only partly if she knew he had a girlfriend, but if she didn't, no fault) but she acts so non-chalant about Sunghee. That scene where she was talking with her friend on the rooftop felt mean girl-ish. I love her character but that is going to be in the back of my mind while watching this. In future episodes do we get to see her apologize or any sort of remorse for what she did. Cause on that roof-top she made it sound so... eh!

EDIT!! Just watched episode 4, lol she apologized well. It was a long awaited apology for Sung hee but at least she did it. It won't bother me anymore, but I'm just surprised I don't hear many people talk about how she also ruined a relationship.

Okay, watching episode 5, and that's it? I don't think I understand his problem... He acted so scared of his step-mom, so dramatic, why? Because he is scared he will like her too much when she is lowkey evil? She treated him well, what is his problem with her? Her wishing the mistress died a bit earlier? I wouldn't wish death on anyone but I would hate both my husband and the mistress. She treated Togo like her own son, it must be hard considering that it not her child, but a child born out of your husbands affair.

You know what vibe I was getting between them... that she had a crush on him. She was jealous of Ayaka. That she was molesting him!! It turns out he just upset she doesn't like his husbands mistress?!?!?! FAIR! Then he says she is indifferent to hurting people, but he is just saying that, we haven't seen that yet. She has only been kind, a little creepy, but not mean at all. Maybe we will see her being more heartless in future episodes, last scene was kinda sus, but It would be hard for me to understand his reaction.

It makes sense he feels like he has no family because he was hated for being born from an affair. But his reaction to his step-mom showing up was weird. EXTREMLY DRAMATIC, like he was scared of her. He looked like he wanting to cry. Someone explain more about his step-mom.

Can we watch without paying? It stopped me at like 12 minutes. I confirmed my account on my email, so that should fix it right?

Many c-dramas have this vibe, the kiddish vibe lol! Totally fair, I can see why people would not like it. I also wouldn't be up for it if I wasn't in a rut haha Hopefully you find some better c-dramas soon :))

Honestly the doctor thing, stuff like that happens in so many kdramas. They got a best friend that is trying to get with them but they remain oblivious for the sake of the drama. I think its the drama's doing. He is no longer upset but she still has a right to feel betrayed and just remain hesitant. She always tried to tell him, but refused to listen. A situation will arise in later episodes where they kinda fight over this, but its resolved quickly. It can be annoying but trust me, her barriers start to break down from now on, except after that one upsetting moment you'll eventually get to (Idk if you got there yet, something about a paper O_O lol). Also maybe around ep 17 she keeps ignoring him, but you can tell she doesn't hate him, she lowkey likes it, but does not want to hurt herself again.

For the other couples, I always was on 2x for them, skippping past haha!!

I really liked her acting! She is very good at crying haha.. She's no super talented actress but she conveyed emotions well for a chill show like this

I recommend giving it time! I also don't like the fact that she hides the child because he has a right to know but SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER (KIND-OF) she was afraid she wouldn't want the child, especially her to be his childs mother. Later on he lowkey admits that he did not like her as his childs mother. She couldn't abort the child, and that is completely up to her. Once they start to get along, he becomes way too pushy as a father, like forces his way into her home. She is actually very understanding of him and let him get away with a lot of anooying behaviour. They both have their problems, I just recommend you to keep watching :)

I really don't see all the problems with the show! One of my favourite chill c-dramas! Sometimes there is miscommunication that occurs for no reason, and I wish the problems could be resolved slightly better. Otherwise, their relationship is so good, I love seeing successful women, the feminism in this show is amazing. I legit started tearing up after watching ep 22. I love how the shows the importance of a complete family, but does not make it look like Min Hui and Quanquan were ever suffering. I was raised by a single mother of two, and she is COMPLETELY FINE! The business parts are calm enough to understand, nothing too deep. Their moments together are so sweet, I cannot get enough of them! I may just have to buy that express package lol People give this show a chance!

Can someone tell me why the grandma don't want them together?! I can't remember exactly what the reason was. She wasn't trying to marry him off to a successful company's heiress, that's for sure. Didn't she only want the secretary to marry him so he marries someone poor to tie him down or something like that?! Yeon Doo ain't no rich girl, so what is the problem with her?

Also.. She does not want anything to do with Tae Kyung, he is not invited to the family events or whatever, but she wants to control his marriage?! This is such backwards thinking.! What are you afraid of if he wants nothing to do with you.. I know you ain't related at all, but seriously she wants control of him yet wants nothing to do with him. So confused!?!

Alsooooo... god the acting from the two leads is so awkward lol! Can't even fake a yawn naturally lol, and the over pouty acting from the main lead. The side-cast actually not bad at all lol! Most of them... side eye to the younger sister. You can tell from the casting and the CAMERA WORK that this is a family show HAHAA!! The bedroom sets shot from the same angles, the quality even looks for family shows, so familiar to the old Indian serials I used to watch as a kid. It's funny watching this now that I'm a little older. So to those saying its slow paced, this is not for you lol, you ain't the target audience! I was hoping that Yeondoo and Tae Kyung could move into their own place but I should've known they wouldn't make that annex set for nothing.

Currently at episode 11 and I have a few things I want to mention, so if you don't want spoilers from episode 11 and before don't read:

The king confuses me... One moment he says San will be the next king and loves him so much. The next he is terrified of him showing his power?!? He thinks San being a good leader is a threat to his reign. Its quite jarring that I wonder if the show did it on purpose because thats what the real king was like, or am I just not understanding the show. What kind of relationship did the two have in real life? Is the king really afraid of San?

Hong Deok Ro, the teacher is a weird one but also I'm trying to understand what we see. I know he wants to marry off his sister to the CP, but let's forget about that now, because CP doesn't know that yet. I honestly don't know what he is planning, what he wants, what he thinks of the CP. Does he want him to be the king? Does he LOVE the prince, is he gay... IDK! All I know is he is jealous of our female lead, because she is now kinda like his closest confidant, his closest most favourite person. Honestly, I would be jealous because I work hard for him all those years just for him to see an annoying girl to be liked more than he ever was in the span of a few months. The CP cared so much for Deok-Im after that battle, when Deok-ro honestly did a very good thing too, getting those soldiers.
But he needs to realize, thats LOVE! He will obviously care for her more because he loves her. I feel bad for him though because he wishes to have that concern and appreciation from him, I wonder why they never got close in all those years being close. He obviously would never "LOVE" him the way he loves Deok-Im, but why doesn't the CP still "HAVE LOVE" for him. Does the CP sense his snakeiness?
This triangle here reminds me of those shows that have the girl, her guy best friend and a new guy she falls in love. The guy best friend was always there, always loved her, but she falls for this new guy.. why?!? Why did you never look at your best friend? The CP is the girl in this case. Does anyone understand what I'm saying? Ignore the snake sides, and think from the king's perspective.
The questions I have about him... In real history were Deok-ro and the CP best friends, if his character actually existed? Did they get along really well, or have they always had a worn-out bridge between them.

If anyone could reply to me, and answer my questions, that'd be great! I am kinda confused while watching, but I'm just going along cause I love their relationship.

Lol yeah! I just kind of stared. Like they tried to make it emotional with him finding the pieces of the braclet but he just didn't look or move desperate enough. It could be sad, cause he is in denial and getting upset at her for ignoring him, but its all because the delivery sucked.

Some points about today's episode!

Wonderful, so glad she died so we can move on, but my guy is not moving on LOL! I'm just heart broken at what she said after saving him. She said she hates him to the bone?! I think she might've said that so he can keep living hating her, cause there is no way that is true. Literally he has never done you wrong, except for the fact that he made you attempt to kill your Xia lin (NOT EXCUSING THIS ACTION AT ALL... but yeah you should've seen it coming).

Tell me why Ye Xiwu looked so perfect in the grave and her brother looked like the one that died. Like maybe she shouldn't be decomposing so soon LOL but at least give her some dried lips, greyish skin, come on!

Also, I wonder if he will still become the devil after he dies. The creepy voice says he will take him once he dies the most painful death. I think because he lost Ye Xiwu. Haven't read the book but that's how I think it would go. I don't know why the voice is even there after this supposed bone was removed.

Also I appreciate how TTJ didn't quite understand Ye Xiwu when she was explaining himself He can't believe himself to be so cruel. He doesn't understand the evil bone and devil god stuff, all he knows is that he believes he would never become this person. Even if he dies because he hopes he would die happy with Ye Xiwu. He trusted himself and wanted her to trust him, but she knows its more deeper than that (It might not be though because he had her).

Disappointed in Luo Yun Xi's emotional acting, did not get me as other death scenes have before like SPOILER FOR ANOTHER SSHOW (goodbye my princess). I guess its heard when his character also used to lack such emotions, don't know how developed they are. Maybe instead of the crying I would've preferred, they made him insane, which is more fitting, denying her death, but the delivery wasn't that great.

Oh.... okay if that is true, I kind of get it. I just thought he had the same face as the guy. I honestly don't care much for his character, and I'm glad they didn't keep that in cause it would've caused more drama lol But not having it makes this segment of the show difficult!

Ye Xiwu is so dumb... her mission isn't to help Xiao lin.. like why did she want to help him escape?! TTJ wasn't even going to kill him! I for real don't know why she needed to escort him all the way to the south too.. Like if you genuinely did want to help him, why didn't you just let him leave. He was healthy and fine, he can go on his own. Ridiculous!

He is a good person, everyone in his kingdom can see that except you apparently. She always expects him to have mercy on others, and when he doesn't FOR THE RIGHT REASONS, she gets mad. He is such a pitiful person, who despite being treated terribly his whole life, has so much love and loyalty to her, and is a great emperor. Poor guy didn't deserve this from her too, heart broke for him.

When he turned her into a doll and asked her questions, she answered truthfully, but when he asks if she loves him and wanted to kill him, she's didn't answer.. GIRL YOU DIDN'T WANT TO KILL HIM RIGHT!?!? JUST MAKE HIM FALL ASLEEP, stupid script writers causing drama for nothing lol. I appreciate drama, but that was a miss.

Also annoyed but interested at how they reunited after xiao lin's death. Like they all of a sudden became really toxic. He didn't forget she tried to kill him (thought she tried to, not her poison), but he didn't care! He just loves her too much, to the point of obsession. Idk if she felt that, or didn't know because she was unaware of the poison, but she went along with it. It was hard to watch but I like how they did it. Glad it was only like one episode cause otherwise it would be too much.

Also I know you probably pushed your family away to save them after you tried to kill him, but did you know why they were angry at you!?!? CAUSE THEY THOUGHT YOU KILLED GRANDMAAA!! So obviously it wasn't TTJ that did that. She figures it out now... I honestly hope she died so we can go to the next arc of the show. I'm glad though she realized it right away, and she didn't hate him till her death.

I am honestly really enjoying the show now! It's feels good see them winning, not fighting. Not a fan of wuxia fighting scenes, but the fight scene between the two was entertaining. I also like how Ye Xiwu stopped trying to convince TTJ after he told her to stop, our girl gets it. After all these happy vibes, I just know its gonna hurt when they fall.

Yeah it bugs me so much! I wish he could be seen more as a good person, cause thats what he is. He is such a good, benevolent leader! I appreciate the scenes though where they show his acts as a king, how he helps his people, and some of the lines he says, paraphrased "You would kill your innocents" or "You started this war," and especially the scenes he has talking with Qingyu and Xiao lin, convincing them to join his cause. He is literally fighting only cause he has to. If he doesn't kill them, they will kill him. One of the best people! I literally don't know how he is so good considering how damaged he is. He is still so strong despite everything!

I'm not talking about the whole science of it lol I meant just as a person, she used to think TTJ is the devil, but not thinks TTJ was just an innocent kid who was bullied, who is capable of good.
