Man this show is quite confusing. I'm getting the gist of what's going on, like how she's feeling, there is a coup, her mom was forcing her away. However, the smaller things, especially on how/why the coup is happening, and what A'Sun side has to do with it.
Are Li Shiming and Prince Qin the same person? What was that discussion he had with those two advisors? At this point in time, do we know who A'Sun is supporting? Are they trying to make us unsure whether the Crown Prince is dead or not?
I really liked her in New Life Begins but I realize she only does historical/wuxia content. Why cant she choose a nice modern drama, Id love to see her in one! D:
I tried... I couldn't get past two episodes. He is a doctor, he's busy, but he is unnecessarily stand-offish with her. Like what's with this attitude? Then he finds out what her name is and he won't leave her alone, I really hate that. He wouldn't give her the time of day before, but now she can get all his time. Some girls like the "he's mean to everyone but nice to me type," not me. I'd like a partner that is respectful to everyone. He wasn't "disrespectful" per say, but I just did not like his attitude.
I like obsessive type males but not ones that will literally never leave you alone. He is forcing her to follow him, and like an idiot, she does. How do you not clue on he isn't saying he'll write your little apology after the third time. Its just forcing them to be together! Like why you eating lunch with him, why you trying to go into surgery with him, why you exercising with him, giving your number (she really tried to say no though so nice try girlie). Its moving way to fast.
I knew from the start it was one of those fell in love as children one, and I HATE THAT THEME, but I was willing to go along with it cause the trailer looked cute. However, this is way too much of a focus. At least in what's wrong with secretary Kim, he falls in love with SECRETARY KIM, not the little girl you were trapped with. You telling me you're basically 30, and have been hung up over a 10 year old girl?!?! What makes you think she'll be the same. The moment she didn't recognize you, don't you think she would've changed?! If you didn't like her when you first met her at the hospital, why do you like her now that her name is Cong Rong. He is in love with this image of her and you can't tell me otherwise. This is LOWKEY PEDOPHILIA, A 30 YEAR OLD MAN IN LOVE WITH A 10 YEAR OLD NAHHHH!!!
I've always been a fan of drama so I love a good fight (but only if the misunderstanding is solved smartly and quickly), and never had too much of a problem with girls always fighting (its better when they have a proper motive). Its was only till this show did I realize how refreshing it is to have no bad female characters. I love the solidarity among them and how they are slowly fighting misogyny.
However, I'm currently on episode 17 and I'm watching on viki, people on viki always got something to say. In this episode they are fighting to end the deal between Xin state and Mo state that requires Xin to give one of their noble daughters to the lord of Mo for marriage. This is ironic because Xin requires every state to send their women for their sons, but its a problem when they have to send their women. HOWEVER, I am not against this irony!!
Pay attention now.... The women that were forced to Xin are fighting to end the deal even they were forced themselves. BUT because women support women, they won't rest when an innocent women is forced away from her home, regardless of where she is from and where she is going.
ALSO, they mentioned in the show that they want to end this forced marriage thing Xin is doing with all the states. The ML himself said that it is wrong. So, obviously they would have a problem with Mo taking a woman from Xin too. In order to fight the forced marriage thing Xin is doing, they need to start with Mo. At this moment, Xin is the victim, however they were first the "problem" by taking all these women. Don't you think its easier to make the problem see how they are a problem by showing them what its like to be the victim.
Ruth Bader Ginsberg was the former American Justice of the Supreme court. She fought against gender discrimination against women. She began working as a lawyer at a time when womens problems were looked as inferior to men. This makes you wonder how she began to fight for womens rights. Interestingly enough, one of her first cases was a law discriminatory to men. She started by helping the "problem" at the time when they were a "victim." Only after that could they see how they were and are a problem. Her story is the same as the situation in the drama. They will first help Xin, then they will fight Xin.
I just wanted to share this because people keep complaining about how the drama is wrong in this regard. All the comments were like HOW IRONIC HMMM, not in a thats smart way, but a idiot writers cant see the problem kinda way.
On episode 3 and I'm enjoying both the characters, the dynamic, everything! Its the first to make me laugh multiple times an episode. I like the FL, a lot actually, but I really hope to see some maturity in her. Like will she ever realize she can't just eat food all the time? Will she have something she is good at like art or writing? Will she realize people are tricky so she needs to become smarter? Any sort of maturity of hers? Its fine being a foody but don't make it her whole personality...
NO, she probably has been showering him with her attentiveness and concern since he fended for her and promoted…
This is all true, but in the show, I wonder if they could have shown it slightly. Otherwise, it makes it feel like this love of extreme side of hers for him came out of nowhere. Like we see her looks of her liking him, and all of a sudden becoming really hostile to yeonwoo. The reason for her love sucks, but it would only make sense if she actually had some problem up there. It comes off wayy to strong just for it to be a crush from delusion. ML not showing any sort of notice in her interest in him is a cherry on top in that sense, makes it feel like her confession really came out of nowhere, and he knew the entire time (cause he didn't look surprised). I just wish he had a bit more concern/disgust for what she said. He was worried about yeonwoo at that time so I guess its fair, but my only point regarding this is that maybe he acted a little bit stronger to her reaction. It downplayed how crazy it was, what she did.
NO, she probably has been showering him with her attentiveness and concern since he fended for her and promoted…
Yeah okay maybe he felt it from her heart eyes she gave whenever he complimented her but he never looked like he realized it then. Like no eyebrow furrow when she was like "Yes sir <3"
That delusional office lady has been eyeing Tae Ha since episode 1. The way she looks at him and how she behaves…
Yeah but that obviously can be concluded to be her just hard-working. She never tried to make moves, just was good at her job. She did always have like heart eyes, but she never tried to cross any line. It is creepy, and she misunderstood every normal action, but it doesn't mean that is was developed enough. Her confession was too strong. Unless they want to make her into a psycho, then maybe it makes sense. Otherwise, if she is a simple person, then no.
I have an idea that the flower is kind of like a the beauty and the beast's rose. Running out of time to fall in love or find the answer? Its 100% a clock, but I feel its very similar to beauty and the beast.
EPISODE 7 was sweet but it was weird. A lot of people's actions weren't developed enough to make sense. ESPECIALLY THE OFFICE GIRL!
I thought in the beginning it was a simple "my boss is hot" office crush, but she seems crazy. She suddenly acted so hostile towards the FL in front of everyone. Like that scene where she said don't apologized, just work hard. She looked extra btchy there!! Did nobody find that weird considering how nice and simple she was before?
THEN we find out why and I just yelled THATS IT!?!?!? Like I can understand being delusional, but so delusional you getting mad at HIS WIFE... not even his gf but his wife. She also never gave the ML any idea he liked her, what do you mean give me a chance, you never tried to take one. She was always just hard-working, that wasn't an attempt to get him romantically. The ML isn't dense, she just never gave any hint she liked him.
What surprised me even more was how nonchalant he was about it. He didn't even look surprised, he just said I'mma act like I never heard that. At least look a little surprised, cause its truly came out of left field!
I really liked the start of ep 6... like she really crying as if her was about to die, cause she was! So many shows these characters are on the verge of death but I dont see them feeling that emotionally. Also how they don't make us forget about Madame Ju even though she died 3 episodes in. She didn't stick for long but they did a good job of making us feel like we knew her the whole show. I just wanted to say that.
Before I start this, I was enjoying the show description till the end. She quits after being rejected? Please tell me it isnt like those other shows where the females only motivation is love. Is she passionate about what she does? Does she have any other reason to leave? Please tell me it isn't soley because her love didn't work out.
Just want to share my thoughts about the show so far:
It was first slightly annoying but I am now really enjoying this show. The way the female lead was too forward bothered me cause I'm not usually a fan of this trope (also considering her ulterior motives). Then it started growing on me, especially when he reciprocated her feelings in a little "we having fun dating but we ain't saying nothing" typa way (she also addressed how she has these ulterior motives but also feelings).
Bai Lu's character is childish in how she doesn't realize that what she does (e.g., running away after eating, running away after kissing) can mean something to someone when she is literally a journalist. Like she acts like a child sometimes, but other times she's so forward and I like it. I'm not a fan of woman falls first dramas but this is like that yet not like that. She is forward in pursuing him, but also not desperate to have him and thinking of him 24/7. In fact, he thinks about her all the time, despite her making most moves in the first half. I love her passion for her work, something I haven't seen in a lot of cdramas this year, so she already is so much more likeable!
Dylan is not the best pick for this role, he does not exude maturity the way Bai lu does. His character is the typical cold guy with no expressions, but in other dramas, at least you can sometimes see the emotion in their eyes and little movements. Dylan has not perfected that craft, it just looks awkward on him. HOWEVER, I don't hate him in this role, I think he's doing the best he can. Its enjoyable. I like the character though. My favourite thing is how he would enjoy reading her messages but say nothing. I also LOVE the communication. Like not resolving stuff type of communication, but the fact these characters can talk like people do irl. I've seen so many couples in dramas have literally nothing to talk about, its just romantic fluffy moment, one after another. They are enjoyable to watch.
The intern girl annoyed me at first, but she really grows on you! I'm glad she showed character development quickly. The best friend and that guan guy, could care less about them. I'm not a fan of characters that act like this when they clearly expect so much from each other yet say they don't and want freedom. Like its just annoying, and I can't get myself to care for them.
Anyone know the the soft music that often plays at the end of an episode? I know it plays at the end of episode 9. Or if there is an entire soundtrack playlist? I can't shazam the song.
Can someone explain to me what ritual she did in the ep 10? She said she "did it" again... I thought you can't do anything again. What exactly did she do?
There is a button to hide spoiler why dont you use it.
Sorry I just thought my spoilers weren’t that obvious and I really wanted someone to read and explain to me. I still yelled SPOILER at the start. That should honestly be enough unless someone dumb enough to keep reading.
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILERSSSSS I might be dumb but I always feel like I'm missing stuff, or I'm unable to piece things together. Like can someone explain what happened with the doll? Like I just didn't understand how that proof worked? Did they take the adopted sons doll or did they make a new one and say there was no evidence on it?
Also.. the smart sister pieces everything together, but she didn't think to share that video of her teacher buying that clip from the boys to her sister? Did the boys not watch the live and think hey that is our video?! Did no cop try to think about the origin of that video?! Only now its being brought up... ALSO the video in the latest episode accusing kwon seok joo of being weird. They didn't think to find origins of the clips? Like there are clips of the professor hugging his daughter in his property.. who could possibly film that?!?! `
And.. the boy. The depressed looking one. Nobody questioned how he got into the back office of that doctor? Like you don't get lost and just end up there.. Are they just ignoring it cause he is young and they aren't even thinking of him as possibly being involved?!
Another thing... during the hospital one, they find out it was on lockdown only after the bomb goes off? People were confused about doors and gates randomly closing and them being locked in but they weren't prepared for that when they arrived?!
Btw... did the guy that delivered the bomb in the hospital die or faint? KSJ made it seem like he fainted, but Joo hyun made it seem like he died. They also never brought it up.
Just random things that have bothered me in the show. However, I am enjoying it lol! Just feel like its here and there and hard to follow at some points.
