Haha, I enjoy our back-and-forth. You don't lose your sense of humor.

Jang Uk used the cheat code as well. 😂
And Naksu intended to kill another woman.

All three should have died/should never have lived. All because of the ice stone.

Master Lee should just take things in hand, do his mumbo-jumbo nonsense and save Daeho on his own and die the good death leaving JU/Naksu together and JBY running Jinyowon to protect that "small" egg for the millenium. And for me, THAT is the biggest puzzle of all - he has the power, damn it. USE IT.

Naksu never knew she was sharing the body with another soul. She thought she had killed Mu-Deok during the soul shift. When in the ice barrier, she called Mu-deok a "relic of Jinyowon".

It's one reason I never cared that much about Naksu - she never showed any remorse for killing another person. But I know I'm in a very small minority. 😄
Ep. 8 TvN description (I did minor edits to make it closer to English grammar)

Jang Uk and Jin Bu-yeon realize each other's hearts. However, he must keep his promise to Jin Ho-gyeong to return Bu-yeon. Seo Yul who knows that Naksu's soul will soon disappear, asks Jin Ho-gyeong to give Uk and Bu-yeon time together. Meanwhile, Yoon-ok who learns that Bu-yeon is Naksu, summons Bu-yeon to confirm her identity...!!

Question: in the Ep. 8 preview, it looks as if JBY is wearing pinkish dress (like the one in todays ep) when standing that the Danhyanggok tree. but in earlier preview (with both her and Jang Uk), she was clearly in blue dress. Are my eyes tricking me?

omg he totally might've seen the blue mark in her eye at the end there!
That was my impression. "I knew from the moment I saw you, my dear husband."

Identical to when he said he recognized her (Naksu) the moment he saw her.

Also I think in episode 8 is when Uk finds out she is Naksu, if you look at the preview, it is his voice talking…
I just re-watched it and I didn't read anything about saving Naksu from Bu-yeon. He talks about protecting "what I must" (different translation?)

Trying hard to not be one of those awful people who says "I told you so". This show has hit me in the gut a couple of times so I understand that there is a lot of raw emotion today.

sorry to say, that offensive word should not be used to Buyeon, no matter how much we ship Uk and Naksu. have…
We all have our own filters (and blinders) when we watch a show like AoS. My filter/blinder has always been that Mu-deok was really "missing Jin daughter" and I wanted to see JBY's story play out. I want her to be a heroine so I always looked for hints/clues about what her narrative might be. The big data point for me was when she saved JU from the soul shift - one of most truly gorgeous scenes in all of AoS.

She stopped the soul shift w/Gil Ju and she interrupted the fight between Master Lee and Jang Uk at the cabin. But the other times she emerged, I guess she actually saved Mu-deok/Naksu - killing the Eunuch, breaking the mirror, possibly stopping Naksu's suicide. So, I admit, it wasn't "over and over again" with Jang Uk, but she emerged frequently in a time of crisis and 'Naksu" didn't remember any of the events.

Arrgggh - I found the article, but I don't want you to stop watching! The article doesn't say she is a main character - it says her story is one of the main stories.

I don't think JBY (original JBY) survives. I have always believed she is determined to destroy the ice stone. Her birth was the start of the ice stone chaos in Daeho. She's willing to sacrifice herself in order to protect Daeho. Well, that was my view up until Ep 2 of part 2. Maybe I'm still wrong, but if correct, she may be Jin but she's a heroine.

If I was invested in the Naksu/JU romance (I gave up mid-way in Part 1), I would be furious as well. I really do understand the anger because Part 2 marketing has been ALL about the sexual tension and romance.

If you still want to read the article, I'll send the link via message.

JBY has never been a "background" character.

The writers told us that there were three main story arcs in AoS: (1) the narrative of Jang Uk and Mu-deok ("Naksu"); (2) the battle over the ice stone; and (3) Jin Bu-yeon's story.

Alchemy of Souls began with her birth and it will end with her. I wrote a lot about Jin Bu-yeon last summer and I thought she was End Game with regard to the ice stone. The hate towards me was so bad, I stopped. I was told over and over again that I wasn't watching the show properly.

I DO understand that most viewers here on MDL are focused primarily on the romance between Jang Uk and Naksu but a happily ever after life was never going to happen.

Jin Bu-yeon's plan is to destroy the ice stone - but I don't think she planned on it ending up inside Jang Uk.

Were you replying to Winter (who used the term originally)? My post made the same point - JBY saved Jang Uk's life over and over again.

That "B***h" Bu-yeon, as you say, saved Naksu's soul, saved Jang Uk's life many times, and together with Jang Uk will destroy the ice stone (which has always been her end game). I must admit, I'm stunned that it's turning out this way because I was Team Jin Bu-yeon from the beginning and I thought Hong Sisters killed her off in Ep. 2.

the tension between jin mu, jin ho gyeong and jang uk in that scene. OMG. so well acted.
I'm not happy that they have made Mama Jin so one-dimensionally evil in Part 2, but Park Eun Hye is hitting it out of the park.

"Nobody really gives a s*it about JBY, j"

Haha, I care. But maybe Master Lee told a lie to Yul so that Yul can be at ease and not worry about Naksu going wild any more??

I posted the other day that the writers were hinting that there was still a lot of original JBY in manifesting ("pretty stone"; animals are attracted to her; she's "foolishly kind") and wondered if there was a twist coming. I think they are continuing to play with us.

this episode teach us that bu yeon captured naksu's soul and used her energy...saved jang uk from soul transfer…
Jin Bu-yeon's soul/divine powers emerged over and over again in Part 1 - many viewers refused to believe it. But I'm not convinced that Master Lee was telling the truth to Yul - perhaps he knows what Yul was thinking about and this is his way of putting it behind him. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I miss the funny character of mudeok. NaksuBuyeon is so feminine and gentle but I want Mudeok. Or Naksu but as…
There are parts of Naksu that I don't like, but I loved the sassy and INTELLIGENT Mu-deok who wrapped everyone around her little finger and whose every scheme worked to Jang Uk's benefit.

Anything I didn't like, I blame on the writers. 😄
