After wondering what might have happened between Jang Kang, Mama Jin and "baby" JBY, I dipped my toe into the topic of "souls" (haha - Wiki to the rescue https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soul#Zoroastrianism )
and it looks like whatever the Hong Sisters have written w/r/t souls can be justified by various religions, philosophies, spiritual beliefs

Can multiple souls inhabit one body? Check
Does a soul come into existence only at birth? Check
Does a soul come into existence at conception? Check
Can a soul exist outside a living body? Check - altho a bit more complicated (as in, only when the body is asleep according to one spiritual belief)
Does a soul have only "one" state? Check
Is a soul a combination of many parts? Check (has it's own term: "soul dualism")
Do plants have souls? Do animals have souls? Check and Check (Gwiju!)

The one thing that isn't really discussed much is the concept of soul shifting!!!

Thus, if the Hong Sisters can come up with that one out of essentially thin air, then anything else is possible.

I continue to suspect that Naksu's real body is on ice somewhere in Cheonbugwan. Together with Gil-ju's body.

Another strange thing: Jin Mu believed that Nasku's soul had shifted into the courtesan's body and he asked Gil-ju if he had thrown the courtesan's body into Lake G. Instead, Gil-Mu burned it. At the time, it didn't make much sense for Gil-ju to do it (although he knew Naksu's soul wasn't in that body).

Does Jin Mu have the ability to retrieve bodies from Lake G and restore their souls? Is he planning to do that with the body that he believes contains Naksu's soul?

Whhhooaaa. . . .I missed the part about a "male" shaman residing in her body. I need to go back and watch that. Especially since soul-shifting is most successful if same age/gender/etc.

Agree about the surprise of JBY's birth - but it further confirms why her powers are so great (the Great Soul) and that her birth was "blessed". Is it too much to ask that Jung So Min be the face of Jin Bu-yeon - if only for a couple of episodes??? So far, we only see her as Mu-deok w/the blindfold.

I think it's clear that Jang Uk and JBY' are destined work together to "deal with the chaos of the ice stone". Both of them had unusual constellations on their birth dates and both of their fates are twisted by the "alchemy of souls". Based on comments in Ep. 12, I wouldn't be surprised if people start looking for "Naksu"s star chart - unless Jin Mu has changed it.

As far as we know, Naksu was born before the ice stone was unsealed by Jang Kang, and therefor her destiny wouldn't be as specific as the other two - but estimates of birthdates is guesswork at this point.

So, can we conclude that Fake Queen knows how to collect the Soul Ejector (powder) when it changes form and then "manufacture" devices but she doesn't know how to cast spells? The eunuch seemed to mock her for her shaman tricks. It still requires mage power (like Jin Mu, Gil-ju, Naksu) to actually do the soul shifting spell???

Yes - when do we get to finally see the Cho-yeon/MD scene?

Is Choi Ji-ho the shaman/Fake Queen? I didn't catch her name. But the eunuch said something about "her [the shaman] sibling" at Jinyowon. I'm assuming it is Papa Jin since we saw him in action in Ep. 11 with So-i.
We don't know the birth/family name of Papa Jin since males take on the name of the female line. So, he is either a Choi by birth or after the ice stone was unsealed 10 years ago, he soul-shifted into Papa Jin's body.

Well, that was my assumption - I'm not an expert on Korean customs but Master Lee said something about someone in the Jang household being related to a Cho - who was also apparently close to Jang Kang?

I think it was Bu-yeon's energy, but since Naksu isn't aware of Bu-yeon's "presence", she assumed that she was feeding off the eunuch because her body is beginning to need energy.

I understood the conversation between the Fake Queen and her eunuch that the Real Queen is still alive and living elsewhere. Also, I guess it's pretty clear that Papa Jin is the "sibling" residing at Jinyowon but he must be a soul-shifter because JBY was ~ 10 years old when the ice stone was recovered. Unless he was a Choi all along - we don't know his surname (original name).

Because the original soul (Jin bu-yeon) is the "great soul" that resides in her original body. But no one else knows this. They only believe that a soul-shifter (Naksu) resides in the body.

Unfortunately, I think Jin Mu figured out that Maidservant Kim is Park Jin's weakness - she is now in danger.

Jin Bu-yeon is in her own body - she won't run wild. I was really hoping Bu-yeon's persona would appear today, but apparently only insofar as she was pulling energy from Eunuch Kim.

What? I knew Jin Mu was one of the husbands. I gotta look the actress up I guess.

I'm guessing daughter of Jo (Cho) Choong. In the preview, she was at a death anniversary table - I assuming for her father.

I don't know about "reincarnation" but I have always wanted to know if Jin Bu-yeon's star chart was special and today we find out the answer is "yes" (unless Hong sisters playing games once again). The destines of Jang Uk and Jin Bu-yeon are intertwined and together they have the energy/power deal with the ice stone and save Daeho. Except Jang Uk's gotta get his act together and reach Chisu level at a minimum.

I hope Bu-yeon survives. And the dog.
