I think Mama Jin is smarter than she appears - she KNOWS that something is amiss with So-i and Jin Mu. -She intends to bring Mu-Deok back to life - but things went awry when she realized that it might be her daughter that she was hurting.

As for the person in the boat - it is Jin Mu, Resident Evil Man and Jin Bu-yeon when she was about 10 years old. That event took place about 10 years ago. She supposedly disappeared 10 years ago by drowning but we don't know very much more than that - and she has now re-eappeared 10 years later in the body of "Mu-Deok".

I understand why he didn't destroy it, but why didn't Jin Seol-ran use it? I think perhaps that is one of the major ethical dilemnas of the ALCHEMY OF THE SOULS. and defines the difference between Jang Uk (who believes that good can come from the ice stone - including saving the life of his beloved Mu-Deok) and Bu-yeon (a descendant of Jin Seol-ran) who recognizes that all the good intentions of the world mean nothing when human beings are involved - especially powerful, mage human beings.

There are many questions involving Bu-yeon's birth and the ice stone - maybe we will find out the answers before Season 1 ends. But since Bu-yeon is in HER OWN BODY, the BODY is not going to run wild. But Jang Uk and Naksu don't know that.

Did Master Seo keep the stone in Jinyowon or did Jin Seol Ran place it there herself?

I now believe the body laying at the feet of the shaman in the preview (and THAT is supposed to happen this weekend also) is So-i. Mama Jin KNOWS that her daughter Bu-yeon would never talk about another human being the way she talked about Mu-deok. PLUS, if anyone was going to detect "evil", it would be Mama Jin with her divine powers. Her apology to Jin Mu was a ruse - She did all of this with the Unanimous Assembly in order to get the ice stone back to Jinyowon.

Mama Jin is NOT as stupid as everyone thinks.

Public Service Announcement: Jin Bu-yeon is not dead. She might die in Ep. 20, but she is not dead now.

As far as we know, there are only two characters whose birth (and birth dates) was directly affected by the Alchemy of Souls (ice stone): Jang Uk and Jin Bu-yeon.

Maybe not an alcoholic, but drowning his sorrows on occasion. Questions to be answered: what was he doing in Gaema before he saw JU and why is his hand injured.

JBY never lost her power. I think Naksu's power comes from her enchanted sword - and I want to know how that sword somehow found its way from the Jang house to Songrim. Did I miss something in a prior episode where it got moved?

i'm not tired. Fake Queen thinks she will be able to control Jinyowon if she is in So-i's body - BIG mistake. I don't think Shaman Choi survives Season 1.

Bu-yeon isn't dead.

My number one complaint about Ep. 17 is that there were no scenes between Park Jin and Maidservant Kim. But loved Dang-gu deciding to take on a leadership role in Songrim even if his plan was wrong.

I agree - she'll try. And Cho-yeon will also figure it out - she's the only one who has seen the scar on Mu-deok's arm and she now knows from Dang-gu that So-i is a fake.

Jin Mu is going to figure it out as well, however.

Yesterday, I posted my crazy wild theory that she eventually ends up in the burned hulk of original Shaman Choi - in fact, maybe my theory isn't so wild since several items occurred in Ep. 17 - discovering that Queen Seo is still alive, Jin Mu DOES plan to shift Shaman Choi into So-i's body.
