This would be awesome. You should create this as a New Topic in the Recent Discussions section so we can refer…
That's my plan. I put together the Character Descriptions/Relationships Topic and try to update weekly. My window of time to spend much time on this is shrinking and if I don't get an answer to my request above, i will go ahead with what I have. In addition to Mage Levels, other "reference" topics will probably be artifacts w/in Jinyowon . Feedback welcome
I hope someone can help with the Korean translation I requested above.
I've managed to get to half way through episode 3 and I'm really not sure. It'll drag me in then drop me back…
If you are interested in understanding a bit more about soul-shifting, I wrote something up almost 2 weeks ago based on info thru Ep. 6; it needs to be updated (but, I don't believe it needs to be revised!).
I'd be inclined to think this show is not for you. There are definitely plenty of gaping logical jumps if you…
PongeAbelli - you are watching the same show and characters I am watching. Duty, desperation, outside-the-box thinking, co-depoendency (the main leads) growing into something more substantive, complexity in every episode.
Now we know that Jin Mu knows about the original JU constellation plate and he is working with the Queen to take…
When Jin Mu realized that Park Jin was aware of JU's constellation plate, it was like an even bigger Red Target on Park Jin at that point. I also remember how Jin Mu ordered Naksu "the soul you need to collect THIS TIME is Park Jin, the leader of Songrim." I still haven't figured that one out - was Naksu not simply killing off mages but was also going around collecting souls??? She knows Park Jin is in danger from Jin Mu.
Now we know that Jin Mu knows about the original JU constellation plate and he is working with the Queen to take…
If I understand Korean naming convention, Seo would be the name of her father. So, yes - Choi would be from a different relative somewhere up the family tree. in Korea, the woman keeps her maiden name, even if she marries. In AoS, they turn this convention on it's head with the Jin familyπ
I'm trying to put together a reference list of major AoS "concepts', including the different mage levels/stages and if I complete it, I will put it into the Discussion Topic area for future reference.
If anyone can read Korean, I would especially like help with the following: In Ep 5, around Mark 27, Mu-Deok and Jang Uk are watching Teacher Lee chop wood with his hands, etc. MD recognizes and identifies each mage level AND ON THE SCREEN there are Korean words for the various levels.
Only one was translated: Ryusa and words are: "The stage of emitting energy from the body". There was no translation for Jipsu or Chisu although Korean words appeared on the screen for each of them. If anyone can assist with the translation, I would be very grateful. π
As background, in Ep. 3, we were told the levels and they were very "water" oriented:
Jipsu - the ability to gather the energy of water Ryusa - the ability to gain energy from the flow of water Chisu - the ability to control the energy in the atmosphere
And in Ep. 4: Hwansu - the "god-like" of changing water to fire and vice versa.
Yo guys, check out this BTS vid comparing the drama, and the action scenes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8zD2mB0h6s
Wow - incredible video. The first scene with Park Jin and Naksu is one of my favorites. There was another BTS of the first fight between CP and Jang Uk and a stunt double was shown in the background (but face hidden of course).
So...i rewatched episode 8 ( yeah i know...) and what do you think of the relationship of Queen and King? The…
Now we know that Jin Mu knows about the original JU constellation plate and he is working with the Queen to take control of all of Daeho. One big question is: Does the Queen know about JU's constellation plate? I don't think so - her focus appears to be avenging her family (Choi) and taking over Daeho. If she knew about the constellation plate, JU would have been dead long ago.
But then, I didn't think Jin Mu knew about the constellation plate because I thought he would have killed JU long ago if he did know. π
That would mean that the action will take place in the past, because her body is no longer there? : / But it won't…
When at Songrim, Naksu's body was frozen - JU mentioned that she would have been able to soul-switch into it - had it not been stolen. If I recall correctly, it was Jin Mu and Gil-ju that stole the body, but they blamed it on the men who got into Songrim and caused the distraction/fire. So, for all we know, Jin Mu has that frozen body stashed someplace and it was a fake on the fire. However, he still thinks Naksu's soul is dead - so the writers are leading us somewhere and I think it's more than simply keeping him in the dark so that he doesn't suspect Mu-deok. πππ
ML is very interesting here, he has depth too. SML is like blandest and good at everything type of guy. But ML…
I step in and add to bloomingtide's comments and say that the FL is a kind, generous woman who wants to serve her community - and then her life collides with ML (who is anything but kind and generous in the beginning). It's a great show.
Arin and Dang-gu might be the "celebrity" and "social butterfly" of Daego, but they are cute, endearing, and naive.…
I think Cho-yeon is several (2-3) years younger than the other Season Men. She's described as "naive" in the character descriptions. Jin Mu is trying to partner her with the Crown Prince.
Plus, if fans can forgive Naksu-the-assasin (a presumably much older (5-6 years?) woman, I can forgive Cho-yeon who, in the end, felt guilty about what she had done.
There are two remaining scenes (I think) from the original 6 minute preview trailer that we have not yet seen. One of them is the CP and MD (which finally appeared in the Ep. 9 preview) and the other a conversation between MD and Cho-yeon. I'm looking forward to it.
I may be wrong - like majorily wrong - but as a JSM fan (the only reason I even thought about trying out AoS because it is not my normal genre) , I find it hard to believe the following: if the producers knew that JSM wouldn't return, they would still have based ALL of their marketing (those gorgeous posters - I mean, My Gawd!) on Lee Jae Wook and Jung So Min. Every teaser, every preview - it was their faces. They are the ONLY faces in the title sequence. Scene after scene of THEIR piercing eyes - including that mind-blowing scene w/blind fold MD. This cannot be duplicated or substituted.
The fashion spreads - gorgeous. JSM has participated in numerous promo videos - such as the recent one w/ the three "guys". Here's another cute one of her (w/eng subs):
It's taken a day for me to reach this conclusion but that's where my mind is today. I cannot even imagine AoS Season 2 attempting to substitute a new face into all of the marketing, the promos, the teasers, BUT - I may be wrong.
Meanwhile, I began watching "Playful Kiss" last night. π€£π€£π€£π€£
Hey guys. What about Arin? She really surprised me. She is doing very well. Actually I think the director is taking…
Arin and Dang-gu might be the "celebrity" and "social butterfly" of Daego, but they are cute, endearing, and naive. I enjoy their scenes and wish there would be more - I can forsee all sorts of magical mis-haps (Poor Cho-yeon is being blamed for things that she did NOT do!) .
Can someone enlighten me what role Heoβs daughter and maid will play? Please not a love triangle - we had so…
I've been thinking that she will at least be best buddies with Yul - they are some sort of distant counsins. Hmmmmmmm. . . . . . Yul is dealaing with poison ono his hand, Heo Yoon-ok is a medical practitioner (PLEASE Writer Gods - make her a mage), Yul finally decides he needs to go to Sejukwon for medical care. . . . . .
I hope someone can help with the Korean translation I requested above.
