Hats off to the writers for giving us another outstanding episode. Episode 8 is usually when a major development…
"Also, is Hyun-yoo actually still working for Queens?"
From the previews, it appears that he is still there. Since he is the squeakiest clean of all squeaky clean kdrama heroes, they can't fire him "for cause", so if Eun Seong tries, then Hyun Woo can sue for wrongful discharge. I guess I should stipulate that this would be the situation in the USA, but pretty sure South Korea would be the same.
Agree w/you about Da Hye - I wonder if she holds some stock that the Evil Gang assumes will never be used against them??
I just caught this scene in Ep. 7: Father Hong asked if Hyun Woo admitted to signing the divorce papers. His wife said "who gives a f**k". Well, she didn't really say that, but I thought it was interesting that the question was asked - but not answered.
So, if his seal was done by someone else (which I believe with my whole heart because we never saw him do the deed), then. . . . tada - divorce may not be legal.
Korean might like romance and comedies but they LOVE corporate intrigue, secrets and heroes who rebound and save the day and Queen of Tears has it all.
Despite being a cretin, I do feel for SooCheol. She did him dirty, the poor bastard thought he was growing a family,…
When I get obsessed with a drama (the type that has mysteries and secrets, lol), I keep a big notebook and I frequently prepare timelines/history (which I posted in the discussion forum - needs to updated, lol).
Anyway, I just checked my notebook and then re-watched Episode 6, and at Mark 1.11: " Sun-yeong was arrested for adultery three years prior to her death. She gave birth behind bars. " Yes, 30 years ago, adultery was illegal. And now your question compelled me to do research and (whether the drama follows the legal niceties or not, we shall see) but the charge of adultery is brought by the SPOUSE of the cheater. So, if they are following the law at that time, she was married and it was her husband that brought the charges. Big shock to me!
So, based upon that - it is possible that she cheated with the chairman or another Hong family member but it was her husband at the time that charged her with adultery. I am now re-thinking everything. But if she cheated with the chairman or another close family member, they knew her as Sun-yeong.
There's still a great deal we don't know about that era - who was there at the time of the boat accident? Why did Eun Seong kill the dog? why did he go to the USA right after killing the dog? Happy sleuthing. π
Whatever the outcome, I'm enjoying reading the speculation and theories everyone has. Stay tuned. π
If HI is actually suffering the effects of poisoning, then it's likely because Seul Hee did not like the attachment…
I admit that I wasn't able to watch the full episode w/out heavy FF finger - Got out of the bed as soon as it released on Netflix, but w/in an hour was committed to Easter family stuff.
I guess this answer would be a spoiler( so please tag if you are able to respond) but does Grace know that Eun Seong is the mistress' son? Does she know that the Mistress has been the mastermind? Because before today, the answer was "no" to those questions.
Despite being a cretin, I do feel for SooCheol. She did him dirty, the poor bastard thought he was growing a family,…
She became his mistress THIRTY years ago - almost immediately after leaving prison and assuming a new identity. Eun-seong is 34 years old. If he was the Chairman's son, then the Chairman would have known her previously by her birth name - before she went to prison for adultery.
In order to commit adultery, there must be a wife. And there is nothing to indicate that the uncle was married at any time. In fact, the moment the Grandmother died, Uncle was falsely accused of embezzlement and expelled from Queens Group (but I bet he still holds some stockπ)
She had access to the money because SHE WAS IN CHARGE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND ((sorry for the caps, but it's important) going all the way back to the time that they were providing scholarships to the orphans. Grandmother wasn't in charge of the scholarship fund, his mistress was (perhaps that's how they met? perhaps she assumed the identity of the woman who was supposed to head the scholarship fund. I don't know - but i'm positive that she was using those funds to pay for Eun Seong's sojourn in the uSA. And for Da Hye as well.
If HI is actually suffering the effects of poisoning, then it's likely because Seul Hee did not like the attachment…
Seul Hee had no idea that her son was obsessed with Hae-in. In fact, I'm not sure that she does know yet.
It's possible she may have instructed him to try and woo Haae-in when they were at University in the USA, but in her mind it was always part of the scam.
His job was to gain the trust of the family - but Hae In never went along with it - thus Soo Cheol became the target.
At some point, her son is going to betray her. I know nothing about the actress, but she really doesn't seem to be up to "crazy insanity" the way Auntie Hong actress can do it. Maybe it will be cold-blooded insanity.

"who the freak would have all that money to send him to school with a 60k USD tuition per year? His mom hadn't swindled her way into the Chairman's house yet at the time!"
mistress Bitch was his mistress at the time and in charge of the Queens Scholarship program. That's why she was the orphanage back then - they were holding a scholarship ceremony.
My assumption is that She was embezzling from the fund to pay for the US family and school.
That's how I connect the dots, but there might be a different answer.
Anyway that scene when Hae In was mad and looking at the cctv to change the song is so cute π I love the reverse…
And this was before he knew who she was. I'm looking forward to the flashbacks when he found out that she was chaebol, resigned from the company and left.
In fact, I think there will be a reversal in the flashbacks/eplogues. Up to now, we heard how Hyun Woo was feeling during their courtship - be by her side, protect her, etc.
But we haven't seen flashbacks of what she was feeling or what she said. I bet the family meeting was epic when she them all who she was going to marry.
Well, this went exactly as I expected. I reached the point where I couldn't wait for them to lose their wealth…
It will be fascinating (for me anyway) because now the Hero Hyun Woo will be the one counter-punching. He already was, of course, but Eun seong realized that Hyun Woo was on to him and speeded things up.
I also just rewatched the funeral scene and she says and i quote " even if i lose my memory down the road, i will…
Have you seen my earlier post re: the pre-release for Ep. 8??? Flashback to when they were dating? Such a beautiful scene. Here - take a look. NO WAY there won't be the happiest ending of all kdrama land. Keep the Faith!!ππ
I don't understand why the writer made such unlikable characters... and so many
Answer: So. That. They. Can. Be. Redeemed.
Except for the obvious villains, of course, who, if the kdrama Gods are listening, will most certainly involve Hyun Woo doing the Kill Shot w/his sniper skills on Yoon Eun Seong. Through the EYE. Like the Boar.

It would be a cheap trick by the writers if she was playing him -- I don't think they would make her that nasty (telling him she loves him and then laughing at him when he's gullible enough to believe her??)

Great news since it's higher than last Saturday (Episode 5). [Saturdays are almost always lower because folks aren't sitting in front of their TVs watching "live" as the show airs.

I agree that he will claim that he saved her, but I also think it was Hyun Woo who saved her since he was also there that day.
More revelations to come. π
If anyone planned the boat accident, it was Mistress Bitch. (In my humble opinion, of course).
finally, Hyun Woo was also there at the time of the "mysterious" boat accident.
That Youtuber is frequently wrong with her predictions - take it all with a grain of salt.
