I understand your point, I just disagree. It's not victim blaming it's victim empowering. These palace stories are always great to reflect on human nature.
I just think you always play a role in everything you decide or that happens to you. Because of how we are made as humans. The worst thing you can do to someone is have them believe they are just spectators of their own life and were totally unable to determine anything in it.

I meant vanity as in his jealousy, fear, self-absorption and greed for a false feeling of power. It's true he was manipulated but he also allowed the manipulation. He still chose who to trust, to doubt, and to distrust. Just like he chose who to marry and who to kill.
I don't believe in putting the entire blame of someone's decisions and actions on everybody else than themselves as we are still humans not things. There will always be your own greed, instincts, will, mind and inner thoughts. That's why I don't like the king. LOL He reminds me of the Yuan emperor in Empress Ki. He sure has a lot against him, but still he chooses wrong, and that is on him.

I hate that the grim reaper is that stupid useless king. I was hoping he was also some kind of hero who killed for war or whatever reason but not innocent people for his own vanity. :(

Well...with so many bad reviews and comments...even if the synopsis caught my attention...after watching a bit, I decided to drop it. I'm kinda getting tired of this ability of K-writers to ruin their dramas, so I won't go through the disappointment with this one.

Wow...synopsis sounds so interesting and different. How the hell did I manage to overlook this one? Surely I'm gonna try this. Rated 8.9 by more than 6 000 people...hmmm....must be really cool.

Yeeeay! LOVE this article. I usually love the secretaries, the crazier their boss is the funnier they are themselves. I really liked the secretary in High End Crush. lol

@reika I explained what I find is similar to DOTS, the way they use deus ex machina + very weak plot + fan service scenes. That's my opinion.

No I did not. It's the second comment I wanted to edit for a typo, but I went in the first that's why it's marked edited. I did not change it. Why would I? That's what I wrote from the start no strong plot. That's also what was overlooked.

I don't know how old some of you people are but you shouldn't think with emotions. Thoughts and feelings are not the same. It's like you didn't really read what I wrote, or maybe didn't understand it, and just got worked up. I said the plot is weak not that it doesn't exist. 'The story is also very weak. The problem is that they build it to display romantic scenes and cute looking people for fan service, it's not made properly...like with a natural dramatic flow, too many deus ex machina. This was the problem with DOTS so I find it's similar in this sense.
It's ok if you don't get what I mean.

@elvirad: I do agree that both leads are great actors. They convey so many feelings with just their facial expressions.

This drama is like DOTS. There is no real story nor strong plot. The scenes and development are made for fan service. It's cute and cliché but to me it's still disappointing. :/

I'm watching this again and I must say I can't stand He Yi Mei and my favourite character is old Yuan because he's funny and likes gossip too much!!!! LOL
