Wow! I'm sorry but you don't build a fulfilling, trustworthy and happy marriage covering up the biggest betrayal of wedding vows: cheating..such a truth hidden is like a tick bomb! This is one huge weakness in this plot.
The main female lead, Mi Yeong is a real dirty tramp, no wonder my friend Docnty says these characters show women's…
OMG I was thinking the same as Serap!!! looool Not only did he cheat, he kept on hiding it.
Am not a fan of this movie though, both characters are messed up in my opinion, so in the end they suit each other he he he! :)
Don't overdo it cuz you never know who you're dealing with....I bet they regretted not just releasing the little girl as promised.
Great movie, had to pause sometimes it's so bloody but still enjoyed it.
I was so traumatized by the ending of Ballad of the desert (Mo Xun), I don't think I can stomach another Tong Hua story...too depressing, they all should be labeled as tragedies, even with a happy ending she still leaves you a sour taste. That's her signature writing -_-
I read the novel and I find their romance unhealthy. I'm not a fan of obsessional love (very unhealthy) and stubborn noble idiocy, and the story has both...-_-.
I do feel really sorry for both of them though, it's such a melodrama, especially Li Chuan, his life is just heartbreaking, it's hard not to pity him once you discover the whole ''secret'',. The way they both love is ...to me... a bit stupid, very toxic...very destructive.
I usually enjoy dramas with mafia gangsters but I don't know why...it's my third time trying to watch this drama and I just can't get into it. Dropped it again. smh
The guy that played Zuo Zhen was great. I'm impressed with his portrayal, his face, his movements, his tone everything suited perfectly the cold, composed almost emotionless Er Ye of the novel, still his eyes would say it all.
I didn't like the second half of the drama. They ruined the story with too much drama and ruined many characters, especially Jin Xiu....well she was never really smart from the beginning with the way she handled him and her feelings but the 360 in her character plus all the silly decisions were too much. I felt the female audience service with the plot too strong. The whole "no matter how bad she treats him and cruel she is, he remains devoted and faithful and won't stray away" was brought to far in my opinion. Also the everlasting "I hate you because of misunderstanding, but I can never openly say what it is" was tiresome. It was not brought up well, was too weak, in the sense that she wholeheartdly believed a total stranger without any hesitation, that was a weak plot point. She was supposed to be smart but did so many stupid things smh looool.
Anyways, it was still an enjoyable drama.
Ren not confronting his mom about what she did to Mu Cheng 6 years ago. Neither MC told him why she left him which…
No it was not the most important plot point because whether she said it or not, Mu Cheng decided to leave him and after to lie. She was under no obligation to follow, that's even why she ran out of the car to get him after the surgery, but sadly didn't see him. The main plot with the mom was the father story, and with Mu Cheng was the lack of trust in his love. It's a beautiful story of how both women loved him deeply but in the wrong and selfish way: stealing from him his right to choose his life, and right to know the truth about his life.
There're so many things I like about this drama. But the top 2:
The female lead was so gentle, her face exhaled softness and I love how loving she was with her son...you get why it touched the guy so deeply.
I have a soft spot for cold heartless male leads with deep emotional trauma that change through time, I guess I just love to see icy hearts melt by the warmth of kindness and care. It's also why one of my favorite scenes is the one with the lead guy and his dad ep 28, so heartwarming and sad, but so touching to see how far he's come.
Anyways, this drama reminds me of Autumn's concerto, I really really like it.
I remember the first time I watched it, I dropped it ep 5 because I couldn't stand Mu Cheng and the stupid clichés. Then I don't know why one day I decided to give it another try and just skip what annoyed me, then I realized it was getting so good, the second half with the kid felt like another drama. In the end, this drama became one of my all time favs...lol...now even the beginning which I disliked seems great to me. looool
This is my 4th time watching it....ah ah ah....
Gosh I must confess now I'm watching it only for Xiao Le not even the romance, that little buddy is the cutest thing EVEEEEER! :)
Honestly by the end of the drama i grew to despise Zhen Huan. Ultimately she has no one to blame but herself for…
She went back only to save her baby not for the ex. It was an agony having to put up with the palace (and him) again, she explains it... but she decides it's the best way to survive with her baby. She thought wrong at the moment but you can understand her logic.
The emperor deserved his death because he wronged too many people and at one point became delusional.
He had no obligation to kill his brother since he had no proof just his gut instinct...and he didn't even love Zhen Huan, he killed out of pride not even jealousy. Why do you think he trapped him? Because he could not lawfully kill him. I don't feel his death was unfair since I don't think effective ruling atones for all his ruthless cruelty.
I also think there was nothing wrong with Zhen Huan. The only crime she committed was to kill the one who ruined her whole life, unlike the others who did wrong for pride, envy, jealousy, greed etc. (ex: queen killing her own sister out of greed and jealousy, the frenemy betraying everybody for revenge or jealousy)
So as you see we really didn't perceive the drama the same way.
The ending is scary...smdh
