Lucky you! But I guess if I binge watched this, I might end up heart broken for a week or so. Now I only need to find something funny of similar quality XD

I am now at epsiode 7 with subs and omg I need A BREAK! I am so afraid of the storm that is brewing since he talled to his 师父 (shifu/teacher) and now he is on his way to his father. I stopped right there. I am too afraid to continue. How do you handle this?omg I need emotional support watching this... maybe wait till it is all over??? Somehow I made it throught Peach Blossom, too but I had all the episodes subbed. I am inexperienced with these feelings XD

That you so much, you are the best. <3 This makes a lot more sense now. I guess I was just upset about her hurting him so often, even if it is just the slaps for comedy now and then. I hope he will learn to give her the freedom she wants and they both find to each other ;3 But I think this is where this story is heading to atm
Usually, I am all happy with Viki/other sides having my dramas with subs even when they are not airing it in my region, bc then my usual sides (like dramanice, kissasian) upload them quicker with subtitles than they otherwise would. Sadly though, for some reason, it does not seem that easy with Amazon prime... I do not like the current trend of how Dramas air and get translated (or not translated). There has to be a better way! x.x Even if I wanted to pay money to watch my shows, I most often can't and need to resort to websites that will not give any money to the content creators. I wonder what the future holds for us and if we forever need to rely on fan subs instead of getting a proper pay model and even sub smaller series (or faster sub bigger ones). UnU
I was skipping through the drama when subs were not out yet and was unsure if I should really go back to properly watch it with subs bc of it's sad theme. Our main is hurting so much. I love that Luo Jin as Xiao Ding Quan is crying so much. I am really happy about having male leads being able to admit and cry when they are hurting this badly. Usually, in many dramas, men just take it all in and suffer inside, showing no weakness but I prefer this way more.

I totally agree with you and maybe it is the language barrier that makes me understand him (and be sad for him) more than for her.You can simply read what he is feeling on his face while I can only guess why she want's to leave. I mean, of course, everyone would like their freedom and it is not everyones fantasy to fall in love with a hot pirate that kidnapped you <3 But I still struggle hard to understand why he loves someone as absuve as her (abuse starts a little later after EP5)
Wow, all his projects are future projects (2020) and all as the main lead. This side has nothing on him so far and he instandly jumps in as a lead actor? I wonder what is happening here? ^^
Wow, I am so surprised by this drama. I can't speak any Chinese and only get the gist what is happening thanks…
I do find myself over analysing sometimes though. Just the premise of her being kidnapped and then married by the guy is actually totally my cup of tea but these days, I find myself thinking more and more of how the characters would actually feel and how possible it really would be for *both* to be happy in such circumstances. Not am I only upset for her, especially in the beginning but I found myself being even more upset for him being abused by her verbally but especially physically with all the beatings she is giving him and he is just taking it in. How much is a man supposed to take? I find myself rather drawn to men who can admit they are hurt because we all hurt equally. I wouldn't be able to just stand there when someone is ramming a hairpiece into my chest... neither is any man supposed to but I guess this is not a drama to copy behaviour from but just to enjoy. After all, a pirate king probably had worse in his life than a 'little' hairpin sticking in his chest, right ?? I would like to be able to shut my head off and just enjoy the silliness of the moment, but I do feel appalled by the way they treat each other. So far I still like the drama and it is still entertaining, I just need to skip a bit when she is going overboard in torturing him but I have the feeling that they will fall in actual love at some point and they will both treasure each other properly. Him giving her the freedom everyone deserves, and she stopping to beat on him!
Wow, I am so surprised by this drama. I can't speak any Chinese and only get the gist what is happening thanks to my many hours of drama watching but I am hooked even without the subs. I have only little complaints with this drama (see below in spoilers, I am up to EP10)
Thai series should take some notes from Taiwan. And I'm not talking about the plot, the character, the production.…
Maybe you should give more Thai BL dramas a chance. Some might be a bit stiff but I found the most enjoyable BLs to be Thai. I am actually very suprised about History bc I haven't found any other Taiwan BL this enjoyable. Maybe I should check out more Taiwanese BL dramas, too.
I also have the feeling that Thai just has a different rhythm to it than Mandarin (or any other language). It is (at least one of) the slowest spoken languages. I quite enjoy it. You might have an easier time adapting to it when you compare Korean, Mandarin and Japanese. Japanese Dramas often have a calmer air to it (with exceptions of course) Korean seems more screamish and aggressive to me (I might be wrong on that but people just seem to get angry and shout way quicker and everyone is okay with that and just move on as if that is a normal way to communicate) and Mandarin, China Mainland Dramas seem to me like right in the middle. More calm in nature than Korean but more exciting than Japanese.
So yeah, I think you might just need more and more and more time with Thai to warm up to their language and culture and also see many different kinds of acting qualities to see what is 'bad' in Thai and what is great. Like the new 'The Effect' was again way too slow for me. It might make it more natural for Thai people but for me it makes it weirder. Check out 'TharnType' which is currently airing. Top stuff !
8mins into the first episode and already could figure out where this nonsense is heading...yeah bye bij.....done…
Totally agree with @Sizzlemaster. You think you know but you really don't. I am in love with it. This Thai Drama/Lakorn has a special place reserved in my heart
Did you watch the new History 3: Trappen and now there is the first EP out of History 3: Make our days count. They were great! I am so looking forward to the next weeks (sadly only 1EP a week! I am so spoiled thx to China!)
I couldn't see it through. Honestly, it's setting up everything all nice and then the just go one digging deeper into your chest just trying their very very best at making the whole drama as tear/heart-out-of-your-chest jerky as possible! If you are into some pain, go on! But it will not be the good kind of pain it will be the "why is this happening? Why did someone write this!!!"-kind of pain!
*Unpopular opinion alert* The FL in LOVE o2o is my least favorite character of all time. She is smug and doesn’t…
Totally agree. I dropped that one because of these dead fish kissing scenes. Just ew! I guess it should support her "innocence" but what a complete turn off (in sense of me turning off my PC after watching such a scene!)
