I agree that the tropes were there full force, but I felt that they were doubled to make fun of the tropes, and that's what made it so funny :) Only in the last eps the craziness was sadly lacking.

So is Jung Ji Ho the ML? I haven't watched a single episode and I already wish she would end up with Kang Hae Jin :D (Because of the actors.)

I was disappointed that the ML became so different, and that he apologized for many things that he had not done. He was right at first, what the others did was super wrong, not just a bit of a mean but even illegal. Especially that teacher who one parent got fired and she wanted to revenge the ML who said he doesn't even care if she did it or not? Why not revenge the parent!

Crazy in a good way, hilarious scenes and many twist and turns. I would recommend this despite the last few eps being a bit of a letdown. I'll write what I was most annoyed about in the comment under spoiler tag.

Is this drama heavily concentrating on love and relationships, or more politics and adventure? I know the ending and that's fine but before it I want a full load of passion and angst :D

I'm watching this now, I'm on ep 20 and a bit frustrated that the romance is not going anywhere. Can you tell me when they get together, it's not going to be one of those last minute things is it?

Yes that's definitely why I was disappointed. I try to make it a rule to only watch completed dramas: no waiting and before I start I can read the reviews to find out if it will suit my taste. But with IS I made an exception and started too soon because I had been waiting for this too long and was impatient... But even though I was disappointed, I don't regret watching it. For Cheng Yi's performance alone it was worth my time :)

Hi, I have watched all the episodes, including the special ones. Personally, I don't care that much whether it ends with the sacrifice or the resurrection - they both seemed pretty illogical. The beginning was very promising, but after they went to the mortal world the rest was just hinting that they might be together at some point and yet they never were. Even Yingyuan's parents and the evil couple had more interesting love stories! After the promising beginning this drama felt more like an adventure drama to me, and those are fine too but I had been waiting for this thinking it would be mostly about a powerful and heart wrenching romance.

I came for an unforgettable romance and stayed for my wishful thinking... All eps watched now, RIP my great expectations for Immortal Samsara.

- When Ye Hua was a flower, he was just a flower and didn't remember anything about it later as he was reborn. The parts where he said something to Si Yin were not in the novel
- Bai Qian never loved her teacher romantically, but she did love or more likely have a crush on Li Jing.
- Her cousin did not recognize her, she and he are said the same in mandarin Chinese, only written differently.
- Mo Yuan, the teacher, always saw through the magic and knew she was a girl. In the novel Li Jing however thought she was a guy and was confused with his feelings, there was no "heaven and demon can't be together", it was just Li Jing wanting to be with a woman and Bai Qian not telling him she was one.

Yes, I love her reaction when BQ comes back!
