Finally caught up with this drama after watching all available episodes in one day. My first impression is, the story reminds me a bit of Gangnam Beauty (surprise surprise) and the manga/jdrama "Switch girl". But this is definitely closer to Switch girl. Lots of tropey moments which I already expected since this is from a webtoon. I think what makes this show entertaining though is the characters and the acting. This drama is comedy gold. Kinda weird seeing Moon Ga Young play a goofy character considering that the last drama I've watched of her is "The great seducer" which is a complete opposite of her role here. Cha Eun Woo still the same role XD. As well as Hwang In Yeop. Poor guy, still one-sided love after his role in 18 again. His character here and in 18 again is basically the same lolol.
Ep7 summary for the impatient: Ami still worried about the ring. The couple visited Ami's family. Ami's mother mistakenly offered Manatsu Ami's ex's favorite food and even mentioned his name much to Ami's chagrin. Manatsu acts cool about it but later on the parking lot, he was a little bit jealous of Ami's ex and how he was once close to her family. Later, after entering the hotel, Ami finally told Manatsu about the ring. Manatsu didnt really mind. Then the inevitable bed scene starts.
They later went ring shopping though they didnt really buy anything. On Christmas eve, their first Christmas together, Manatsu gifted Ami his Mom's ring(If I heard correctly), Ami is a bit reluctant to accept since it's something very precious, which Manatsu replied with "it's because it's precious that I'm giving it to you" (That's my boy Manatsu). When Manatsu removed Ami's apron, the missing ring fell out of the pocket. Then another ecchi scene implied.
A little flashback about their first meeting, Ami said "handsome/hot guy" aloud XD and on their wedding day, Manatsu actually already thinks she's very cute and cant believe she's marrying her. Series ends with them redoing their marriage ceremony but this time with some of their co-workers.
Done watching episode 7. Didnt know it's the final episode already lol. Good thing this drama's dialogue is simple enough for my limited japanese so I dont have to wait for weeks for the subs. Anyway, this really is a light-hearted drama. Barely any conflicts. They definitely skipped the conflicts in the manga because there's no way a romance manga with no conflicts will have enough content to last. Kinda wished they showed us them having a baby knowing how she really wanted a child. Cute drama overall. Certainly nothing special about it, but it's the perfect drama to watch after watching a heavy emotional drama. Short, cute and just pure positive vibes.
The age of consent in SK is 16, so that is how the writer must've set up the date.
The age of consent is just bs. A lot of asian countries have low age of consent but that doesnt mean everyone thinks its ok for a minor to date an adult. I bet most arent even aware how low the age of consent in their country is.
So I got impatient and watched the raws of ep 5 and 6. Ep 5 is more about the ex-girlfriend and marriage announcement and ep 6 is about her worries about Miura not wanting a child with her. Anyway this is probably the most lighthearted jdrama I've watched yet. No jealous co-worker, no ex-gf wanting to steal her man back and no disapproving mother. She doesnt even give the other guys a chance XD.
Also, at this point, it's now pretty obvious they want a bed scene every episode XD.
ive never really liked how fastpaced jdramas sometimes are because its almost like you cant connect with everything…
Yeah jdramas seem to be getting shorter and shorter. Not enough time to flesh out the characters. Many jdramas adapted from a manga become more of a promotion for the manga.
I think you're just overthinking lol. He already explained it that he just kinda missed the chance to tell them. And based from his internal monologues, he 100% love her already. From the looks of it, this show is mostly character-driven so I dont think you should keep your hopes high about another secret that will make this drama plot-driven. They'll probably extend the story using the "ex-girlfriend" trope.
This drama is so cringey, but that's exactly why I'm still watching XD. The shoujo manga aspect is really showing especially the reverse-harem-ish vibe sometimes.
Lol an onsen episode. I thought Himari was too innocent to know that going to an onsen for couples usually means doing that thing. Turns out she has more balls than Akiyasu XD.
After they couldnt even show the kiss on the cheek, Im not getting my hopes up anymore for an actual kiss scene lol. I think it's because the FL is only 19 years old and probably have strict parents haha. Anyway I think she fits the role well. She has an innocent looking face and "sunshine" smile. While she isnt exactly very loli looking like in the webtoon, she portrays the immature and timid but bubbly in the inside personality of the character.
According to mdl episode 8 is the next to air. The last episode subbed on dramacool was episode 5. So where are…
The update is kinda slow especially after the issue that happened with the subbers. And generally jdramas have slow updates because they arent as popular as kdramas.
The description of this drama just gave away 90% of the whole plot
lol you're right. Maybe they were expecting people already know the plot since there are already so many remakes of this drama. But it's funny that the synopsis is more like a summary of the whole drama XD
While it has its flaws, the first half was still kinda enjoyable, but after the divorce, it really went downhill from there. This really should have been just a 24 episode or less drama. They dragged out the last few episodes just so it can reach 36 episodes. It became too tedious to watch. In the end I find the second couple more interesting. Anson's overreactions is the best lol.
The way the female lead seduces the male lead reminds me of another cdrama called instense love. The male lead is coincidentally also a doctor. The bedroom scene where the female lead tries to get close to the male lead but ended up getting wrapped like sushi is also in intense love lol.
Anyway this show is basically a love story of two tsundere lol.
