HZ seems too rational sometimes it doesnt make sense and hard for viewers to relate to her. I love this actress but this character seems too Marysue to me.

Everything has been so smooth sailing throughout the story, it will be weird if it has tragic ending.

That's why this drama has unbelievably too many good men. lol

and they were married/bought into the family as concubine just for the sole purpose as a baby making machine....

In the recent episode, one of HZ's maid almost got married into a merchant's household as the main wife but she rejected it even if it bump up her status a lot but I guess she values herself higher than that, nothing wrong of course. But the concubine's daughter took up the offer instead, not really being offered to her but she had to create that opportunity. A relatively small role in this drama but that moment when she told her reason, I shed a tear for her. :')

This is my first HYT's drama, but I know he has been around for some time. People is always critical but in this case I think is because HYT is not a young or new actor, he has quite a lot of dramas under his belt and tbh, his acting in this drama is mediocre. Not too bad but not great. I had to compare his role with other actors who'd play similar role as head of Security Bureau, Chen Xiao (Dream of Splendor) and Liu Yuning (A Journey to Love), where both did a good job in their role as scary killing machine. But our Gu Yanxi is not a very scary, he is just too lovable. LOL.

Agree 100% !! Personally, this is by far the most enjoyable drama for 2024.

Sweet and innocent and not too cute. Thank goodness she dont have those annoying baby voice like so many famous actresses. 😁
