I have only watched Queen of Mystery and I loved it! :D I haven't watched the second season yet, it had lots of negative comments, so I still don't know whether to watch it or not.
For the other dramas, I still haven't watched them yet, but I will check them out. Good article ^_^
In my opinion, the term 'strong female lead' can be interpreted in different ways.
It can also differ in what a person thinks, the experiences she passed through, what she views as strong, etc.
Once I saw a drama (I do not remember which one was) and I did not like the female lead and someone wrote what she found strong in her and I was like 'yeah I did not see it from that perspective'.
Some examples below in how a female lead can be strong (these are in my opinion and from I remember now):
Like she can be physically strong like for example the korean drama 'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon', she can be mentally strong like for example the korean drama 'The Last Empress', strong for her child / children like 'Autumn's Concerto' and even she can be strong for her family.
Moreover, she can be strong in her career like the japanese drama 'Doctor X', she can be strong because she is confident, she can be strong because she keeps going on with her life even though the female lead passed through many things.
Also, she can be strong because she keeps following her dream even though she finds many obstacles or people who hurt her, she can be strong because she finally accepted herself as she is.
Also, she can be strong because she can revenge and fight for herself or get revenge for her loved ones (this may be unpopular or seen as a bad thing, but I love it when the female lead gets revenge and then ok gets back on the right track).
She can be strong when she learns from her mistakes and starts to treat people better or appreciate them more, she can be strong in pursuing her love, etc.
Very informative article, I really enjoyed reading it! :D I did not know that these dramas were adapted into musicals. I really love musicals and I would watch them all! ^_^
Very interesting and informative article! I really enjoyed reading it :D It makes me want to visit thailand now ^_^
And I really love this lakorn, it's one of my favourite thai lakorns <3
And like as you said; the history, the mindset of the thai people of that time, the soul swapping, the characters, the story, etc made it really interesting to watch. Thus, while we get to learn some history about thailand, we get to enjoy the story between the characters.
Filipino dramas are much influenced by telenovelas, recently korean dramas and right now I would say mix of both.…
I did not know that, it's a shame, they really have potential.
I have only watched two dramas from Philippines, and these were Dyesebel (2008) and Magkaribal (2010). Yeah, they were long but I did like them, and actors are good as well.
I did start other dramas but either they did not catch my interest or I did not find them all subbed, so I dropped them.
However, I did watch some movies and I did like them. But I haven't watched much yet, so I don't know much about them. Thank you for your insight.
I fell in love with korean dramas because of their romance and stories.
I fell in love with chinese dramas mostly because of their historical dramas, as they have awesome stories (although they do tend to drag), awesome costumes, background scenes and especially awesome martial arts scenes.
I fell in love with japanese dramas because they give you realistic views and are able to give the message they want in few episodes. I find that to be a skill to be able to tell a story in few episodes.
I don't know if you also watch Thailand, Philippines and Taiwanese dramas and plan to write about them, but they have their strong points as well :D And if you do, I look forward to the next article :)
Great article :) I remember it coming out and I was excited about it.
However, it was really horrible and had lots of problems like you mentioned. Yes, the production was low budget, they changed the actors many times, bad acting, etc. Everything was horrible.
I think they tried to copy the korean style of acting which doesn't suit them or we're not used to see american series or movies do. So it turned horrible, ugly, disastrous and fake.
I had forgotten about it lol. I can't believe 7 years have already passed.
Thanks for the article ^_^ I really love all these secondary actors you mentioned, they're all awesome actors who deserve more recognition and more roles.
For Lee Yi Kyung, he usually acts comedy roles, and he's awesome in them, but then I watched him 'Children of Nobody', where he had a serious role and he really impressed me.
He's really different from his character in 'Partners for Justice'. You should watch him there, if the story interests you.
For the other dramas, I still haven't watched them yet, but I will check them out. Good article ^_^
I 100% agree with your views on thai lakorns.

The irony is that I watched all or one of the dramas of the other signs, but my sign that is cancer, I did not watch either of them lol.
However, I can only judge the story as it was shown.
