i am absolutely loving this drama. never felt so excited about a kdrama since Mr Queen. bring on next week.
After the first episode, I was on the fence about how I felt. After the second episode, my train of thought was, "why in the $#!! isn't it like a C-Drama dropping six episodes a week?" This storyline is going to be rich.
Episode 1 was good not amazing. Tbh many parts were too depressing and kind of boring but I think they were necessary…
Agreed. The production was fantastic, the acting really good but it missed a spark to make it great. I'm thinking episode one was a necessity for explanation.
Thank you for this review! I enjoyed "The Fiery Priest" and could see elements of brightness in this plotline, but by episode 12, I was struggling to watch and eventually dropped it. I liked Song Joong-Ki as the anti-hero but disliked the over-the-top bad guys. The inconsistent writing was a big turn-off for me.

I loved this comment! There are occasions of such brilliant writing in one scene to be followed by filler that I want to bang my head against something.

LOL! No, I hit play when there were elements of explanation. I love Scifi and especially time travel and the moments of explanation were what I loved. It was the romantic elements that seemed off kilter and that's when I would hit FF.
Love your article!!! I watched Sisyphus with some fast forwarding in the middle and it really seemed to miss the chemistry between the main couple. I thought Park Shin Hye's character should have romantically belonged with Choi Jae Sun and have them team up to save Han Tae Sul. Han Tae Sul was a cerebral guy with a low EQ; they should have maintained that approach in the script with his growth arc realizing the love and appreciated sacrifice of his brother . Overall, I thought it was good.
Lmao yes!!! Lol a i am just like "We don't want to share this with yall anymore!!!" Man! Like did they not see…
I love the Mulan story but would not, COULD NOT bring myself to watch their sh%$show of a movie version. I'm a westerner and could not be happier with Asian dramas that actually have a plot and good acting. Now they are going to make horrible Kdramas too? Great.
Its weird wtf??? Why Disney would produce kdramas??? Ther movies and series are all bunch of KID FRIENDLY now…
Kid friendly. Ugh. I totally agree 100% with your views. The Disney shows produced could not be worse. They took the Marvel series that I absolutely adored and made it into CGI frame with no interesting dialogue or script.
Disney takes beautiful storylines, adds their "special" touch, and then the characters and scriptwriting goes down the toilet. I'm glad that Korea is getting receiving very deserved accolades in movies and dramas but sad that Disney can now screw up the creative themes and writing I've grown to love. Sad news in my book.
It is almost as if half way through the drama production they changed the screenwriter and the director.
The Korean version of "Scarlet Heart Ryeo" did this also and I truly never disliked the change because it allowed story progression through an honest lens. This one seems to being following suit and I'm enjoying it for the same reason.
This drama does indeed settle down to a darker theme past episode 18. Such an unflinching look at inherited entitlement versus laymen class and the trade off of frustration or justice for power in court. I love it.
Same here. I dropped it after episode 8. All the male in this drama is narcissistic nature same goes to all the…
I'm not a gender triumphant type of person, but the screenwriter, Im Sung Han, is female. I cannot imagine, in my wildest storyline fantasy, writing the male characters is such a narcistic and whiny way aimed with a viewpoint of being entitled to cheat. The mistresses are also written as spoiled and crass, which leaves the narrative without character growth for anyone. I would love to see an interview with the writer that explains her logic in the series and also explain why the %$## there needs to be a season 2.
I usually don't diss shows because everyone is entitled to their own taste in dramas. I tried this one and habitually wanted to throw things at the tv screen after every episode and I dropped it after episode 4. The cheaters are written as being dragged into an emotional abyss by their spouse and therefore, entitled to a mistress; the wives were never given a moment of relief or freedom, which leans me towards a "WTH" moment when it gets a season 2.
