I see where you are coming from, but to be honest, I understand why Fei Ni was upset. Look at the times they live…
Yep I got it. I will still not side with Fei Ni here. She is too controlling

I guess it was not the fish he caught. Even then. I actually feel bad for the men in the drama too especially the FL’s brother . That Lin Mei and parents’ demands are ridiculous

Fei Ni is kind of annoying. What’s the deal with the bunk beds? She knows how hard they fought to get that unit.…
I agree . Why would she buy a bunk bed and create that suspicion? I honestly don’t get her sometimes am I surprised that Feng Ning caught on it. Not at all. But this is on the FL

A husband taking a little bit of money is not considered stealing and he did not plan this for himself . She can look at the big picture once in a while. And what exactly did he spend on? He caught all that fish, did he not? You can’t live like this as a married couple . That is my point

Title Love Story in the 1970s Spoiler
I think there might be a conflict later because of ml's past
Exactly my thoughts . Since Fei Ni’s dad was also a Chinese opera artist and her mom is educated , they will not have an issue with the ML’s background.

It is unbelievable how people, in conditions of absolute shortage of basics, have not lost their desire to love.
Well humans are survivors. Otherwise we would not have thrived for this long on this planet

She may be clever and determined but is a complete innocent when it comes to boys. She needs time to adjust to…
I think it’s more than that. She does not consider this marriage as real. That is her issue

I need Fei Ni to stop and enjoy the moment wholeheartedly. Him planning the wedding is not too bad. He also did it for her parents . There was nothing selfish there . So what if we took a little money to do it? She is the one being selfish here always thinking about it as a ‘fake marriage’ and about her dreams . I mean she can have her dreams but she also has to find some happiness with him . It is a little frustrating. Actually her being like this will not bring her a college seat magically. Her standing there at her wedding with a grumpy face was a bit too much .

Title Shine on Me
Very nice review . Yes she created Lin Yusen to be the exact opposite of Zhuang Xu. I am glad someone got the…
Agreed. Zhuang Xu never tried to look within himself or acknowledge his faults. He actually bullied and humiliated Xiguang- I did not see an ounce of respect or care for Xiguang in him. He just wallowed in self pity and placed the blame on Xiguang (not everyone) . He made her out to be the two timer when it was actually him who was doing that with Rong and not giving Xiguang a clear response . He really was a big red flag. Oh yes and Zhuang Xu’s excuses were ridiculous. On the other hand Lin Yusen admitted his faults and even apologized after that whole misunderstanding clear . Lin Yusen was a very high quality guy when compared to Zhuang Xu. Like you said - who wouldn’t fall in love with him. He was honest, loyal, more importantly self aware and conscientious enough to own his mistakes . He had a positive outlook towards life and the capability to let go and start fresh. We could all take a page from this honestly!

She can carry a drama by herself . Just amazing!
She will never be a helpless FL. She never has and never will. None of her roles are like that

Sure! It’s a pretty ambiguous scene - foreboding either a bloody battle in the Chinese wilderness or season 2 . This guy was the mastermind and they never got him or maybe they are saying that it never ends. One goes and another appears
