This is so well analyzed that there is nothing else to say. And you are right Wang He is the most complex character here . And yes he does not act like this knight in shining armor towards Feng Hua. Feng Hua decided long ago that she was not going to rely on men (remember that conversation between Siyi and her) . Wang He started admiring her resilience and her business sense and how smart she is. I am glad that she never asks him for help and carries her own weight and struggles. And yes we saw all the moms who were smarter and more hard working than the men. This drama gives you a very realistic view

Also when you read young adult fiction these day it is all about young adults killing people. Take Hunger games for example - became a huge success did it not? If you enjoyed all of that then don’t be high and mighty here. But teen girls being taken advantage of is a completely different thing. Don’t pick a fight here or twist other people’s opinions . I finally caught up on the episodes . I am really loving Xia Feng Hua’s character- how tough she is and how she does not lean on anyone that easily. Wang He is just. Who he is you cannot love him or hate him. But the one quality about him that is amazing is that he does not give up on his friends. I liked how he lifted Xingchi from that hell hole he was in. But then he has flaws too like the way he runs after success and money blindly
