It honestly is not Wang He ‘s job to pull Xing chi’s weight . Yes they are friends but that does not mean that he should be there for that guy at every single turn. He gave him the opportunity -yes- but that is it. WH has his own pressure and his job to do. I feel like Xingchi is not built for any kind of career/job. He is a loose cannon. I did not like FH telling him to take responsibility for Xingchi again. Anyone would be mad. They all make WH carry too much on his shoulders because he is the default leader of their group

I am watching ep 14. And this is what I see- The FL is reluctant to see her dad for who he really is. Forget the ML talking to her - her own mom told her uncomfortable things about him. For her - god forbid- that perfect family of hers is messed up.-she will not be able to accept it. I was like - give me a break- when she told the ML that she was just an ordinary woman from the inner chambered . She is very biased. She only sees what she wants to see . For her the ML is only evil but she will use him as she wishes . They really have created a FL character who you can neither love nor hate ! One thing is for sure- after this incident she has gained an upper hand as far as her family is concerned

No there is something more going on there. Just jealousy would be too simple. As the mother said , the dad orchestrated a lot of those things - had her family killed and later was somehow involved in the whole barefoot ghost drama- it is not yet completely clear what else the dad did. Also was he responsible for the ML’s wife getting killed? Is that why the ML kept silent when the family was going to be executed? I think the FL is still very hasty and impulsive. She is feisty but does not analyze everything

But the issue is that the 2ML is a loose cannon- let’s be honest here . What you said may be the ultimate goal but when you are working for a company you follow their rules and regulations and whatever goals they have set. If one cannot then they should resign. I agree that WH is aggressive when it comes to work but 2ML cannot think straight about a lot of stuff and I think he may just be squandering the opportunity given to him.

That I understand but yes they still need to talk. I agree though that one does not know how serious WH is. And FH does not want to invest too much in that relationship . Their relationship is still at that stage where it could fizzle out . But then they are more than just lovers and that is why the talk is needed

She actually plays grey and dark characters well. I can’t see her as a lead in a romcom or something like that . But serious characters that are complex - definitely!

Thirty episodes in and this drama is so good! Thoroughly loving every minute of it and I am thoroughly invested in the characters and the story. This is definitely one of the best dramas this year. I am blown away by all the actors in this ensemble but Bai Lu shines in this role again and her character is so beautifully written.

Yeah I was frustrated with her and then I was really mad at Xingchi- I don’t find him likeable at all and can’t put up with his antics anymore

Yeah she is a serious actress . Even her negative roles have been amazing . She really gets into it and it’s great to watch that

ZHY’s dad is the most shady character in this drama. I think he is deceiving everyone including the audience with his so called ‘goodness’. It is very evident from how he married the FL’s mom that he is not a nice guy. I don’t think he is an idiot either . He is still playing that game in prison and asking his daughter to rescue him and the family but I don’t believe this charade at all. Again there is more than meets the eye here and it needs to be revealed. Our FL of course is blinded to this again!

She is definitely a good actress DW!

I think she is already ruthless and as you said savage . But I am not saying the ML is good. If anything they are both ready to do what ever it takes for their agenda. Both are morally grey.

They both use each other but she is definitely more ruthless and manipulating than him. I think he has more bottom lines than her. Because her background adds to all that

I am a little frustrated with Feng Hua. Fine she is sick but she needs to tell her parents and Wang He. It’s ok if she wants to break up with him but she needs to be honest and not brush him off like that or push him away.

Absolutely . She is very manipulative and selfish. That is exactly why the ML is very wary of here . He is always watching her every move and keeping a little bit of that distance .

You are right she uses the ML when she wants to but when things don’t go her way or if he does something against her wishes she attacks him. She is the perfect example of an abused person who has survived. She only cares about herself and that ‘perfect home’. What I am concerned about is that the ML is clearly swayed by her emotions and sometimes changes his decisions because of her. She really does not trust anyone and with the ML she has this interesting relationship- she is ok with asking him for help when she is in dire need but she pushes him away whenever he does anything against her wishes . I want to see where this goes. And this perfect family of hers may not be that great but it’s going to take time for her to come to terms with it. She is a morally grey character

She is definitely clouded by her judgement because she only focuses on having a home and a family. She is blinded as far as everything else is concerned. She called the ML selfish too but I think it’s only her - she does not want that ‘perfect family/home disturbed. There is more to this mystery than what we see. Also we do not know everything about the ML yet.
