Those who are comparing Hidden Love to this one - please it’s not even close. Yes I liked that drama but this one has a very unique story and the characters and storyline are extremely different. Li Xun is way more complex than the ML in that drama and what they go through is completely different.

That’s about it though - I mean the ML was not like the one in L&P nor was the FL

Yep this drama was very deep and meaningful. The bottom line is LX was too honest and principled to be a red flag in any sense. He was damaged because of everything he went through life and did not have much hope until the FL came along and supported him with all her strength. His only fault was poor communication skills. Well given his upbringing and what he went through I am not surprised at that either- and that is what partly destroyed him.

WRT Go Go squid- never understood the charm of that drama- could never get into it. Not my cup of tea. Yes the FL was extremely chilidish and stalker like there

Slight difference, for Gao the spiraling was caused by his delusions of greatness and what he was worth while for LX it was more real circumstances that led him to destroying himself -not necessarily insanity. In a way the 3 yrs of prison was actually good for him:)

I would not say story is anything like Lighter and Princess but it also kind of nudges you to think your life just like L&P does . WRT the FL - yeah she is a little too quirky and out there- but enjoyed it and I like that actress. I also really loved the ML in that one

Yes there are definitely shadows of Ayn Rand in this story especially the way Li Xun’s character as a visionary was created and why Zhu Yun gravitated towards him - she says in one of the scenes to Gao “it’s not just because of love that I follow him”.

Please do- and you are right it is a very shallow judgement on his character. I would settle for a guy like Li Xun any day - he is a rare gem

I am reading this debate here. And I want to add this comment. They are both equally bad. They are both playing a game but I think the FL is more cruel to him than he is to her. She gives such mixed signals about him while it’s very obvious that the ML is smitten with her. She is not ready to give him a chance to pursue her

Yes I also think the ML is a very faithful harmless guy. It’s just that he comes across as the opposite which is very misleading to the FL

Yes Jiaxu’s character did go through some rough stuff but comparatively people were more accepting of him including the FL’s family. But it was tougher for Li Xun that acceptance was only from the FL - she and a few other people cared about him but no one accepted him for who he was. Honestly without the FL’s determination and dedication towards him he would have been completely lost- he really was a heart wrenching character especially because he actually cared about everyone around especially those worth caring for.

She was his rock and she really accepted who he was in a wholesome way and was with him throughout his journey - such relationships are rare
