It's fine if you would never do that. All I'm saying it's to not take it too seriously. As for people who ship evil & toxic red flag, they are really a minority as most people tend to say non-stop that they want them to die quickly especially if he is a SML. And if they do it's mostly in a unserious way because they find the actor hot. :P

Well, sure it's delulu to expect the SML to become the ML. I know only one drama so far that actually did that. Between Love Alarm S1 & S2, they switched the ML & SML (meaning ML became SML and SML bacame ML in S2). It wasn't... well received to say the least. Personally, I found this quite unique & interesting but yeah, most people hated it when it did actually happen.

All of that just to say, peoples shipping with SML don't do that that seriously (even if some do) & it's just to banter or complain about the actual ML. BUT even if they actually mean it, I don't see how you could see that as cheating or disrespect toward the ML. You mean the FL, right ? As, I don't see how viewer could "cheat" on the ML. It's not like we need to be faithful toward him. Hell, we would cheat left & right when we engage in another drama with another ML. :P

Anyway, it's only in people's imagination and doesn't really involve the actual drama or FL. It's really not that deep. ^^'

Some actors that did SA are stiil around. They lay low a bit and come back like nothing happened. And it just... work for them. So yeah, I don't put faith in humanity. I don't say it will happen here - sometime they are cancelled for good BUT sometime they aren't and everyone forget about it sadly.

True but Choi Won U was hyper sus this episode. Well, maybe too sus. But who was Kim Bong In again ? Was it the old guy who woke up the emperor ?

The thing is it wasn't written as a r*pe. The whole thing went down more like a "cheating" situation. The distress of Akin wasn't about if he was r*ped but if he cheated on Jin while he was drunk. Not saying he wasn't r*ped. He clearly was but it was pretty clear they wouldn't talk about this issue or characters would react as a r*pe happened.

More than being leaked as a couple, it was basically a "sex scandal" in the eyes of the public. You can see previous sex scandal, celebrities are always tarnished by them. Even straight one but two men ? Public outrage will definitely be a thing. Here, we are in a safe bubble but don't think that BL is "well perceived" in the eye of the mass. Test it for yourself and watch it in a very public setting. You will see at least heavy side eyes or even worst.

- It's a fact that rookies accept such project to gain popularity. Is that a 100% recipe for success ? Absolutely not. But like any of their debut drama, some success, some fail. It's just in the hyper competitive regular drama they cannot land a main role but can in the niche BL Drama scene (or Webdrama in general). It make them "more likely" to success. As to why they do it in the first place. You really don't need to "pity" them. It's literally their job. Do they get some lunatic on their SNS ? Yes but they are more flooded by "positive" one. Read their interview "post-success". They mostly all have the same feedback. You can really stop the "think of the actors!" pity party. Maybe yourself you don't know - you can go educate yourself on the subject now - but everyone know about this practice to debut. The industry know, the long term BL fan know & obviously the actors themself know. Nobody put a gun on anybody here.

No. They did that for the money as like you say, they are more likely to have a larger audience if they tone down the touchy subject of homosexuality. They are probably correct financially BUT it's still disrespectful to the OG work & their fans. Yourself can be completely fine with it BUT don't expect us to share the same mindset. Not everyone is fine by being disrespected you see. :)

Weird take. Korea have ton of good webtoons & webnovels. Why straight-washing a BL story when they have really solid straight comic & novel waiting to be adapted ? We didn't expect a "bold move". They took a really good BL story and you expect said fan of said story to not expect to... just follow that damn good story ? Oo

So why using a BL story ? Bait. The "backslash" of it is just that worth it. BL fans will still eat it regardless and the final product will still be "acceptable" for the lambda viewer. But at some point, it's also quite normal for BL fans to feel upset by this marketing technique.

If at least they put some effort in writing this straight couple and made them original & interesting half of the "hate" wouldn't exist. It would still be a slap in the face of the OG work BUT we would have seen some effort at least. But it was SOOO lazy. It was the most basic & generic storyline.

As for the actors gaining backslash from playing queer characters. It's true to some extend. It's very true when an already established actor take those role BUT they also gain a lot of support from it. Lot of hate & lot of love. Most of them gain more than they lose in the process. They aren't stupid and it would be naive to think they do that for "the cause". It's a calculated risk but I do concede that I don't think that it's a pleasant process.

But for rookies ? They don't have this sort of trouble. They generally gain MUCH more and aren't harassed for taking such role as much as popular actor. For most, it's truly a way to gain popularity & "easy" recognition quickly.

Yeah but to be fair bodybuilder bodies aren't that appealing to most. It's a bit... uncanny. It's in the "too much" category like any extreme.

She did remember the back of the ML & the bamboo pattern. But again, I don't see what wrong with her still having amnesia. Are you just mad the romance between ML & FL is rather slow ? It's not about being bad, it's just that you don't like this. It's fine, you know, to not like something. But not liking something is completely different of this same thing being bad. Didn't know we still needed to explain that...

No it isn't, agree to completely disagree. I liked "Are you the one" but except that FL have amnesia, why bring that up ?

The thing is... it's a historical drama. And they tend to be at least a bit historically accurate. I'm all for a woman being the Empress but... It's really not that common (I know for sure that at least one existed in ancient china but it's not her). So yeah, I don't hold my breath as to the fact that her being a woman will be know by all - IF she stay on the throne.

Like most Emperor/Empress story, they all bail on their duty to live a "normal" life in drama (to avoid being historically inaccurate even if it doesn't make any sense). The issue here is I don't see a suitable substitute. I think one of the prince is still alive but we didn't see him for quite a long time now.

A girl that was convicted because of her father to become a slave of the government aka. a dancer.

My whole point is that it's not a bad drama and doesn't deserve the hate. I really don't understand where this is coming from to be honest. :)

I don't really understand the hate in the comment. It's sure not a masterpiece but damn, peoples seems to nitpick on EVERYTHING here for no apparent reason. For peoples that have cold feet after reading the comment, just try it. Maybe I'm the odd one, but this drama doesn't deserve the constant negativity I seen here.

I don't know where the confusion come from. FL was in love with him but he never was. Sure he had affection for her, but like you said, it was just a childhood connection. And if he had, he just buried so deeply - because he didn't want anyone to share is thorny fate - that it doesn't matter. Now that he is forced to live H24 with her because she has become his "sister", he is starting to catch real feeling - or forced to confront his previous denial.

I can't blame writers here. Viewers really don't go beyond surface level and need everything to be told to them. It's not even on the level of reading between the line as he said himself multiple time. :o

He is a pig in human clothing. The typical second rate villain that his writen as the most obnoxious character. He did a LOT of horrible thing that include blackmailing a girl with the life of her brother to have sex with her. You get the picture. :)
