I thought this was about witches (literally). Have we ever gotten a kdrama or movie with witches? You know with…
The first thing that come to my mind when I heard Witches in K-drama is "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" & "Hotel del Luna". Both FL aren't Witches but they surely give that vibe.
I just can't with the KlaoWarit plotline. It's so wrong on so many level that I will not care about them anymore. x)
It really seems I have a hard time with the "second couple" on those stories as I didn't liked PondSand storyline either. I'm not that bothered by it as they don't take that much screen time.
And my poor Gun! Yotha need to redeem himself but it seems it will go this way in the next episode.
I also think he is ace but sex/physical contact could also be his trauma as his reaction are very strong akin to disgust (meaning he could overcame it and be sexually active if he want to).
But Aro ? We know too little to say that. The fact that he like or not the ML isn't a proof of being Aro or not. The only proof for that would be him saying "I never had romantic feeling for anyone". That being said, I do think he have feeling for ML. If not why would he propose to make that relationship with ML in the first place ? It's a LOT for just being a good friend. Or just twisted.
Okay, I'm watching two xianxia dramas at the same time and I keep mixing the information about Gods and their…
No, they are "missing" from what I remember. But it's pretty clear where they are: FL is the Moon Goddess that given the power to the Eternals and ML is the "Demon God" that given Demons their powers. A third party is involved (the 3 children thing seems to be the reincarnation of the Divine) but that I can't remember if it was mentioned in the beginning.
So they are really brothers for real. He peobably got his legs broken from that master who kill all of tiger clan.…
His legs were broken by the Stone Clan. He is the "young man" they keep mentioning. My guess is that he killed by himself the Tiger Clan (or maybe the Cold Spring Master helped ?) and went to the Blaize Clan Village. After that, the Stone Clan came to stole it but something went massively wrong leading to the moment where he lost his legs (Cang Shan went berserk mode or his berserk mode was forced by -again- Cold Spring Master ?). Not sure how the "resentment" that keep following the Stone Clan appeared (did he summon his dead clan members to take his revenge ? With again the help of the Cold Spring Master ? We will see.) but it's how it lead to today event if I would take a guess.
But I don't really know why he hate ML so much. It isn't his fault at all as he was clueless to almost everything. Maybe Cold Spring Master brainwashed him or he just needed someone to blame for all that happen to him. Seems a bit forced to add some brotherly drama, so I hope writer have a better idea from where come from his hate on his brother.
Why does it feel you want him to rewrite the novel and make new drama lol
If you didn't catch it, his "attempts" to change fate will never be successful. Why ? Because his current timeline have already incorporated his attempts and MXL still died in the end. It's a temporal loop.
For the first attempt, even if it was a bit clumsy, a day really passed between when he possessed his body and confronted the Master of Decaying. He needed to locate him, prepare and he didn't know the 1-day limit at that time.
So now, on his third attempt he will also "fail". Well, not entirely because it was because of this attempt that MXL didn't die when Sang Li attacked Moonlight Height. It was also how XXC killed the Elder Gao and was "possessed by the dark clan" plotline begins.
It also means that he cannot change fate with the Mirror of Samsara. I'm really curious how it will unfold after that.
I think for the writer, there is nothing to fight for two identity with the same personality.
I don't think Book of Fate is cruel, he is just overly detached from everything except Pearl of Chaos. A bit like the current NXY who is only focused on MXL. He even tried to kill his "best friend" for her & he didn't have much power. Now imagine him with Godly power that can literally rewrite history + lived with her "obsession" for eon. You can easily imagine the outcome.
For me they have the same personality except Book of Fate have lived for MUCH MUCH longer time + having power that can just break the world, so yeah, the outcome of his obsession is so much worst.
Well, I really enjoyed JoNorth storyline. Jo being a real eye-candy for me surely did help. (Loved the arm tattoo)
As for the first couple, while I enjoyed their first half, it really fell a bit flat after a while. Easter isn't a character I enjoyed. A bit too childlike & over-the-top for my taste. I also had trouble with some of his mannerism. As for Hill, overall, he was kind of bland & vanilla ? Anyway, even then, it wasn't a deal breaker for me but yeah, I wouldn't have been able to watch all of it if it was just them.
I know it was adapted from a novel so maybe the first one was like a trial or a first draft ? And the second one had more polish and detail ? It make me curious about the others two storyline that should be adapted for the season two at least, even if I wouldn't be "that" concerned if it never happen in the end.
I think the writer have a self-sacrificing kink (or suicide kink if I wanted to be really blunt). The FL Father, Tian Huo Mother & Brother, Wu/Qi/Ba Trio, Fu Ling & Chong Zhao, Mu Jiu and obviously FL & ML. All want to die for someone and actively do that. And I think the list will go on as the story progress. Writer really think it's the epitome of nobility & proof of love.
While it's not entirely wrong - I can see how someone would see that as a noble act & selfless proof of love - it bother me a bit that every characters think that way, like it's just completely normal & sane to think that way. It almost lost it's meaning at some point like with Ba. He sacrificed himself, he got 3s tear from Wu & a 10s "deep" speech from FL & ML and... That's it. Then, Fu Ling appear and use "the power borrowed from her Master" (was it even mentioned before ?) to revert back at how the situation was beforehand. Writer be like "Someone didn't die for someone that episode, let's just add it for some drama!". Was it really necessary ? I really don't think so.
The power dynamic will be reversed here has she hold his darkest memory: his eighth-grader syndrome. And after the teaser it seems he still have it! So yeah, she will blackmail her boss. So throw any IRL expectation into the trashbin as nothing in it seems logical and it's made for laugh.
In my opinion it wasn't anything like this because the situation they were in required to either take a risk or…
I'm mostly blaming the writing itself not the actual characters. The writer are responsible for making those "smart FL & ML" looking mostly dumb. It's just lazy writing. The first time I understood FL was powerless & ML has his goal. So yeah City go crazy and Father died. And Abracadabra -Plot armor activated- she healed the whole city & everything is fine. Second time again, they know it's a trap and they go without a proper plan into the banquet. And again, plot armor activated -ML have a burst of power from his magic sigil that doesn't explain at all how he could use spirit power even with a burst of it & save the day.
And now again with the fox tribe. The FL know that's it's a trap but go alone with the Fox Master (and ML follow the others Fox Elder. He know it's a trap or he is just stupid). And I'm waiting again the plot twist that they will lazily make this time.
Don't get me wrong, I still like it but I hope they will use those "smart FL & ML" they described with - I don't know - a smart plan to save the day from time to time ? :P
Love how FL & ML always see the trap ahead but still jump right into it without a proper plan. They done that every single time. They love the thrill I guess. :D Well, I guess having plot armor is their plan because their are that *special*. :P
Episode 1: ML in his thirty (or around it) keep waiting for a girl he knew when he was very young (around 7 ?) because they promised each other to meet at a specific place as she needed to leave with her grandma. They also promised to marry each others. Of course, they want me to believe that a freaking handsome doctor (who also probably come from a rich family) is still waiting for this girl. And yeah you guess it, FL have the same name! (I don't know yet if it's truly her as I just saw ep. 1). I REALLY hope he isn't because he was still "in love" with her younger self...
Like come on... I'm all for the fantasy but damn, no one would believe that & it's borderline creepy if you think about it! :x
I will keep watching because at least it seems that FL is sane and completely forgot about that like any normal person would do (If it was really her in the first place).
[EDIT]: Episode 2: Yeah, it's her. And he was in love with her all this time. So obviously, the next move is to become extra creepy by extracting personal info from her relative (who is also his underling), invading her personal space with questionable reason, borderline blackmailing her with her job to order her around (for showing off how handsome & awesome he is) and proceed to take advantage of her when she is sleeping. But they want me to believe it's cute. I'm just not in the mood for that. I'm out, dropped.
Unless the 2nd ML and 2nd FL can repent, they're pretty much cooked in terms of forgiveness. Out there painting…
I'm more invested in the "second couple" even if I already know they will have a tragic ending for sure. Meanwhile, both FL & ML are already in the love state of "I will die for you". With 20+ episode left, I already bored of their "I will sacrifice myself for you" back & forth until one of them will actually be on the verge of death (or straight up dead). And ofc, he (or she) will be saved by the power of love. :P
I think Alternate Cir was the "guardian angel" that Alternate Phu keep talking about. We saw in the end of ep. 2 that he didn't respond to Phu unlike Original Cir but he did seems to know Alternate Phu. Also, his "psychic" friend said two thing that hint to that:
-When he respond to A. Phu something like "It's maybe because you didn't look carefully before" when A. Phu said he keep seeing Cir everywhere now in ep. 1. -When he said to O. Cir to "Tell him the truth". I don't think he is truly a character that is aware of the whole "Parallel Universe" thingy but know that A. Cir was helping A. Phu all along without anyone knowing.
It really seems I have a hard time with the "second couple" on those stories as I didn't liked PondSand storyline either. I'm not that bothered by it as they don't take that much screen time.

And Jun is just here for the Drama. Like someone else said before, he just want chaos. :P
But I don't really know why he hate ML so much. It isn't his fault at all as he was clueless to almost everything.
