It was... something ? I don't know if I liked it or not. First of all, the pairing of a clueless & childish guy with a cold-blooded psychopathe isn't my cup of tea to begin with but somehow... They had their charm. Loved the vibe of ancient china even if I would said the make-up was really too heavy (or was it beauty filters ?). They were too "white" and even whiter when they were "sick" or badly injured (so almost half of the time).
Anyway, I still enjoyed it probably because Historical BL isn't that common so it was kinda fresh & unique. But yeah... the plot had some flaw & a bit too much characters (very confusing in the first few episode).
Well, she did say that her mother almost broke her leg in the past, so I'm not sure about the "not hitting that…
Do I ? No, I don't. With the context here, I cannot for sure saying it didn't happen. I'm not saying she did it on purpose but it could have happen at one of her frenzy episode where she didn't control her anger. She clearly have anger issue (the road scene, the drum scene or again the scene when she throw her daughter's suitcase).
Anyway, I wasn't even bothered by her character as for me a fiction is strictly a fiction. All I was saying is that I could understand why so many seems to be triggered by those scenes. And saying "It's an Asian thing, you wouldn't understand" don't make it better like some think it would.
No, it's intentional. If they go research the actress' socials to leave "hate comment" about a fictional character she played, it isn't just about the fictional character anymore. They just want to spread hate on an actual human being for whatever sick reason they have for doing so.
The drama wants to show the friendship in the young age. They don't compete with each other like DR.Slum. They…
Well, she did say that her mother almost broke her leg in the past, so I'm not sure about the "not hitting that hard" part. It was said for comedy purpose but I can understand peoples who struggle with family abuse topic being uncomfortable when it's taken a bit too lightly like it's the case here. It can be really sensitive.
As for the rating, either it's really positive or really negative, people are really worked up for a Drama that have only two episode aired yet. From what I see it's quite good so far but I'm a bit concern about that having 16 episodes. Just hope they will not add too much unnecessary drama. :)
I'm glad I'm not the only one who is quite confuse with the plot. Since when we should turn our brain on to watch BL ? :P
But seriously, I'm quite invested in this even if - probably an unpopular opinion - I saw too much butt for my taste. Especially the Tonkla/Korn/Win fuckfest.
I really hoped that the last struggle would be on Sahashi part but no, it's again the insecurity of Mamiya that cause trouble in paradise. Well, at least it will end next week, I don't think I could have handle more of Mamiya repeat the same cycle of self doubt more than that.
Hmm... Again, I'm confused with their "brother". Just to be absolutely clear, Matt was Neil's actual brother, right ? I'm always confused because brother could mean actual brother, a very good friend, someone older that he truly respect or a lover. They didn't gave lover vibe so I already crossed that out but I'm still bothered by not knowing exactly what was their relationship. :O
Well, I think I will drop it at episode 9, I don't think I can continue. It isn't that bad but... I yawn too much & I was just forcing myself. Tbh, I wasn't a huge fan of MSP but loved them in Moonlight Chicken. But as MSP seems to be their more popular work so far, they took a very similar plot line (Light High School romance with some Comedy) but it's less existing the second time especially if the plot is even weaker in my humble opinion. That + the fact it was aired after Only Boo who also have a very similar vibe didn't help at all.
But like I said, it isn't bad - a bit generic and on the safe side - but it didn't work for me as I just see that as a way to reproduce the success of MSP and the timing is bad.
I will still remember the slap scene at least as it was the most epic scene I've seen in a while. :P
I liked most of it except the ex boyfriend of Thanwa plot line. Too messy and a bit pointless as I didn't understand…
I really didn't understand why he was linked to the "stalker" plotline. Why he was stalking university couple to expose them ? For money ? But it doesn't make sense, right ? Because he is just a "bad guy" ? Also, we all agree he tried to rape Thanwa on camera ? Again, why ? It didn't help that we didn't have any update afterwards at what happened to him.
I liked most of it except the ex boyfriend of Thanwa plot line. Too messy and a bit pointless as I didn't understand at all why he acted like that. More in spoiler if interested.
But overall, this show was really cute & fun. Also, very sweet, even if it was a bit too much to my taste.
Peoples use them because it's easier to write them as we really aren't familiar with their naming system. MC/ML is generic and can be used most of the time without being confusing.
Seme/Uke is also used but like someone said previously, it's also a bit awkward sometime like in shonen-ai story or here for exemple when it isn't clear yet (well, if it follow stereotype it's obvious but we don't like to assume).
Really Old ?! Oo Just asking here, but you would give which age only based on her apparence in the trailer ? She's late twenty - early thirty at most. So yeah, even if she is actually 38y old, she doesn't look like one.
Like you said, MC is for the main characters. The story is build around them. A story can have multiple MC even if it isn't that common. But when we talk about romance, we can also use the term of FL & ML because they are often story with two MC so it's easier to differentiate them. But it lose all interest with BL as like you said, they are both ML. :P So MC was kept for one of them. In Novel or Webtoon it's easy to tell which one is the MC because the story is mostly written with their PoV in mind or the plot is more focused on his struggles & hardships.
In the show, they don't have a age gap, they are both minor. If you talk about the real age of actor well, it…
I'm saying I'm uncomfortable with him being young and it would be the same even if both of them were 15 or 16y old making heavy NC scene. For me the age gap is irrelevant in this situation. It never bother me in light romance drama as I know they are acting.
For now I'm holding my judgement as I didn't see yet what could be troublesome. But yes, if they strictly follow the original work, I will probably drop it.
I don't think Natsume was ever in love with Tanouchi. I think it was more so admiration. Idk if Tahashi became…
Glad they skipped this part. Even if it make the whole 'unrequited love' a bit pointless in this adaptation, the whole blackmail thing is a plot device that was overly used in the past and should stay there, in the past.
I don't know how much are they going to follow the novel but I definitely don't want to see a grown ass 27yo (who's…
In the show, they don't have a age gap, they are both minor. If you talk about the real age of actor well, it isn't called acting for nothing. Don't get me wrong, I can somewhat understand why you are uncomfortable as I also think 16y is quite young IF they do heavy NC scene but it would be regardless of his partner age as age gap isn't a issue for me.
