i’ve always thought ryu hwa young and park shin hye look similar or have some familiarities
this was my first time seeing Ryu Hwa Young and before I scrolled down to PSH my first thought was she looked like she could be her sister or cousin lol

I totally agree with you! In a lot of kdramas (not all) the topic is weirdly completely avoided! It's like sex…
I was soo happy with What's Wrong With SK that they openly talked about sex and showed them actually about to do the act. it was really refreshing to know 2 consenting adults weren't afraid to openly talk about this aspect of their relationship. and it was even more refreshing when Ms. Kim actually told him he was being too pushy lol
Another drama that I liked that also openly showed their physical love was Something in the Rain, she stayed the night and we get to see those little moments of pleasure between the two leads. I really like scenes when the female wakes up and is wearing their clothes XD

I cannot agree more on the MLs meeting before...like seriously, they can't just meet like regular people in the real world and develop a relationship? they really HAVE to have some type of old connection? its the worse!

I love this drama, but I feel as though so many put importance on the romance which is where everyone falls off. I completely fell in love with the mom fighting for her right to have a new life after being put into a predicament where she took the fall for her horrible ex. The drama wasn't meant to give you complete evil characters, or completely naive characters, or even a great romance. It was realistic in a sense that had me thinking 'i may have made that choice too if I were in her shoes'.
A lot of thrillers and dark shows make me drop them because I'm given characters that either are really smart and make all the right decisions or everyone is in some way in control of their emotions and and I didn't feel that with this drama so it's high on my list. Just IMO.

One of my favorite drama ever, I had it in my plan to watch list forever cause I thought it was way to dramatic…
I can't wait for HJE to do another melodrama too! She's practically been playing herself lately and literally in Handsome Guy haha

hahaha that's cute, I tend to save a lot of photos of my fave actors too xD He's got a lot of really good shows…
I don't save any pictures of idols or actors im into so even the 10 pictures i have are too many LOL...and then i realize its pictures my friends send to me because they know he's the only actor i like enough to have pictures of him on my phone lol it is awesome to meet other fans of Sato ^^ my favorite of him so far is Kenshin but I really enjoyed him in Liar and His Lover, I just feel bad that they couldn't live up to the story with the direction of it.

Sato makes my heart flutter every time I see him on screen. I even probably have way too many pictures of him in my phone XD but ever since I saw him in Mei-Chan (just that he had a cute face) and Beck (I've seen this face before, oooh I am now intrigued) it was an uphill battle ever since. Trying to watch all his shows, SO excited when he got Kenshin. I've been a proud fan for so long now LOL ^^

will check out your channel. I used to watch drama reviews on YT but many were spoiler laden and ruined the dramas…
I really do try to leave out spoilers. It helps a lot just to talk about characterization and how they grew from certain events than actually talking about what happened. If an ending is what got me to actually really like the drama then I usually just state that the ending is a treat ^^

I am definitely an Emotional reviewer. I need all my feelings to be put out there so I can fully get over a show that left me feeling happy or really mad I wasted my time on it.
I wonder if I wrote more reviews would it help more drama lovers? Because I did create a YT channel to start reviewing dramas that way and to have another type of outlet for my interests. Since I don't 'write' reviews I do organize my videos by plot, characterization, and then I usually talk about something significant that stood out to me. I make key points to avoid rambling cause it's a lot easier to do that while talking than typing to me LOL
I really try to leave out spoilers in my reviews too. I would hate to ruin a possibly good drama for someone with a quick easy spoiler of the show. So I usually talk about character development than actual plot to help avoid this.
Great article! It made me realize how I should structure future videos to help include different viewers and what they expect from reviews ^^ A Link to my YT is on my profile if anyone is interested XD

Some of these comments are wild LOL I appreciate the article and I'm happy you're able to express your opinion. Everyone has a different opinion and I agree with pretty much the whole article.
Hana Yori Dango has way too many remakes (i'll always love the japanese version more though)
Goblin does get a bit too much hate but once again everyone has their own opinion about that.
I like my American tv but I do tend to watch Asian dramas more.
I need to watch Come and Hug Me.
Beauty standards in Korea kill me because even with idols i always feel like if I can see their ribs they're sick and fans can be really upfront about calling members ugly even though they work so hard to be on that stage.
Kdrama cliches are hellah annoying but I do enjoy a good shower scene and back hug XD

This was all over the place, but there is only 1 thing you got correct and should be the leading part in this…
Uhm what's so hard about understanding that it's an unpopular opinion article ranked from 7 to 1 with some details in between? Maybe you just don't like the LAYOUT of the article. You could have easily gave positive constructive criticism by saying as the reader you didn't understand the ORDER of the article without mentioning if they read or not...

Uhm excuse you, Meteor Garden did really well, like really well way before Boys Over Flowers. Maybe you were too…
And before Boys Over Flowers there was Hana Yori Dango which also had really good ratings...so either way Boys Over Flowers/Hana Yori Dango/Meteor Garden all need to stop having remakes lol

Another miss Oh Fl lead is not a good example, instead the so called antagonist, "the Pretty" is a perfect example…
Once again, I never said she was one to look up to and I read every single thing you just wrote so I'm not trying to downplay your thoughts or opinions on the show but the show was already eccentric and questionable. Both main leads were nothing but flaws and were very much so distraught and dissatisfied with their lives and I took it as two people obsessed over their pasts with no hope of overcoming their self doubt and troubling personalities.
But everyone sees and worries about the Pretty One. No one cares to ask or see if the 'ugly' one is okay or asks why she acts the way she acts. Yet, there are females every where with inferiority complexes but we only call them jealous and say they have low-self esteem. Her actions WERE crazy and I said putting aside her decisions and actions because she made really bad ones but despite those she became aware of who she was and how her actions affected the others around her. It took her a hell of a long time but it happened. She made her own life hard without ever acknowledging it and that happens to soo many woman/ young ladies because they're so worried or obsessed with the girl who's prettier than her or have more accomplishments than her. It's realistic, so I PERSONALLY found her someone you don't want to become and someone you should see as a life lesson to believe and care about yourself first.

Because despite the FL not catering to everyone's definition of a 'strong' female and despite how crazy the whole drama was period, Oh Young knew her faults and accepted them. She was dumb for men and she acknowledged that. Putting aside her decisions because the whole premise of that show was pretty eccentric anyway, there are still females out there who have confidence, are honest and can see everyone else's mistakes but still make their own lives hard. Not saying she was a FL lead to look up to but she was realistic.

Wow, you have made me re-analyze the way I think about reviewing dramas. It's like I've always thought about them this way but I've never compared it to literature, even though all shows have to start with a script. Very interesting and intriguing article.
And the fact that you gave examples and details to backup your research is great!

As expected from a 66 episodes drama - it's going to get draggy at some point and it's already in affect on EP…
Harems need to stop...I know it's a history thing but it doesn't belong in this drama and is about to make me hate it

Title Legend of Fu Yao Spoiler
I don't know why they added the harem thing in Fuyao? It's unnecessary but I guess they want to make her jealous…
the harem thing is totally unnecessary and when I saw it coming it just turned me off from the drama but I really hope FuYao just gets through this without any unnecessary bull crap and we can move on with our lives and have these jealous women put in their place....but with 66 eps i doubt it lol
oh and yes please go back to all the men liking FuYao, that was much more enjoyable because of all the pent up frustration XD i do not enjoy girls screaming at each other -_-

lol am I the only one who finds the excessive twirling + wind from ep 17/18 funny?
I was at work during down time when that happened and I wanted to laugh so bad but couldn't XD
