Hope you have a better experience with this one!. I quite enjoyed it but I'm not sure if I "favourite list" enjoyed it or whether it will be like candyfloss (cotton candy), sweet but dissolves without a trace.

Hilarious ye olde anglicised names in this one: Emperor Orville Lockhart, shadow guard Crispin, General Alaric, eunuch Cedric. (Although "Noctis Fitzgerald" is still the most ludicrous I've seen in all the VSD so far).
There was no plot, just a string of good take-downs, couple chemistry that healed me from Stealing Beauty and made me aaaawww out loud, and unexpected Radiohead in the qipao area (not the radio edit either, but you can pretend it says "so very special"). Fab lol.

Lin Yi Xin, the unfavoured grandaughter of the Yan family, is sick of seeing everything go to her male cousin Yan Li Han even though she is the only one caring for their ailing Grandfather. She is in denial about her massive crush on Song Xiang, secretary of the Yan family corporation, but when even she goes to Li Han, Yi Xin's bitter envy overflows and adoration turns sour.
Even so, every word out of her mouth and every action is only about Song Xiang , trying to get her attention, trying to alienate her from everyone so she can have her for herself. She even tries to make her jealous by staying by Li Ying's side -which also gives her the opportunity to push her cousin to Li Ying sooner so he is no longer her rival for Song Xiang. After all, Yan Li Han is the kind of pointlessly arrogant scum that is usually a villainous 2ML or husband before rebirth; blaming all his sadistic control and humiliation tactics on his sick old grandfather, he clearly doesn't deserve Secretary Song.
After everyone learns that Song Xiang is the treasured daughter of the prestigious Chu family, Lin Yi Xin realises she's gone too far in offending her and they can never be together - she finally lets go of her obsession. Yan Li Han, however, gets even greedier. He knows only blood can redeem him now. But, for the sake of Chu status and power , on top of getting his canary obediently back, what's a little calculated risk? He arranges a "hero saving the beauty" trap with the help of his fiancée Li Ying. When the first stabbing attempt fails to win Song Xiang over, they up the ante with a kidnapping in exchange for Yan Corp shares: Yan li Han knows the Chu family is worth much more and Li Ying knows she was never going to marry Yan Li Han for real so this is the least she could get.
However, in a shock reversal of Stockholm Syndrome, Li Ying has also become obsessed with Song Xiang, telling Li Han that "we grew up together but she understands me better than you do". But Song Xiang still chooses Yan Li Han even after all he did to her- this rejection was too much for the already unstable Li Ying. Believing death was the only way to free Song Xiang from his torturous clutches, Li Ying shouts "Li Han, what I can't have, you can't have either" and lunges forward, intending to join her and Song Xiang together forever.

Finally watched it after your recommendation. The Actual Best. I nearly had the same peeing myself reaction he did (but with laughter ) when his Mum brought out the breast pump and it was the last straw for him.
Had to work hard on my suspension of disbelief at times but was enough fun it was worth it.
Really could not ignore illogicality of father kidnapping who he knows is 3rd master Duan's wife for Jiang Wenxi to SA - no gain for him since Jiang family engagement already sorted with Xiao Yu Chan and risk of massive retribution from more powerful family. I mean VSD are bonkers anyway and this was tongue in cheek OTT done right (side-eye at yesterday's tongue in cheek done gross https://kisskh.at/792480-si-cang-yi-pian-zhui-luo-de-xing-guang ) so I already let so much slide but rapist pimp father for no reason and he doesn't even get properly hit with the golf club urgh!! And in fact they pay him to cut ties- talk about rewarding bad behaviour - where are the Duan family mob overtones when you need them?
However unapologetic feisty FL and unashamed canary ML are adorable together and the moment FL protects the entire family was glorious.
