He is def the strongest fighter so far cuz he’s A ghost demon warrior dude and he’s hella old but in episode 19 he mentioned that his spirit power was starting to weaken as he completes each step to become a human so I think once that happens we’ll him lose more battles, especially since they just introduced a really strong villain who is after FL. In the trailer there’s a couple more characters yet to be introduced so hopefully the battles will more balanced

So far I am enjoying this drama very much! I really hate amnesia tropes & misunderstandings/miscommunications between leads so I am very happy the show got those annoying tropes out of the way in the earlier episodes. I know that they’ve kept the leads apart for multiple episodes to flesh out the story & the side characters but I actually appreciated it more. I don’t care for shows where every supporting characters make decisions in service of moving the story long for the main leads only. I also LOVE the women on the show- everyone has their own personalities & abilities & not fighting over something petty like men lol. Are there some parts that kinda drag? Of course! But so far the pace is good & the world building is interesting so I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays out! Now looking forward to their jealousy era!!

Of the other MLs but he def still good looking but to each their own. Hopefully it won’t deter you enjoying the series because I think it’s been good so far!

I’m actually enjoying the plotting & scheming between the sisters for power over the tea empire & I’m glad it’s not over a man (at least not yet). We have so many male centered shows that revolve around government conspiracies & revenge that it’s good see something different for a change. I’m enjoying it so far :)

Whoa Gina!!! I paused this at episode 2 and I’m am sooooooo thankful that I did because WTF??? After reading the comments & reviews I feel like I will skip Ren Jiu Lin’s dramas for now because the last few series has been a hot mess of an ending! Thank you to the viewers who persevered to the end and gave us the scoop- not all heroes wear capes!! 👏

I agree!! I really love the family dynamics & the love they have for one another. I enjoying watching smart women & I’m glad the women are the smartest ones in the family but I’m also glad that the men are also not useless (maybe the brother but at least he does the dishes!). And I’m happy to see that the little girl is adorable! Oftentimes they make kids so annoying & nosy on the shows. I esp like that the ML has a personality - he’s such a warm character !

Same! I enjoyed the dynamic between ML & FL a lot. I loved how loving & tender they were w/one another. The hugs & kisses 😊 def top 3 drama in 2025 for me (#1 ADWAD & #2 POB).

I’ve been in a slump after ADWAD - thank goodness for Shadow Love. It started off a little wonky but after a couple episodes it found its stride & kept getting better & better- I think it’s because of how they built up the relationship between ML & FL. Having first establishing a solid foundation between ML & FL really helped the relationships between them & the supporting casts. I’ve always liked Song Yi even though her dramas haven’t been that great (I enjoyed her in her limited screen time on JOL) but Cheng lei is a new discovery for me. He was the only reason why I finished My Journey To You. I made it halfway in The Female General before dropping it because of him. But wow! He was soooo good in this show. Song Yi & Cheng Lei did a great job carrying this show to finish line. Now I’m going to be in another c-drama slump :(

I’m disappointed in the 8.2 rating on MDL and even more disheartened by the Douban rating of 4.8 but to each their own! I am really enjoying this show a lot because of the relationship between ML & FL. It’s just a sweet & easy kinda love where they are supportive of each other w/out being cringey or toxic (Shuang & Jin An). I love how the ML is the unserious & silly househusband while the FL is the one with a steady job!! Does Jin An currently have any ambitions beyond being a stay-at-home husband & occasional killing machine? Nope. And I’m fine w/it cuz we’ve seen plenty of FL that just want to have their happy ending w/their man & nothing more. Is it hypocritical of me to hate that type of FL but be ok w/Jin An? Absolutely because we don’t see too many of those types of ML. I’m happy that Cheng Lai doesn’t have too big of an ego to play Jin A who is not always the cool & calm ML that we’re so used to….

I love how FL is portrayed as a bad ass general w/out losing her femininity. Oftentimes writers/director equate strong FL characters w/masculine tendencies. I also love how they make FL smart & capable w/out diminishing the intelligence and capabilities of the ML orher subordinates. They strategize together & she listens to the counsel. It’s more believable to me. I also love her outfits!

And Cheng Lei has elite side-eye/looking back look. So elite that the bad guy recognized him because of it 😂

Song Yi as a general is believable even if she is petite. I like her demeanor & I’m glad her military camp is not loosey-goosey like some other military camps (**ahem**) 😂

It’s like ADWAD where NH is always flying to save YM! 😂

I enjoyed this random unhinged & toxic show so much that I invested $1.99 on MangoTV subscription. I know viewers will prob be turned-off by the chokeholds & slaps FL received but I appreciated that she gave it back also. I love FL here cuz she DGAF and was the walking embodiment of “I gotta put me first” and I loved it for her lol. The ML was kinda hot and wore his outfit/cloak well. I think this worked because it was a short drama - I wouldn’t have enjoyed otherwise.

I think it’s because of the romance cuz it def ain’t the plot lol. The more appropriate title for this drama should be “Romancing the Female General.” Everything that happens on the show is to further move the romance plot along so if you’re able accept that, then the sizzling romance is def not a bad watch.

lol. There’s a middle ground somewhere. I think it’s okay to occasionally enjoy mindless media as long as it doesn’t consume your existence. As an adult, I can be dazzled by the shiny beauty of it all, agree that many things are actually garbage, but also enjoy learning & finding ways to improve myself as a human bean.

I think it’s a suggestion for those who are having a hard time reconciling their expectations with the actual drama. It does hurt the brain when logic goes out the window . You have a few choices: continue to watch it & complain about the sus logic, turn off your brain & enjoy the drama, or drop it. Lol

I didn’t read the novel so my opinions are based on the drama. I did assume that it would be more about her journey to being a general so more military & war storyline . So far it’s just romance & focused on their relationship so I had to readjust my expectations
