I’ve said this before after the first few episodes that I’m going to lower my expectations, turn off my brain, enjoy the romance! But at this point my brain has been so turned off that I’m practically brain dead. I’ve suspended so much belief that I’ve stumbled into Labubus Land 😳 BUT I’m going to continue because I need a good distraction from whatever the heck is happening in the US of A. I’m going to stay in delulu land in which a low rank soldier can talk to their commander like they’re buddies & no other soldiers question said low rank soldier’s transfer to a private room or why the same soldier is not doing any military drills lol

You make some valid points. I haven’t seen any trauma or PTSD from her years at war or her family’s betrayal - I wished they showed that more. However, I disagree with you that she isn’t seeking revenge or retribution for the past wrongs. Her main reason for joining the army is to rise in ranks because she knows that’s the only way for her to seek out justice. She’s pretty much a nobody with no connections - and she’s a woman. What options does she have but to try to win merits through her blood and sweat? Who is she supposed to discuss & plot her revenge with if she hasn’t made any friends or connections? As for her bubbly personality, we saw glimpses of it when she was at the academy - it didn’t just come out of nowhere. I think without the restraints of being the fake heir & always watching her back she is able to let loose & let her personality come out more. I do agree eith u regarding ML though - my boy just stands there and stares & scowls. If u watch this for the romance, I think u won’t be disappointed. But if u are looking for complex plot, I think you should lower your expectations.

I agree ☝️! I’m enjoying this so much and looking forward to the next episodes to see where the next clues will lead - like the more they uncover the bigger the conspiracy! I’m disappointed in the ratings but not surprised. If the romance department is lacking for whatever reasons the rating will be low, especially if they think the FL doesn’t “deserve” the ML’s love lolz. Anyways- I don’t let the ratings affect my enjoyment of shows because a lot of the higher rating shows I didn’t care for at all. It’s all subjective.

I think FL & ML started off already in love & stayed in love so the tension isn’t there like other shows. There is a familiarity vibe from them that feels like they’ve been in love for so long that it’s like comfort & trust. Since romance isn’t the main focus I don’t think they’re leaning in as much into that aspect of it so for me it’s not a big deal that’s it’s not as sizzling as other shows TBH. I am enjoying the rapport between all the characters so this doesn’t really affect my viewing of it.

So far this is def a smart show - I binged all 8 episodes in one sitting. The mystery keeps expanding so far every episode has been great to me .
