Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
Ep 4-Li Changge steals the royal seal and avoids capture with the aid of A'Dou who shows an uncanny ability to…
Wonderful summary! I think for me, the scenes that stood out most were the moments where A'Sun and Chang Ge continuously cross paths in their times of need. Within this episode alone they have encountered each other three times. 3 is considered a magic and perfect number. One of its spiritual meanings is that it represents past, present, and future. A'Sun was present in all parts of Chang Ge's journey since the beginning. He was present in her past, which was before everything had changed for her, he was with her throughout her journey and helped her in some of her most dire situations, and we see that he later on becomes her future, her life partner. These three aspects play a huge part in fate. Both Chang Ge and A'Sun had been fated from the start, so my title for this episode would be "Fateful Encounters."

"A Game of Cat and Mouse" is a great title for this episode and I think your idea of "Assassination" is also pretty good. There were lots of moments that stood out in episode 3, and the biggest one was probably Chang Ge's assassination attempt.

There were also little moments within the episode that accumulate to a bigger theme within the episode, which were the different characters who were after each other, like HappyBirdEgg's idea, a game of cat and mouse.

Ep 03 Summary
For me, in this episode, we see that Chang Ge is lost and is trying to plan her next step. So her first step was to go find the one person who she though she could trust and that was Wei Shuyu. However, to her disbelief, she saw Wei Shuyu's exchange with Du Ruhui which hurt her deeply and made her feel betrayed. Shuyu later on catches up to her and they get in an argument that led to Chang Ge leaving him behind. Then we have Chang Ge's failed assassination attempt. It's her first encounter with Li Shimin after her mom's death, so this is the scene where she makes it clear that she wants revenge and that she wants him dead. We also get Leyan's meeting with Chang Ge for the first time after her mother's death. And here, Chang Ge is also cold towards Leyan, and refuses to accept her help. Because this is an episode where Chang Ge is cutting loose from everyone who was close to her, I would call the episode, "Severe All Ties."

Massacre is a very fitting title indeed. There is so much death in episode 2 and so much pain and sorrow that Chang Ge had felt. Massacre is such a brutal and dark name for an episode, but it's very fitting for this could be considered the darkest, if not one of the darkest moments of Chang Ge's life.

You did a very thorough job of summarizing ep 2 WK1. I don't think that there is anything else I need to add. In my perspective, when I had watched episode 2, two scenes that stood out to me the most were the two scenes where Chang Ge made her vow. Her mother had made her vow to not live with hate, and Chang Ge had done just that with the exception of promising to take revenge on those who hurt her mother. Towards the end of the episode, Chang Ge once again made another vow that carries out the exception in her first vow. This made me think that episode 2 could be named, "Vow to Heaven."

Another name I think would fit is, "No Love, No Hate." It's actually a lyric from Sa Ding Ding's song that is a prominent song in episode 2, as well as in the drama whenever Chang Ge loses someone. I think that would fit very well because of how true it rings to the story as well as in life itself. Without love there would be no hate. Chang Ge's hatred and thirst for revenge had brewed from the moment she had lost her mother. Because she loves her mother so much. She was willing to listen to her mother and vowed to not live in hatred except for when someone harms her mother. We also know the love and respect that Chang Ge has for her uncle. This love later on turns in hatred. There's a saying that the greater the love, the greater the hatred. Chang Ge loved her mother so much and felt so betrayed by her uncle, that from that moment in episode 2, she had promised to make revenge the main purpose of the remaining course of her life.

I don't mind posting for the other episodes as well. But if anyone else wants to do it, I am totally okay with that and don't mind either haha. If you don't mind, how about you start the thread for episode 2 WK1?

I agree, after reading everyone's suggestion, I can't bare to vote for one particular one. Maybe instead of voting for one specific one, we can just leave it as is? No need to vote, we can just have fun and come up with titles that we see fit, and multiple entires are also applicable. The point of the idea is share our own personal analyses of the episodes and also learn from others perspective. Voting is not necessary :)

Starting a new thread so we don't clog up the comments :)
Gosh so many good names! So difficult to choose from cause they all make sense.... Hmm I have another suggestion that might be a bit boring but will also include all of our ideas.
"PRELUDE"

WK1 says that episode 1 is like an introduction, the set up for all of our characters and plotline.
Biri_biri pointed out that first episode is the starting point of a great change for all characters.
HappyBirdEgg states that episode 1 is the calm before the storm, events that occur before everything went downhill for Chang Ge.
Grizzy Ashe makes an interesting connection to Shakespeare's play that has a similar hidden meaning---the battle has begun.
And finally Royals mentioned the reversal of luck and unexpected encounters that the characters face.

Hence I think "Prelude" might be a good title, for it means, "an action or event serving as an introduction to something more important." Another definition for "Prelude" is that it's "an introductory to a piece of music." The name of the drama is The Long Ballad. So the prelude could also mean introductory to the song, the introduction and starting point of Chang Ge's ballad. What do you guys think?

Hello, for those who have read my previous post, this is the start of the "Episode Naming Discussion"Basically…
My notes of Episode 1 summary:
Chang Ge's mother warns Li Shimin about Crown Prince's plans (We later on find out that this allows him to plan out his next step and put up his guard against Crown Prince)
The Cuju Game (A'Sun joins in the game to test out and learn more about Tang's forces)
It's also the first episode, so some of the key players/characters of the drama are introduced, and we get to see a bit of their personality and essence.
It is also the first meeting between Chang Ge and A'Sun.

Based on these observations, my idea for the name of episode one is "Know Your/Thy Enemy"

Hello, for those who have read my previous post, this is the start of the "Episode Naming Discussion"
Basically each day, or whenever I am on, I will be posting a brief summary/analysis of each episode of TLB in chronological order. Others can add their own summary/analyses of what they think the main scenes are. We will then all discuss and maybe come to a consensus of a proper episode name :)
Remember, it is okay to have differing opinions and thoughts. Each person views things differently, it is okay even if we don't come to an agreement. The main point is to help everyone who is interested either broaden or deepen their understandings of the episode and drama as a whole. Remember to mark summaries or analyses as spoilers! Let's begin!

Yup, must remind everyone that this isn't a competition, but more of a discussion that helps broaden or deepen our understanding of the episode and drama as a whole.

That was my idea from the start WK1, never wanted to make it a competition. I like your elaboration a lot and the layout of how we can carry out this idea. I've got a few brief notes I've made based on my memory. It's not technically an analysis per say, but more like a summary of of what I think the main scenes. I'll get episode one started right now and you or others can add analyses of your own and we can have a proper discussion on what to name the episode :)

I'd rather we play here so that more people can participate. For now maybe we can do it by ear? And if comments clog up again we can move it to discussion. WK1, maybe read my suggestion of how we can play the game above, and let me know if this is an effective way.

That's why I suggested that we only do one episode a day so that there isn't a bunch of episode name suggestions under one comment. Besides the initial comment of the episode description, every other comment should be fairly short and wouldn't clog up the system. I don't mind having the game in discussion section, I'm just worried most people won't be aware of it and won't be able to participate. :(

Wonderful idea! I don't think much people go in discussion so why don't we do what Sakie had done? Each day, a different episode, and people can comment name ideas under that comment? I also like the way you organized it so we can do it in that format :D
