I've read your conversation with Gesun Bird Egg, and I've seen what was said from both sides. I hope Gesun Bird Egg won't mind if I respond to this in her stead. Noway, similar to our discussion before, I still don't agree with some of your thoughts, but I respect it all the same haha.
Anyway, back to the discussion at hand. The problem here isn't that she started liking Hao Du, but that she started loving him so abruptly. In a relationship, it takes time for two parties to develop feelings for each other and eventually love. Especially when one was already infatuated with someone else right before the relationship started. Both Gesun Bird Egg and Anya pointed out how weird it was for Leyan to fall in love with Hao Du so quickly when one, she was still in love with Shuyu, and two, there were no obvious signs of her feelings for Hao Du whether it be crushing/romantic feelings, or just attraction towards his looks.
A'Sun falling for Chang Ge can not be compared to Leyan falling for Hao Du. One was slowly developing over time, from respect and admiration, to that of fondness and liking, and eventually love. For Leyan, it was more like she was treating Hao Du as a second option. He was never on her mind before, she never liked him the same way she likes Shuyu. But then suddenly after the fight scene, she immediately fell in love with him. I like Gesun Bird Egg had said about actions speaking louder than words. Leyan stated that she realized Hao Du was the one she loves, but her actions before ep 42 doesn't support her words in any way. It doesn't make sense.
I love her! So many layers to this amazing character, she will always be my favorite character and have a special place in my heart :,) the fact that she had gone through so much at the age of 15 amazes me each time I think about it.

As much as I enjoy Hao Du and Leyan's characters, I'd rather keep the drama the way it is. I loved my Gesun scenes, and would rather have a slightly underdeveloped relationship for Haoyan than risk cutting out Gesun scenes to develop Haoyan's relationship.

I actually don't recall any of those loving expressions she made towards Hao Du lol, but I guess you saw from a different perspective compared to mine. Also the argument that the reason she showed no affections for Hao Du because she thinks he doesn't feel the same way about her isn't really a strong one because then why does she still show affection for Shuyu despite knowing that he like Chang Ge? It's the same scenario, if anything based on your argument, she should be more reserved when it comes to her affections for Shuyu because it's less likely for her to be with Shuyu than for her to be with Hao Du.
From what I saw he only became desperate after having believed that Chang Ge is dead lol, in which my argument would still stand, he didn't care about her until Chang Ge was out of the picture. But I can see what you mean when you point out at which point he fell for her because that would make sense.
Either way, each person has their own perspectives, if you still don't agree with me, don't let my opinions ruin your enjoyment for the show. We just have different tastes in romance and perspective is all. :)
