Yes, I totally agree. Loving CG was hard. but AS has never been one to choose easy for anything. If he saw the…
Wonderful analysis! All the more reasons for us to love this man! He is someone of principle and discipline and is extremely loyal and protective to those he cares about.
Ok, initially, yes, she did rush into making decisions. Like, when she decided to assassinate Li Si Min on her…
I totally agree. But even when Chang Ge herself had stopped being reckless and jumping headfirst into danger, she still manages to get herself into life threatening situations. For example, when she went to meet with Leyan, but it had actually turned out to be a trap set up by Hao Du. Although the threat of Hao Du and Du Ruhui is no longer around, with Chang Ge's personality, she is bound to put herself in danger once again later on if it were to save someone and there were no other options. But luckily we have Sun who is there to protect her, and our girl can very much protect herself.
Really wish they had fleshed out that fire scene a bit more. Made zero sense honestly.
Hi all! Kaju's earlier conversation with WK1 about the naming of TLB episodes on Viu gave me a game idea that can deepen our understanding of the episode and make us want to explore the meaning and emphasis of it. Why don't we all come up with ideas of names that we can name each episode of TLB? Would anyone be interested in playing? I think it will be quite fun and thought provoking to play and deepen our understanding of each episode.
Haha yes! I just needed to take social media break for a while. But I'm back, unfortunately during a a rough time for us commenters. Hoping no one gets discouraged and decides to leave.
After rewatching this drama a number of times, I just want to say how much I love and admire the love that Ashile Sun has for Chang Ge. Chang Ge is a lovable character but it is not easy to love her. She is head strong and lives a turbulent life. She rushes head first into danger and constantly does not give a care about her life in order to save others. These are some of the traits that make her such an admirable and lovable character, but it makes it difficult for those who love her.
In Shuyu's words, "You don't fear for death. But I'm afraid of your death." To love her is to constantly live with the fear that one day her luck will run out and she will eventually die or get herself into a helpless situation. Throughout the drama, we have witnessed many close calls of these situations that Chang Ge has gotten into. But yet, despite it all, A'Sun continues to persistently love her with an unwavering heart. Instead of confining her and holding her back in order to protect her, all he ever wanted to do is to be by her side to share her experiences and protect her. And if he could, he is willing to take upon all the sufferings on himself and allow her to be safe and living her life the way she wants. It's these very traits that had made him respect her from the first moment he had met her, and eventually caused him to fall in love with her the more he gets to know her. He loves her for who she is, and he didn't need her to change who she is to be with him or for him to love her. All he ever wanted was for her safety and happiness.
How Li Changge has and will inspire a lot of women (my perspective):-What does Li Changge mean to me? I always…
Very well said! Something that makes Li Chang Ge stand out from other female characters is that she is portrayed as a realistic and relatable character. She's not perfect or is Mary Sue, nor is she a character that continuously does hateful and questionable things. Her flaws and shortcomings are believable and relatable, and in turn had made me love her more as I embark on the journey with her where she matures from her experiences and learns from the people she meets. All of the character traits that you have mentioned are what makes her such a great role model for many women including myself. Her character is layered and complex, and you can really see and feel her struggles throughout her journey. You learn with her and you empathize with her. Such an amazing character.
I think they’re trying to push us out, as they think we’re just spamming this page now…I think Sakie is…
Please don't leave us Linh! It doesn't matter what other people think! We ourselves know the real reason why we keep coming back and commenting in this comment section! It was never to increase comments, it was always to discuss and share the love we have for this drama. Along the way we might've gotten caught up with it all and wanted to become the most commented forum for fun, but that was never the main goal. Those who have complained are either just jealous or just want to spread their negative thoughts to us. Don't mind them! We have each other, and we will continue to comment and enjoy together! I will continue to comment and will never stop. If they want to stop me then they'll have to ban my account.
Exactly! Even by dropping BTS can be very helpful as it allows viewers to see the process of how such an amazing drama came to be and even see the chemistry of actors and actresses off screen that will enhance the viewing experience on screen.
Can someone please explain to me what is considered 'relevant' or 'irrelevant' comments? if i said i had eggs…
I don't think I have seen any irrelevant comments on here. The games are a fun way for those who have already watched the drama to engage and go back to the drama and examine the details they haven't noticed before, and may even give them a better understanding of the drama. Every other comment is about how much we love TLB, the things we love about it, what makes it special, new details we notice, character analysis etc., which is very beneficial for those who have never watched as they may become intrigued by it. I am someone who likes to look at the comment section of a drama to see how everyone generally thinks of it to decide if whether it is worth watching rather than looking at the reviews. The comment section of TLB is one of my favorite things about watching this drama. It gave me the opportunity to meet like minded people who I can talk and discuss the drama with.
Here I wiil type some reflections on her journey in decision making1. Many have commented that she was impulsive.…
Wonderful analysis. It honestly was such a joy for me to watch her growth. One of the many things that I love about Chang Ge is the way she learns and matures through her experiences and the people she encounters. Her growth and journey to find her Tao is basically what the whole story is about. Her character growth is more of an internal kind of growth, and us viewers can see it through her decision making with each episode that goes by.
The more she learns and the more people she meets, she learns something out it and begins to weigh her choices much more than how she would in the past. She comes to realize that there are more things at stake than just her revenge. She has suffered but she has also learned, and we see it through her actions and thoughts as the story progresses. The Chang Ge in episode 49 who is thoughtful and meticulous in her decisions is so different compared to the impulsive and arrogant Chang Ge from episode 1. The writers have definitely done a great job in fleshing out this character so that we can see the many layers underneath as we peel each one away. Her thoughts and actions are all reflected within each arc within the story and it's such a beautiful thing to see.
Does Chang Ge love A’Sun as much as he loves her? Or is their relationship simply “bromance”?I have seen…
Wow, you have beautifully summarized everything regarding the development in Chang Ge's feelings for A'Sun. Haoyan is a pretty decent couple in their own way, for I too had enjoyed their relationship from the start. But during my rewatches, I had noticed the flaws and lack of development in their relationship that I didn't notice the first time. I realized in myself that ever since people started to hate on Gesun in order to praise Haoyan, I have grown into a quite bitter person and could only look at the faults of Haoyan's relationship. My distaste for the ship grew cause I can’t fathom how anyone could say that they had a better developed relationship compared to Gesun. I was angered that such a beautiful and precious relationship such as Gesun's is being downgraded when it is possibly one of the best relationships ever portrayed in a drama. Chang Ge and A'Sun are two of my most lovable characters who have won their rightful places in my heart as my favorite female and male drama characters. When I saw the increase of people who hate on their relationship or their individual characters, I can't hold myself back.
Reading your post somehow gave me a sense of peace. I shouldn't be wasting my time fighting with these haters. There's no need for me to do so. Gesun is a strong and stable relationship, and the points you made really shows the complexity and beauty of their relationship, and made me realize there is nothing for me to prove. The facts prove for themselves how great Gesun are together as well as individually. Besides myself, there's also a whole army of Gesun fans who love and adore them as much as I do. And maybe that's enough for me.
