I agree that this is getting pretty tiring. I have not read what you wrote yet, I will read it at the first opportunity..…
Exactly that. I also tend to dislike perfect characters, I don't know why, it's off putting to me haha. I like characters with flaws, the ones you can relate to and learn from. You can also empathize with them more. Perfectly written characters just makes me want to slap them haha. Just me though lol, no hate to those who do enjoy those types of characters.
I really really loved Hao do and Lian's love story than the Main leadsthe journey that lian went through and her…
I don't know about tough situation. Hao Du and Leyan seemed to have it pretty easy. I mean all Hao Du had to do was fight for her and poof, Shuyu was forgotten, and she immediately fell for Hao Du and got married with him not long after. Um and A'Sun was interested in Chang Ge but not in a romantic way. He was more so impressed by her cuju skills. He only started to develop feelings for Chang Ge after finding out that she was girl.
I feel you Kaju, I too am getting tired of responding to these haters who shit on Chang Ge's character because…
It's the backhanded compliments that anger me most. Like you can clearly see what their intentions are, so why are they even bothering to put on a facade. And when we call them out on it, they play the victim card.
I too have enjoyed this forum to a great extent. So many people with so many different interpretations and perspectives of certain scenes and characters, which have all given more insight to them that I hadn't thought of before. It's also great to see that some of my thoughts are also shared by other people.

Excellent points. There are just so many layers to Chang Ge's character, she's just so different and refreshing compared to female leads that I've watched before. She's not perfect, and has very noticeable flaws, but it makes me love her even more. It's such a joy to watch her growth throughout her journey. It angers me as well as makes me sad when people talk bad about her or are unable to see her growth.

I wish I'm able to have the same level of self control as you WK1. How you don't lose your cool when talking to these haters is beyond my level of emotional control lol. I may try to hold myself back, but then end up getting worked up over it.

You are absolutely right. But something that irks me is that these people who just watch shows for entertainment or to have a good time, are usually the ones who tend to criticize the most. If you watched the drama without intending to pay attention and notice the details at first, then what makes you think you have the right or authority to write your complaints? It disrupts the mood and enjoyment of other watchers who enjoy it. Unfortunately I see this problem come up most when it comes to Chang Ge's character vs. Leyan's character, or GeSun vs. HaoYan. Leyan's character growth is clear as day to see, and Haoyan's love story is a typical romance that is cliche and sweet.
On the other hand, Chang Ge's character is much more complex, and you need to take the time to consider everything that involves this character. Her, age, trauma, purpose, thoughts, etc. Her growth is more difficult to see because she is one to hide or hold back her emotions. She also started off already as strong character, her growth is more internal. We see in her actions, and the way she thinks. With Leyan, she starts off as a weak character who has no confidence and cries all the time. Her growth is more external, as you see the difference in the way she carries herself later on. She expresses herself more which is why her growth is so clearly visible. Every one in the drama even stated how much she's changed.
GeSun has a a complex yet mature and healthy relationship. They both tend to not be overly affectionate, but from their gazes, actions, and simple gestures, you can clearly see and feel the love that they have for each other. With Haoyan, again they are the typical couple, they immediately jumped into a relationship and then were not shy of showing off their love. People fail to understand that love isn't just about the sweet words or sweet gestures. A great relationship requires trust, communication, and respect. Gesun has every one of these traits and more. It's not difficult for one to see if only they just paid more attention.
I made a post in the discussion section bcoz I'm tired of writing the same thing again and again, to repeat myself…
I feel you Kaju, I too am getting tired of responding to these haters who shit on Chang Ge's character because they're too close minded to try and understand her character and where she is coming from. It reminds me of the scene in ep 18 when the people of Shuozhou were cursing at Chang Ge for being a traitor despite not knowing the sacrifices she made for them and her struggles. Similar to what is happening in the drama, it is happening now in reality. I love Chang Ge, and despite getting tired of all the bs I'm hearing, I will continue to defend her no matter how many times I have to repeat myself.
I love her! So many layers to this amazing character, she will always be my favorite character and have a special…
I love her name, it has such a nice ring to it. And I absolutely love that it is actually synonymous to the story. It's just perfect and beautiful in every way.

You're right we can't love her enough. I just wanna wrap her in my arms and shield her from any more suffering. Luckily she has A'Sun who will give her all the love she deserves :) Li Chang Ge is a role model for us all.
Oh, come on, relax a little bit. If not all people have the same opinion or see things the same way, it doesn't…
Out of all of us, you should be the last person to be telling someone to chill out. I've been trying to be civil on here but you're getting on my nerves with your lack of comprehension skills. You want us to chill? Says the person who started a whole thread about Haoyan to force them down our throats just because no one agreed with you before. Every creative piece is perceived differently, and it's my favorite part about engaging in these forums. But it doesn't take much to understand the mature and healthy relationship that Gesun has over Haoyan. This isn't an opinion, it's a fact. I can understand if you prefer Haoyan's relationship over Gesun, but to say that they're the better relationship is just absurd and simply comical.
Hi everyone! I just posted my first GeSun fanfic on MDL in the recent discussions. Hope you all enjoy it! I am an amateur so constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!! :D
