Last comment on this series. Ep 131 (Finale):

After watching it, I continue to feel the same after almost every episode - frustrated. It was weird to me that we saw only ES/SW thank JA for her decision. I really wanted to see how EH/EA would react - they really blew it there because her decision puts both of their mothers at risk. i know it's too late at this point for them to try to salvage anything, but they could have perked this one up at the end. The French restaurant thing was a nice throwback to the cooking lessons about 80? episodes ago. But why was Chef "Marie" not in an apron/chef's smock? And why did they label the time jump as "a few months later" when it was clearly labelled at the premiere as being 11/4?

Oh well, it doesn't matter. At least it gave me something to watch at dinner on the weeknights. I guess that's something. Thanks to all here for commiserating with us once again.

Btw, the script that SJ was pushing at the end was a thriller (her words) and the title was the same as this drama:…
I did watch the subbed version tonight with dinner. When she showed the script to the camera, I LOL'd and finally felt vindicated about SOMETHING with this series.

Lol. 😂 take your break then lets watch once again.
Will do! I just need to clear my head next week.
On Unpredictable Family Mar 22, 2024
Ridiculous. They even copied the ending from It's Beautiful Now.

Review submitted. Good riddance to this mess. I don't even need to watch the subbed version. Who cares?

So ep 130 - can’t feel any sympathy for JA tbh. Anyone think she will die? Previews made it seem like she wasn’t…
I was thinking that too. Her's has been an almost cursed life, so full of so much misery and anger....some of it her fault, and other left to fate. Again, just a completely bungled plot that makes almost no sense whatsoever.
On Unpredictable Family Mar 22, 2024
So they followed up yesterday's excellent (for them) episode with another clunker. At least they stayed true to form I guess. Ep 130 was almost like a high school play by comparison to yesterday, replete with ES "...a miracle will happen" and cue JA entrance. I cringed when I saw that. I mean, REALLY??????

Funny how no one there mentions that ES is now at risk for liver disease as she's the only true genetic heir to CY. She'll need to be tested regularly. But, in dramaland, this is unimportant.

This would be an interesting study for EA (and to a lesser extent, EH) as this puts BOTH her mothers at risk. Seeing how she deals with it would be something worth watching, only because that actress is so good.

Let's just get it over with, already.

So, how do you think this series was supposed to end? Before the extension, I mean, because it strikes me that this was just added onto whatever the series was supposed to be.
Was it to end with the double weddings? The last 2 weeks are so out of place that it's the only thing I can think of.

So she saved her afterall... my guess was right!
They didn't even try to make it interesting. How sad (for us, that stuck with this amateurish mess).

OK, well, despite the stupidity of where this show is going, I'll give the them credit: that was one of the best and most realistic scenes I've seen in a Kdrama (or on any TV) of getting the devastating news of a cancer diagnosis. And although I don't care for the performances of CY & DG thus far, they excelled at portraying the disbelief/ fear/denial/panic/desperation sequence of emotions that rush into a couple upon hearing this news. The discussion of the diagnosis at the dinner table was super-realistic too: The portraying of EA's grief, HY's shock, and ES inability to understand what was going on....And EH's desperation in trying to comprehend this. Also, SW's & HY's trying to reassure everyone while trying to not panic as well...as in-laws, they nailed their roles perfectly.
This whole scene was vastly superior to the same scenario in It's Beautiful Now, when Park JiYoung got the same diagnosis. And to give their diagnosis scene the counterpoint of HY/EH getting the ultrasound (possibly at the same hospital?) was kinda cliche, but also fitting too.

So, quality of the series may be sinking fast, but I'm pleased that the actors gave us one (at least) good performance before the end. Kudos all around for this one.

🙄So they'll go with the son in law being the one to save her 🤢I should've known that's what they'd end up…
The last four or five (?) episodes were a liver cancer arc too. The show pretty much fell apart once the oldest couple got married. It turned into a star vehicle for the actress who portrayed the mother of the FL. The first 2/3's of the series were really good.

Straight out of "It's Beautiful Now".

Sadly, all this is so true. And there was no one left to even think about that, with just a caretaker crew left to end out the series. #1 & #5 omission is really bad, IMO. I was really disappointed by SW's lack of interest about his birth Mom. That attitude is really surprising for a drama airing in the family timeslot back home in SK.

OMG, they even brought back the doctor from BML! He was the neurologist in that one, now a liver specialist here. He also played an ER doctor in IBN.

I watched today;s episode - first time I’ve watched since ep 119 - and after thinking JA had a point about ES…
I'm convinced they DO still have feelings for each other.

I was thinking the other nite....what if, as an epilogue, they did a several year time skip (after CY dies from cancer) with JA & DG together, married again, because they never really got over each other?

The more I thought about it, the more I liked it. And THAT'S what I'd have done with the last 2 weeks of the series, to try to save it - turn the show on its head and write out CY and at the funeral for her, JA & DG realize they still love each other. The fallout of that realization and how it would affect the families would have been interesting to watch.
On Unpredictable Family Mar 19, 2024
The only thing I can think of, given the total lack of thinking in these last 2 weeks of the show is: The writers left after delivering the scripts for the first 120 episodes. We know that they usually complete the scripts about 3-4 weeks before airtime, so they were probably long gone ( or left for other prior commitments) after the decision was made to extend the series. Who would want to come back to do 2 more weeks of scripts? This probably fell to some junior writer left around who was looking for work. Hence, this hack job we've been stuck with.

No, you're right. It HAS to be JA, these writers have no imagination.

LMAO first the weekender, now the dailyEpisode 129 PreviewChun-young is shocked when the doctor tells her that…
OH FOR GOD'S SAKE! ARE THEY SERIOUS?

You KNEW this was gonna happen when the Dr. at the Emergency room made that passing comment in yesterday's ep about her liver chemistry being off. I'm stunned they actually recycled the liver cancer trope from IBN! JA is "technically" not too old, but she drinks, and may not be a suitable candidate (although I'm sure they're tempted). It will prolly be SW...HY is preggers so she's out.

I can't believe they are pulling this one. How could they have missed out on amnesia too????
