what was the highest rating this drama had while airing 7.9?
I THINK it started out around 8, but has consistently sunk ever since. I don't recall it ever bumping back up, once the downward slide began.

Let’s hope she hasn’t brought another kid along that is sick or another one for MG to raise while she goes…
That was the most goulish thing I've even seen, where that woman wanted Jan-Di for spare parts for the new model.

The only 'good' thing I can think of was that GRs Mom appeared in just regular street clothes. I was sick of that same type of character in AOME returning all dolled-up in designer wear. GR's mom just appears to be a normal working-class woman. Bigger Picture: What are they going to do with her for another 30 episodes? She's a "one-trick pony".

I don’t understand why the writer’s waited until yesterday, episode 90, to bring in a new girl for SW and…
The only thing I can think of is that these 'limited role' characters are only under contract for x-amount of episodes. So the writers need to find a place to fit them in.

The bigger problem for me is still the pacing and consistency of writing quality. I can't figure out how this and AOME got green-lit as a project, without a clear plot line, storyboard, etc for approval by the money people. It just seems to lurch along.

Yup. I cannot fathom WHY he is doing that.

Well, Sher if you're still out there, The Serial Killer has returned! And it WAS him that brought EH/HY together, albeit not in the way I predicted.

I'll admit, that scene in the ER was really good. Although lifted, almost completely from 3 Bold Siblings (which I'm sure lifted theirs from another series).

And, they are handling her redemption arc pretty well. I can live with it. I'm not that crazy about ANOTHER secret romance, but given the point in the series, I guess they don't have a choice. This show is so wierd. The writers CAN be good and clever at times. Why is this show so badly put together?!?!

And finally in Ep 89, they actually came up with a clever, believable and funny line for ES, in the scene at the chicken store with her and EH where he admits he's been chasing HY (which those two really played well off each other in):
EH: "Why, you don't like it?"
ES: "I'm not sure. I don't love it" (Shakes her head and looks away). CUTE.

I get that writing for 120 eps is a tough proposition. Bravo My Life is still the gold-standard for me. It's just frustrating that so many of these series have potential that goes untapped because the writers just don't see it and end up writing in cliches. I was going to make a long post about my frustrations with this series, but I've decided to save it for my review after it ends. Oh well.

I was left unsatisfied with how the conversation between EH HY and ES went. I guess I was expecting too much from…
What I don't get is that EH is STILL not telling HY everything! She has no idea that SW is his half-brother, and that his birth mom is JA, no less. She'll be overjoyed to see that!
Shame on him for not coming clean on everything. What is he waiting for?

Sorry, but don't see how giving up the role in the movie is protecting her parents. Work is work and personal…
Regarding the EH/HY/ES angle you mentioned...
I found last night's episode with them at the cafe, kind of odd. I believe he's figured out the HY/ES situation (look at the expression on his face as he tries to play dumb as she's telling him about the bad things she did). I would have preferred to have seen his revelation of those events on screen, but whatever at this point. I felt uncomfortable that he knows everything going on, while she is clueless. He should have come clean too, as she's baring her soul to him. This was the first time in the series I felt let down by him.

I find the lack of concern at Cheong films somewhat baffling, as they have lost 3 characters that need to be re-auditioned, cast, and brought up to speed. They're now at least 2 weeks behind schedule, yet no mention of how this all has affected the project? I would have expected the CEO to try to bring ES back, out of loyalty to the company. But he's got to recast the roles that The Loser and Theater Witch had anyways.

I remember he talked about it in an earlier scene - or maybe his mom did?
In yesterday's episode, IIRC, his mom mentioned that he met GR's mom while they were in college.

The audition problem was solved quickly. At least the loser ex did something good for once and the witch is out…
Give it up, SW. She's not worth it. She not only hurt you, but your movie too.

It was gratifying to see JuRi get her comeuppance. Only wish she had been arrested for unlawful imprisonment for locking ES in the closet. Or even the CEO firing her on the spot and having her removed from the bldg.

It's funny, I watched a couple of my favorite episodes of BML yesterday, and remembered how much I liked SangJi's portrayal of DongHee. She must be a good actress, because I couldn't care less about this badly-written ES... At the KBS awards, she spoke so highly of her fellow cast members and this show's team....I wonder if it was just lip service? I'm not feeling any connection in this cast at all.

Now that I think about this, it's kind of ironic: HY has decided to keep her work and personal life separate, and ES cannot. She's turning her back on the company that took a chance and hired her in the first place as an intern, and then gave her the chance to audition and ultimately hired her.

Title Unpredictable Family Spoiler
85 was an interesting episode. Random thoughts:

-Was EH wearing that striped sweatshirt inside out?
-This is the first time I've seen SangJi act with emotion in this show. She did well but couldn't they have handed her some artificial tears when EA was comforting her at the end?
-The actor playing SW did a good job in this episode, and also expressed the character's emotions well. At least he can cry when needed.
-Why is it that every male character in a KBS drama has the SAME BEDSHEETS? The set dressing department must have had a Groupon code to buy that pattern in bulk!

The EH/HY scene: Once again, in the umpteenth KBS drama, they played "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean" as background music in a dramatic relationship scene. Even though I'm partial to EH's storyline, (OK, maybe 'partial' is an understatement), that was a really interesting scene if you think about it: She's telling him everything he already knows, and if she knew the truth (which I don't approve of him hiding from her) it would be really complex. His inability to say anything other than "Yung-Shi" gave me flashbacks to "Oppa!" from AOME's MiRae character. When she finds out who his mother is, she is REALLY going to freak out. Maybe that's why they are running away in the opening credits -are they escaping their parents?

I wonder if the writers are clever enough to realize that could be the real message behind this drama: All three sets of children will end up running away from their parents to be together:
-SW/ES (for obvious reasons)
- EA/MG (CY made it clear she didn't want EA involved with a single father and I'm sure JA would agree, at least quietly, to not piss off her eldest child even more that she has now)
-EH/HY (HY can't face JA, and doesn't want to be around SW that much).

Nahhhh. We'll be force-fed a Happy Ending, no matter who far-fetched it will be.

No, they seem to have dropped it. While doing the laundry today, I thought (and I HATE MYSELF for thinking this), what about the other worn-out trope? Amnesia!!!

What if SW got the WTOD treatment and was left amnesiac afterwards? He can't remember anything since coming back to SK. They won't do this because they need them to reconcile, but it would be a bittersweet ending: He'd have no knowledge of ES, she'd rarely run into him again except for a rare family function. And nobody in the families would say anything. That might be interesting and tense? I really don't care about them much as a couple, so I wouldn't mind it, but it would be wayyyyy unpopular.

I'm relieved I'm not the only one who thought this. Although, their kiss at the end of Ep 84 was pretty good. But yeah, she had much better chemistry with her ML in Bravo My Life.
