I am really sad for KS. Having a dad like SD, in-laws like SS, a wife that abandoned him with a child for 10 now,…
There has to be some catalyst for him to change his personality. Until then, just more of Mr. Humble. He'll just shrug and apologize.

That catalyst would be his divorce. Then he (and maybe JD) can move out of the in-laws (unless they'd put up with him dating another woman). This would cause him to toughen-up and pursue MR. It's going to take a very different KS to chase and marry her, while putting up with criticism from all involved (his in-laws, her family, HR, his Dad, etc). About the only people pulling for him would be her Dad and HoSik.

So JH couldn’t wait to talk about what happened. It annoys me that the family keeps saying MR got roped into…
Against my better judgement I watched 53 & 54. More of the same. I still don't know why they think that a relationship between 2 doormats would make for compelling watching?

I can only imagine one of 2 scenarios behind the scenes for being stuck in this treadmill:
1) Something has gone off the rails in either production or writing and that is why the story-line is flailing about.
2)Or, my original hypothesis from a couple weeks ago that this is actually only a 40 episode series for the main lead's story (maybe 50 if I'm being generous) so this is just filler until next month sometime.

At any rate, this show won't start in earnest until the missing wife shows up. Start your timers for that point. If she really isn't the sidepiece (who seems too young to be JD's mom?), she'll have to appear out of nowhere and I'd guess that initial appearance will be on a Friday for a cliff-hanger episode.

A Friday in late July, perhaps?

They couldn't even let her get a job? SERIOUSLY? The writers won't give us ANY movement in this stupid show????…
I started writing a lengthy reply, but don't want to spoil it for you. Enjoy, it's a lot of fun. Just remember that despite all the family members, co workers, etc, this is really HER story and she and the ML are the only characters that count. This is one of those series where there is NO "second lead syndrome".

I actually thought about which way the story will go and tbh, narratively the separation after that point is more…
Agreed on everything. Question is: Will the split (which I agree will be driven by the exposure of the lie)happen before the 3 month period is up? Or during/after she moves out?

Wil.E Coyote of kdrama... i am cackling 😂 😂 😂 (it fits so well tho)Btw the actress already is apparently…
Oh, she's already prepping for the Queen Wongyeong role?! I didn't think they started shooting that until later this year. This would be a good excuse to ease her character out of the show, if ratings and the domestic audience reaction warrants it. She would probably be able to nail down that role, given the Queen's ambitious nature, but she will eventually get crushed and we'd feel sorry for her.

How can MR can say he’s not a playboy. This is the first time she has dated him and knows nothing about him…
Loelha, that's IT!!! It's that deer-in-a-headlights look she always has on her face. You took the words right out of my mouth. She's always got that wide-eyed stunned look about her. The only time she doesn't is at the academy in her scenes with JD.

For me, there is something off-putting about her. I can't figure out what it is.

So I was thinking about SeJin (because what else is there to think about mid-week when the next Episode seems so far away?)

It's kind of interesting how the writer has her build up all these elaborate evil plans, only to have them blow up in her face.

She's kind of like the Wile E. Coyote of K-Dramas.

He really likes sticking it to her, and because of this, she's the most unusual villain I've seen in a drama. And it occurred to me, it almost seems personal to him. I posted a few weeks ago that I figured he hates her even more than we do.

I wonder, if he based her on a real person in his life, and this is a chance for him at a bit of vengeance?

It would be interesting if true. Back to waiting for Saturday Morning.

This show is draining me of all my energy.
They've now managed to make almost everyone in the cast unlikable.
They've wasted all of our time for the last 51 episodes.
About the only thing that held my interest was looking for the scar on the face of the sidepiece that Sher pointed out earlier. Otherwise, this was a pile of TV Spam....again.

Guess we have to wait another day to find out who mystery guy is.
Jun Pyo gets more action than the ML. Sheesh.

Are we ready for another week of no progress? 😂
I should have my head examined. But yes....

Everything you point out is accurate.

As the audience we want to see them together, of course. Romance and a Happy Ending are all most of us ask for from this type of drama. Some dramas give it to us, others don't. But we know (for now) that this can't happen yet; it wouldn't be realistic and this writer is tied to that view. There was a perfect opportunity for their first kiss at the end of 22, when she told him they'd live as a married couple. He could have easily leaned in and kissed her for the ending shot. We also have to remember that as much as the writer is trying to be realistic, he likes to tease us too. So there's that.

My issue is that not only fear is bouncing around in her head, but GUILT is CRUSHING her. Every time she talks with InOk, in at least the last 4 episodes, her guilt increases to the point now where she breaks down in tears. She has to do SOMETHING to alleviate her guilt towards her elders. I said weeks ago that they are not born liars and that lying to their parents would be their undoing. But how will what she is proposing to TK (live as a married couple) help her deal with InOk the next time her MIL mentions the baby or how appreciative she is of her? This is what makes no sense to me. She is just continuing the lie.

FWIW, the right thing would have been for them to sit their parents down and say "You know we argue at times. The reality is we argue most of the time and its getting worse. We rarely sleep together. We realize this is because we married too soon without getting to know each other. So today YD is moving out to her own apartment and we will begin over and date each other, so that by the time Real is born we can be a happy married couple." The parents couldn't argue against it and there would be little guilt for her. And she could deal with her fear that way too. PROBLEM SOLVED? This is essentially what TK proposed, but with the twist of letting her move out.

Just my .02

I feel something is off about Hee. I am wondering if she is married.
All I've seen about the Pharmacist is her kid's name (Aerum), and the name of the pharmacy "HanAerum". I've seen in other Kdramas where a parent will name their store, etc for their child. I'm not sure if Han is the child's family name or her's though. The boy looks about SK's age??? between 7-10?

The only other thing we know about Hee is that she's in financial trouble, given that text she got about a hospital bill being due and her need for weekly pay. I hope this isn't some kind of trap for DS. She has a kind face, and seems like a nice person for him.

I thin k you're right on JunHa doing the letter. Because the oldest brother told him SJ has the Chairman's confidence.
I know, and that was the obvious choice. It just struck me that he (JH) was specifically told that the Chairman trusted her. And the note comes back to not trust her.

BTW, SJAF for Ep 21 was a paltry .06, I was stunned how little screen time she had. I might need to skim thru it again to see if I missed something.

Wow. Again, they give us another Happy Sunday without any angst cliffhanger ending. I'm tickled pink.

Highlights - Uncle & Hee can proceed with a relationship with all the cards on the table; SK gets YM as her manager; the last couple of minutes of the camping date, starting with the music and shot of him retracting the sunroof (and did my man actually string lightbulbs inside his SUV?) ; house hunting; TK visits his in-laws (again) and brings home takeout for mom & dad's dinner; the warning letter; and of course KJH throws water on SJ's plans.

Meh Moments - Too much SJ; her recollection of her past; Granny still referring to YD as 'that thing in the annex'; YD does sign a lease for 2 months from now (hopefully cancel-able).

Things that made me think - Would SJ blackmail Granny if she finds out she's illiterate? The way Granny hid her homework as she entered made me wonder. The vibes coming from SJ are getting way too dark.

And to be honest I really wanted to rewrite that ending: As TK approached YD with the clean dishes and she has realized her feelings for him: As he puts down the dishes she grabs his arm, tells him to shut up and pulls him to the back of the SUV and tells him to get in. The closing shot is of the hatch of the SUV closing and their shoes outside. I know, I know. Not yet. Too soon.

But the stargazing + proposal ending they gave us was better..... til next week!

are they really trying to give us a reason to be sympathetic towards that wicked witch of the wild Wild West SeJin?…
Are they laying the foundation for an eventual redemption arc for her? "It wasn't really her fault, given how she was treated!"
