I had that same issue with Moonlight Mystique. So it bugged me as well when MXL kept trying to deny the connection with XXC and DL ZM initially. I wanted more than the subtle acknowledgment we got in the end, but I am glad for it nonetheless.

Okay. Because I really needed some clarity about the drama ending, I decided to search for clues from the novel source. One thing I didn't like in the drama was the emphasis of Azhu and Mu Xuan Ling not being the same person, even though they very much are, the same thing with Zhao Ming and Xie Xue Chen. And I can't figure out why the drama choose to make a point of trying to separate the two identities when in the source novel MXL recognizes that she is in fact Azhu who lost her memories and became Mu Xuan Ling. She also didn't have any hang ups about recognizing that Demon Lord Zhao Ming and Xie Xue Chen are the same. She accepted that the fragmented soul of Zhao Ming that became XXC, had returned back to Zhao Ming to merge completely, and had no issues with accepting he was still the same man she loved whether it was 10,000 years ago or 10,000 years later.

So my understanding of the drama ending scene with MXL and XXC under the now blooming Xuanling tree, is that the XXC we see who now has demon power, is the Demon Lord Zhao Ming now fully merged with his soul fragment Xie Xue Chen, with Xie Xue Chen's personality being dominant. He has all his memories and no conflict in his identity. He is now all 3 personalities: Zhao Ming/Xie Xue Chen/Demon Lord ZM. And we can see that Mu Xuan Ling also has all her memories of all her personalities as well.

Also, knowing that the whole villainous Hao Tian arc and overthrowing Hao Tian arc doesn't exist in the novel (at least it didn't seem to do so from the brief skimming I did of the novel ending), I take even more of an issue with that whole last minute arc in the drama. 🙄

Outside of a few issues I had with the last minute villain switch and what the writers were trying to imply, I enjoyed this drama as a whole. The characters for the most part were nuanced. The story draws you in from the beginning and holds for the most part. I have some questions about the ending which I believe could have used more time. Some things needed clarifying especially regarding the fates of some of the characters, most especially the XXC we saw in the ending.

I have a new appreciation for the actress Sun Zhen Ni regarding her acting and range in this drama. This young actress is going far. I hope she gets more main lead roles. As for Zhang Bin Bin, I believe this is his best work yet. Loved every iteration of his character in this drama.
Wasn't very familiar with the actor Wang Duo until now, and after watching this drama, I hope we get to see more of him in future works. Each of the main casts did their thing in this drama.

Well, once the author finishes the book, maybe we get the real adaptation lol. With this one, treat it as fanfics,…
I think you actually have a point there. That's one way to look at it.

Fingers crossed. I really hope a truer adaption will be made. I would really love to see Tianqi"s and Yuemi's story.

Can we just appreciate a good story line and acting. That is why you should not expect things to go the way of…
I want to be as gentle as possible when I say this, but what you just said is so disingenuous and ignorant.

You had no reason to respond to my comment, yet you chose to respond to something that had nothing to do with you, and tried to dictate how anyone who comments about the drama should rate it and view it. Is that not arrogance?

Who are you to tell someone they are not allowed to express how they feel about something that they invested time on and watched? So you're implying that the only point of views that are valid is if they agree with your own or are sycophantic praises of the drama? Are you trying to censor peoples comments?

It amazes me you do not see the irony in what you wrote. Please spend less time on the internet and more time in the real world. Maybe you will learn that in real life people aren't always going to agree with you, and that's okay. Work on learning how to better handle differing opinions. Take care.

I understand your feeling. Had a bad experience with Douluo Continent and Fight Break Sphere that kind of completely…
Glad you were able to enjoy it. I accepted early on into watching it that this was a standalone drama and to treat it as original content. Yet there was something about it that just didn't click for me. I wanted so much to enjoy it more than I did.

How arrogant it is to try to tell someone else how they should view something simply because that's how you see it. Acting could be good, doesn't make a story good. And a story can be good, doesn't make the acting good. I wasn't aware that what made a comment "good" or "bad" was whether or not another person likes it or agrees with it. My opinion on a drama that I invested time in and watched is just as valid as anyone else.

I feel let down by the drama, and as an audience member, I have the right to express that whether or not you unknown person agrees with it or not. You think it deserves a 10 rating, well good for you. I do not. It is disgustingly disrespectful to try to tell someone you know nothing about how they should feel about something, as if they lack the ability to discern their own thoughts and emotions about a content that they consumed. I was not moved by the drama, the storyline was not particularly all that appealing to me, and that's just what it is.

Sigh. As someone who was looking forwards to the story of Tianqi and Yuemi since Ancient Love Poetry, this drama was a let down for me. After learning that it was not going to follow the source material (the novel), nor connect with ALP, I did my best to watch it without any other expectations as I would with any other drama. However, this just didn't do it for me. There were touching parts for sure, but as a whole, I just feel "flat" about this drama for lack of a better word. Can't quite put my finger on it.

"Fangs of Fortune" or "Tears of Fortune"? Can't say that I was a fan of the gloom and doom theme of the drama. After a while it started to come off as affectatious, trying to come off as deep where it wasn't. I clearly am not the target audience. While it wasn't bad, as I rated it a moderately high score, it frustrated just about as much as it entertained me.

What frustrated me the most about this drama was how the protagonist group tended to be reactive rather than proactive. They are supposed to be smart and skilled, yet they always came off as being 20 steps behind their opponents, especially the 2 main antagonist, majority of the time. Some situations were so obviously avoidable, and only occurred for the sake of plot, which makes it all the worse because of how obvious it was. Nonetheless, there were heartfelt moments spattered throughout the drama, and what made it easier to get through was the acting of the main cast. However, the drama could have been shorter.

Timeline 1, I love that YJ throws a beautiful wedding to show his deep love for XG and his dedication as a provider…
Your comment is bringing it all back again. I'm remembering their last parting scene in the Shanghai timeline and I feel sad all over again because it was obvious they never truly got over each other. 😞

Title Love of Nirvana Spoiler
The first half of this drama is the very definition of the calm before the storm. Going into this drama blindly, I had no idea what to expect and I wasn't prepared for that ending.

The ending has left me with a heaviness in my heart that has yet to go away despite it being a couple of days since I finished watching. It's mainly due to the injustice of it all. It left me feeling so deflated, that I honestly don't know what to take away from this. When I think of Wei Zhao, tears come to my eyes. The very thing that kept him going for so many years in order to accomplish, was the thing he couldn't accomplish at the very end. He thrived so hard for many years to find out the truth and bring it to light concerning the Prince Qi case, and his father, hoping to finally being able to redress the injustice against the Xiao family. While he was able to finally free the people of Yueluo, it came at such a great cost. My heart aches thinking about it. The villain got away with so much, and there's no sense of justice or vindication at the end. I sincerely don't know what I'm supposed to take away from this. I can only wonder as to the writer's mental state when s/he wrote the novel the drama was adapted from because this was downright depressive.

You wish you knew me. I most certainly have been known to call out bad behavior in my presence. I'm curious as to who you think you are talking to behind the screen. A little girl? My original post, which obviously has you triggered since it seems to have hit the mark, (you should probably reflect on that), was precisely to call out the disgusting and vitriolic comments littering this page mocking a positive attribute such as kindness & being a good person. However, from my brief perusing of this page, it doesn't take long to see your negativity spewed over this comment section, so I understand why you're so bothered about my post that calls out such actions.

Now I'm done with this. I don't have time for foolishness and don't want to be receiving notifications for nonsense comments. Leave the keyboard alone and go play. Study shows standing barefoot on grass has positive psychological affects. Go outside and try it. It will do you a world of good. And that's genuine advice because you seriously seem to need it.

That's interesting. Tell me then what is the intent of your post? Was it to raise my own hackles? You came into my replies carrying over anger you seem to be harboring inside against a particular group while making insinuations about me. But you know what. I won't allow you. If the shoe fits wear it. I'm not here for these slick comments. I'm very clear in my original post. Your interpretation of it as something else seems to be your intent, but don't think coming into my replies commenting recklessly is okay. No one should ever have to accept that when confronted by toxicity that the only options are either "shut up" or "leave" which is essentially what you just tried to do. Good day.

I guess it depends on what you define as kind. Kindness to a point your are crippled by it or kindness with boundaries.…
When your comment comes across as facetious and disingenuous it's hard for me to take it as anything other than you just wanting to argue. Your opinion as to what you think the clan would do does not equate to fact. Especially when examples straight from the drama have been given which does not fully support what you're claiming.

Also, LOL, TSJ cheated on his fiance? He cheated on someone he did not have a relationship with? How does that happen? You're really reaching there aren't you? FL was trying to court a woman that had no interest in him, and XY & TSJ already had something between them before there was a FL in the picture who was only interested in XY because of her status/identity. Your desire to besmirch TSJ's character is very interesting and clearly blinding you to logic. Now you're claiming he isn't kind? I thought the issue was that he was too kind?

By your same logic I can make the same claims about XL regarding the gambling house since he actually went there to spectate and join in the activities, 🙄, something that Jing didn't do. As a business man, TSJ is willing to do business with everyone, giving some people an opportunity they otherwise wouldn't get. Isn't that how XL was able to obtain provisions for the Chengrong army for some decades? Regarding TSJ paying XL to stop XY and FL from marrying, he told XL to do it before the wedding day and in a way that would cause the least amount of trouble all around, but what does XL do? XL being XL stops the wedding in the most humiliating way possible causing trouble all around. And causing XY to become the object of scorn. Nonetheless, the reason behind TSJ having XL stop the wedding wasn't even for TSJ's benefit, but to give XY and XL a chance as was clearly said in the drama. Make of that whatever you will.

If you have to make weak claims to imply that Jing wasn't a kind and loyal person, then sorry for you. On that note, I don't have any further interest in this communication because your claims seem insincere, and it comes across as if you're just looking for something negative to say. Goodnight to you. This lady here has had a long day.

How does showing his mutilating body prove it is TSH that was behind the torture? Whether or not TSH is an illegitimate child does not change that's he's a Tushan. He literally speaks of not having evidence when he was being encouraged to deal with his brother by possibly killing him. I can't recall who he was speaking about it with if it was Fenglong or the other character, of the two headed dog. His name escapes me. And sincerely, about your last comment what is the intent? TSJ's kindness and forgiving nature is what dictates how he chooses to deal with his brother. He is certainly within his right to dole out harsh punishment to his brother but he chose not to do that and even left it to the elders of the clan to decide on how to punish TSH.

You were in my replies that's why and referencing me while being indirect. I think that says it all. I am absolutely serious about what I said and made it clear. I know exactly why I said what I said. Why should your own perception of what you think others are doing or not doing dictate my own conclusion? You attempted to be mocking in your reply to a comment made in response to my comments mind you. See how that works? For me it goes beyond just the character, but when positive qualities in characters are mocked it's troubling. Because it is having that kind of mindset that has led to the very real problematic behavior being witnessed in the comment section. The correlation is there.
