I'm watching this because I like firefighter dramas and Simons pretty face... but the pacing is quite off. I thought it would be interesting to see a chinese take on that genre and the differences to american and european shows I've seen. Like different kind of buildings (fire in a temple maybe) or accidents in badly run factorys or at the massive train stations. For example the hypermodern architecture at the hospital is quite cool. I'm also always up for comraderie and bickering in the firehouse. But after the initial action scene it slides into shallow rom-com~like that ridiculous earphone promoting in the restaurant in ep 2. I also don't understand why the medical personnel drives to the accidents in their hospital uniforms. Normally they should get at least a paramedic jacket or vest (pockets!). I hope it gets better.
How is everying liking the drama? Is this worth the watch? Thinking about starting it.
The first few episodes were a bit draggy for me, but now I am in full binge mode (where you do not even notice how many episodes you already watched this day), so I'd say go for it. Female lead does not annoy me, even if she is supposed to be very young. Thats a bit of a rarity in xianxia. Male lead is fine, second male lead is finer than fine :) Also I don't mind the wait for new episodes ... nothing wrong with a bit fangirl exitement. It's not like they drag it out like word of honor with only 3 eps per week.
They cultivate all the time. So when it comes to having relationships, they are just like adolescents 😁But…
"Celestial Job Center" Clerk: So... what can you do? God X: I can fly. And I drink tea. And wine. I play chess. Ckerk: Any more.. special skills? God X: I'm really good at cultivating! Clerk: Cultivating what exactly? God X: Well myself of course! Clerk: ...
Which German TV show did you watch, and did you like it? I've seen a German mini-series, "World on a Wire", which…
Have a try with "Babylon Berlin" then, a very dark 1920s crime/thriller drama based on a bunch of novels. That's the only german drama I'd wholeheartedly recommend and I'm from there :).

Yes, "God realm Office Affairs" Or something like the "Heaven's Design Team" anime, where they actually have to invent the animals of earth. Short origin stories would be nice too, like exactly why is that one goddess of snow? Did she ascend from mortal to immortal and worked up to goddess? Or if they use the "born" god angle, are her parents Mr. Water and Mrs. Winter? Maybe these things are partly not mentioned, because its common knowledge for the chinese audience?

Yes, the cultivation... they meditate or fight or learn all the time. I'd like to see more of these gods actually working, like in Ashes of Love it was Runyus job to hang up the stars or in Love and Destiny they had the healer who actually healed people in the mortal realm. Bai Jues job teaching the kids seems to be over after he takes Shang Gu on? So only Pu Hua actually works by organzing dating picknicks :). Zhi Yangs works gets mentioned, like reading reports, but thats it. Hm, maybe Heavens Official Blessing will show the actual daily work of the gods, like answering prayers and doing paperwork or collecting scraps... A science fiction xianxia could also be fun, like Marvels Asgard in the Thor movies..
This is like "Dad Material- the series" and I am enjioying this more than I thought. My fav character is actually the little brat, but Qing Luos weird henchmen also grow on me.
i don't think I've ever found a drama that's dubbed
No, what I want to know if they recorded the original voices of the actors on set or if they used synchronization actors in the studio (which is cheaper). Especially since Ian is from Taiwan and period dramas get dubbed by mandarin dubbing voice actors a lot of the time. Mrs X explains the matter better than me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcRYGmzcWv8&t=181s
yesss, subtitle drop on yt up to ep 16... seems to me its always 6 subbed eps in a row? also the police chiefs glasses throw me off everytime... way to modern
